Eh, one was reactionary emotion that was stupid and unplanned. The other was a gamble that the omniscient time fascist lied so he could stay in power and keep ruling/hurting people, not to mention the lifetime of trauma and pain he caused her. Not quite the same. Still not great, but not the same. Plus, the subtitles said she was crying after so it seems there was immediate regret/guilt instead of the unapologetic bull in a china shop that was Quill..

I definitely think that's why she's going to be the villain of Doctor Strange. His best plan will be to stay as quiet as possible and not get their universe noticed, and Wanda will fly by straight into the multiverse yelling "where's my kids?!'

"He Who Remains" was making the point that at least with him running the TVA one universe/timeline gets to exist in peace, without Kang the Conqueror.

If his story was honest, he really wasn't a bad guy. It was the only way to stop Kang.
@@Cybeldar I mean... kinda. It's the peace of knowing all the other conquerors have been metaphorically killed in their cribs, but the winner of the last big conflict is still a Kang and still sitting on the throne.
Also if he to be belived it was 1 Timeline surviving vs NONE of them surviving. ONE is Greater then a Billion Zeros.
Then why not just prune himself .... instead of everyone else... he seems like the problem...not everyone else.
This is like the argument that the Avengers had that came to a head in Civil War with the Sokovia Accords but has been a recurring theme in most, if not all, the movies: freedom/ free will versus security/control. This is just on a MUCH larger scale. Tony Stark wanted to protect people but that meant limiting some of their and the Avengers' freedoms; He Who Remains wants to keep his other variants at bay and keep order but is playing god by pruning/ deleting whole branches and timelines. Steve Rogers wanted to prioritize free will but that came at the cost of lives; Sylvie wants to prioritize free will, despite the potential of unleashing all kinds of other evils, which can lead to more death.
The next phase of the MCU is going to be "Kang whack a mole" whack one down and another pops up somewhere else 😂

It’s interesting that we’re meeting Kang at the end of his life, first. He’s still clearly unhinged and dangerous, but so, so tired. He’s already gone through everything we’re about to see.
I personally think this was at most a nicer variant of him, not just seen some shit but also not as evil as we know the comics one can be...
@@BaconNuke If you actually think about what he did, you would not be so sure. Alioth first belonged to the scientist Kang, not him. This being war, he probably didn't get it peacefully. So he took a small new born being, experimented on it and weaponized it... and then he killed everyone with it. He isn't the good Kang, he's just the winner Kang who created the TVA to make sure he will not get competition ever again and he'll be able to rule for all eternity.
The million lifetimes did mellow him down but he could have been a horrible Kang back when he won the war.

Dude, after Sylvie pushed Loki thru the portal and it closed, the look of heartbreak on his face, man i felt that. For the first time in his life, he fell in love cared about someone more than himself and she rejected him. The look of pure hurt.... it made me tear up. Remembering back when I've had my heart broken. Tom Hiddleston's acting was so on point. He didn't say one fooking word, but he conveyed that emotion brilliantly

The interesting bit for the next season: Loki will be going round trying to convince everyone the truth of what happened. Pretty tough order when you're known as the God of Lies and Mischief.

This finale was basically the Trolly Problem. Loved it.
No it wasn’t. They had the option to take over the TVA and keep the multiverse at bay. Sylvie only cares about her goal. She’s not attached to anyone but Loki aka herself.
@@ateam404 - The only way to keep the multiverse at bay is by continuing to prune timelines. So basically that would mean murdering countless innocent people in budding timelines and sending them to be devoured by Alioth. That is literally what happened to her family and nearly happened to her as a child. Since Sylvie comes from one of those timelines, she isn't going to choose murdering innocents for the rest of her existence.
@@FenrirInFlowers I don’t know what Aloith’s current status is right now nor if a million unwillingly saved trillions per universe. He who Remains power was already gone. Killing him was for personal satisfaction of revenge regardless of the consequences. Not saying they had to run the TVA like he did but not killing him to get information on all the ways he tried other options and phoning a friend (Strange, Variant Frigga, Ancient One) with TVA technology was an option. The Trolley Problem only has 2 options both terrible.

Dr Strange is Not a Nexus being. Don't know if Loki are Individually, its seems they caused one when they started caring for one another BUT not before.
I think only Kang and the two lokis know about the changes because all 3 crossed the threshold together ... so all 3 are aware.

Loki was right.
Loki wasn't arguing that killing Kang was wrong, or that the TVA shouldn't be "burned to the ground."
Loki was asking for time. The TVA had been in existence for a very long while. Taking a couple of days to return to Earth and asking the greatest minds "what should we do next" wouldn't have made a material difference.
That doesn't mean that Sylvie is the bad guy here. I think siding with her is perfectly understandable, and just a testament to both how well written the show was to get us to this point, how well directed this was, and how the actors absolutely nailed it.
Except Kang didn't allow time... the timeline was already branching and they had to decide then and there. It was a weird thing, to put pressure on them to decide fast... as if Kang knew that pressure would cause a rift between them. IMO this is the outcome he planed and both Lokis did what he wanted and their choices will be important later on. He definitely has a plan (he sent Renslayer somewhere for something and he knew Sylvie and her thirst for revenge and he still got her to the Citadel), his game is not over.
He said it himself, you have to experience the journey to get to the end a changed man... maybe people were meant to experience Kang the Conqueror for some other purpose further down the timeline (maybe this is why it never finished writing... )
Dr. Strange to Tony Stark before getting dusted: “There was no other way.”
Kang to Sylvie & Loki: “This is the only way”.

