If i remember right, Diana was told not to wear heels while married to Charles so as not to be taller than him. So even her shoes for that look were both revenge and freedom.

I might have the definition wrong but for me “the revenge dress” meant that dress wore in the first (or one of the first) public appearance after being very publicly cheated on by your significant other (or dumped out of no where for a third party)… not after you got a divorce or you broke up.
