Hi! Huge comic fan! The reason a lot of people ask these questions, especially to the women, is because of how women are portrayed in comics. That’s why you see nerds asking those kinds of questions. As a female, you need to understand where it’s coming from. Females in comics are extremely sexualized and seeing a female trying to get in shape for one of these roles would have to be extremely demanding. It’s an interesting topic to ask for strong women who are taking on extremely sexualized roles. Especially Black Widow. It’s not okay for the questions to be phrased as they are, but the sincerity is known through some of the interviewers. These women have taken on roles that are known to be sexual. They shouldn’t be offended when they are asked about how they are going to take on such a role. The guys aren’t as sexualized which is why they aren’t asked as much. It comes with the role you are taking on. Not everything is sexist. Somethings are deeper than people will make you think. And some of these things are genuinely interesting.
And calling these women's answers "sassy." I have never heard that word (same with feisty) applied to a man. Maybe a gay one, but we all know how society feels about those and masculinity.
I've been getting less of those since I've started reporting every one that came my way. Sometimes you can say the reason is you're not interested in the ad but if that option is not available I don't hesitate to say it's offensive. Enough with the targeting of women by diet ads!

What about when the iconic Dolly Parton went off on that rude male interviewer after he asked her "so what is your actual bra size?" She laughed at his stupidity and said "oh, blow it out your rear end!"
The question "how do you balance your career and your personal life" is so stupid. They are literally asking how a woman balances her job and her free time. Like what do you expect as an answer? She does it like every working man. No difference
Erm...almost. Really they’re referring to their “wifely duties” assuming that a woman also spends time at home, cooking, cleaning, and looking after the kids. Basically assuming that this is the 1950s and that women are not capable of having a life while also having a career.
If they're asking how a woman balances her job and her free time....it is a stupid question. But when they're asking about personal life it is often about family, namely children. So if an actress has children, the question makes perfect sense.
@@Aleksamson because interviewers often don't ask women any substantial questions. Normally it's just about their diet, costume or family life. Compare that to the questions people like Robert Downey Jr. get asked
Well, Robert Downey Jr. is Iron man. Not a woman in a sexy dress. So ofcourse questions will be different. I understand that sometimes questions can be annoying or condescending even. But to complain about sexism in 2022 or to call it discrimination /injustice? That's BS. Hurt feelings don't confirm objective reality.

"i'm not going home with any men tonight. i'm gonna hang out with my friends, and then i'll go home to the cats." taylor has to face sexism in every single interview, yet she still finds a way to politely shut their questions down
But you missed the best quote from the Lady Gaga interview! When asked if her sexuality could distract from her music, she replied "If I was a guy and I was sitting here with a cigarette in my hands, grabbing my crotch, talking about how I make music because I like fast cars and f*cking girls, you'd call me a rockstar."
How did Anne Hathaway's responses not get her the number one spot? She managed to be funny, insightful, AND promote her project at the exact same time.
I'll always love the response for an interview for the "Imitation Game" film; Interviewer: (to Kiera Knightley) You look a little worn out. Benedict Cumberbatch: That's not a nice thing to say to one of the most beautiful women on the planet! Kiera: Yeah, fuck you! XD
I always find it a shame that some of the people mentioned on this list feel like they have to respond with a sense of humour, light-heartedness and a smile, (i assume) to not come across as a B - which shouldnt be the case. I am so glad these women snap back... its so unfair that women arent treated the same in Hollywood (or anywhere else) for doing the same (or larger) job. I also have to say it would be so easy for male celebrities to sit back and not say anything, I am glad many don't. I don't think most have realized just how sexist some of the questioning can be because they don't see it but it was BAD in the beginning of the Marvel universe so they got to see people ask the males about their powers and Scarlett about her diet or outfit.
as a women I feel like a few of these are jumping to the conclusion that it is sexist and asking "would you ask a man that" when there's many situations where they would! that's just my opinion though and I could be totally wrong!
You're not wrong. It's also rather interesting that you never see a compilation of interviews in which male celebrities are asked (almost exclusively by female journos) "Boxers or briefs?" which is highly common and inappropriate. Even Barack Obama was asked that the year before his first term as President.
That was a stupid response on her part... She had a newly released MENS cologne and was asked what sort of man she was looking for to represent it...that's a logical typical question. She was dumb and didn't comprehend the question and responded snarkily based on her ignorant understanding.
Imagine if you were asked any of these questions by a complete stranger. It's like just because they're celebrities they are supposed to just put up with harassment.
So many woman experience sexism and it is honestly soo sad that we live in a world where many people think that it is okay to say and ask those things. It just makes you lose hope in people, because they should know and be taught when they are young that it is wrong. Also I think that it is annoying when a man does the bare minimum and they are given so much credit, like it should be expected. Also when a girl does more, people say like well they should. The difference in the way people are viewed and treated because of the gender disgusts me. And what I think is so sad is that some people will always be sexist, even if it is subconscious. I honestly feel sorry for those people because they don’t understand the meaning of equality. Also sorry that this is soo long, there is just a lot to say. There is still so much more to say.

When you're watching a video about sexist questions and how horrible they are, and the ad at the end is about a weight-watching diet plan.
Why? Can’t people wanna lose weight?
@@thatgirlreacts5465 my husband has wanted to lose weight for years. He never gets weight loss ads. I get them all the time. The problem is not the existence of people who might be interested in those ads. The problem is the targeting of women with them, hence the irony.
@@lenaeospeixinhos pffff guys get those ads too. And in general, there are more chicks who want to lose weight than men. There is no conspiracy theory here, just people wanting to make money and targeting the demographic that will ensure a bigger return.
Moral of the story: Helen Mirren has always been a badass.

And the answer probably not squarely blaming on the photographer too. Anne Hathaway was a legend in that interview. Seriously. Idiot got put in his place
It pisses me off when something happens to a famous woman where they are exposed in some way, like Anne Hathaway, and they are the ones who are blamed. What the heck is up with that? Like that whole Janet Jackson halftime thing. Justin Timberlake was the one who ripped her costume clean off, and yet she was blamed and blacklisted. Why do you boys always try to make everything abt themselves, your weird.

I always find it a shame that some of the people mentioned on this list feel like they have to respond with a sense of humour, light-heartedness and a smile, (i assume) to not come across as a B - which shouldnt be the case. If a journalist is purposely trying to annoy, get a reaction, or just inept as asking an interesting question, give to them!!
That said, i'm glad there seems to be a (albeit slow) culture change in how women are viewed and aren’t just automatically labelled as difficult just for clapping back more aggressively!

I really luvvv when I see interviews like this. Women make ppl realize how sexist these ppl are. And they really stand up for themselves & other women.