Kang was "right" - if there's war among Kangs which may end in mutual destruction = existence ends - wouldn't you take extreme measures, even structure existence into a pruned timeline.
That way there will at least BE existence. I think that he had done it for so long that he freely gives in to chaos - by letting the duality of Loki be the ones to make the choice of keeping it alive or destroy it.

@@ahmadaiman9585 I didn't say what he did was moral, but it might've been necessary. Just because a king is keeping his people safe from other Kings doesn't mean him executing commoners for population control if they step one inch out of line is a moral thing to do.

It's like you and other world leaders causing a world war that might destroy Earth altogether and then you inventing a mass destruction weapon, protecting just your country and destroying all the other countries (even the allied ones). Then killing all your people who ever dare do something out of line because you are the new ruler or the world and you are trying to avoid any new wars.
So yeah, Earth is saved but maybe you went a bit too far...

What I love most about this episode is that Loki finally gets to know what it feels like to love a Loki, and then to be betrayed by that Loki. The shattered look on Tom Hiddleston's face. Genius.

in his timeline, he created a time machine and returned to the beginning of time to create a TVA, which means that a TVA exists throughout the entire time ... hence the next conclusion - as soon as a new timeline is created - it ALREADY has a TVA and its own Kang
which means that each timeline already has its own Kang with an army of soldiers in TVA
Bootstrap Paradox?
Actually, from what the show has shown us so far, the TVA exists outside of normal time and space, which is how it oversees the sacred and branching timelines of the multiverse. Therefore, it isn't tied to a single timeline and is still essentially the same TVA as before. The only difference is that now there's a new Kang variant in charge and he immediately reset the memories of all the TVA workers, as shown in the case of Mobius and B-15.

I didn't HESITATE to click! I'm so sad this series is over, especially since when the camera panned out to view all the timelines coming from the main timeline. That really got me, not Sylvie's betrayal, or Kang's reveal, *the branching timelines got me.* I started crying because now the Multiverse is open and just with the sheer possibility of what's to come.
I almost started getting teary-eyed again:

Some people seem very confused about the ending, here’s what I interpreted based off of all the information we have so far lol
-
1.) Yes we meet Kang in this episode but not Kang the Conquerer because this is not the evil version of Kang that Conquers shit
2.) Loki did not enter a TV from a different Timeline because the TVA doesn’t belong to a time line of universe it exists outside of time which means there can’t be multiple TVA’s just the one.
3.) The reason Mobius and B-15 don’t remember Loki is because when Sylvie killed Kang or “He Who Remains”, she altered the past, present and future meaning everything we’ve seen so far technically hasn’t happened now.
4.) The reason the TVA was still effected even if it didn’t belong to a time line or time doesn’t even exist there is because the TVA was still something created because of the timelines and because the past, present, and future were changed the creation of the TVA was also changed making this an essentially new TVA but the same TVA
Another possibility is timelines merging. The TVA changed bc the person who created it changed when Sylvie killed Kang, creating a paradox.
Well to me Universe and timelines are two different things each universe has their own version of the TVA who maintain the timeline of that universe all these branches exist in this single universe while the others universes also have their own timeline the TVA may exist out of time but there still apart of a universe which makes it possible for there to be more than one just not in a single timeline.

Some of the points are correct but …it looks like kang came and he conquered the tva…the branches already started before he who remains got killed. It seems more liked the conqueror reset the tva and brought it under his under control.
as explained you cant change the past and alter the future but the tva is not bound to the past and future hence it changes with all the realities.
It’s insane that at the moment Kang says he’s passed the threshold it syncs perfectly with the moment Wanda became Scarlett Witch in Wandavison
Not really. The multiverse always existed in the mcu but loki is outside of time so those events hadn't happened yet

It's ridiculous. Didn't we all watch the variant Lokis barely surviving (or NOT) Alioth? Didn't we see the devastation? Didn't this Kang variant describe weaponizing it and destroying all other realities to end the multiversal war? I'm seeing an awful lot of people who are happy with a dictator in control of things and ready to justify all the Hiroshimas and Nagasakis we can find.
And with good reason. Loki was right for saying that they should think about it before dong anything.

When does that happen
I sincerely rank this as one of the greatest pieces in the MCU to this point due to this episode.
1. Loki had his character development in the first episode. He ranks alongside our former Loki in the first episode alone.
2. Loki saw his chaotic selves in Episode 5. He knows where Kang is coming from with the end of all universes.
3. Due to the prior point, he realises He Who Remains is on another level entirely. If Thanos' plans revolved around dominating the universe, imagine what his evil self is capable of!
4. Therefore, he recognises the choice isn't really a choice. It's aimed at provoking Sylvie - arguably the first Avengers equivalent of Loki - into taking the choice out of He Who Remains' hands. If she kills him, it begins again. If one or both take over, they are doomed anyway.
In short, Loki is going to have his hands full in Season 2. I'm interested to see if he rocks up at the end of Ant Man 3.

Their not his mobius and b15, their from an alternate tva attached to an alternate timeline. That's why they don't remember him because those versions of them never met him

I can not believe I just got this. There are multiple TVAs that are staffed with the same variants. That's why they don't remember Loki. He's in a different TVA. It also explains the rings on the table and why Mobius didn't remember the alligator Loki. All of the items in Renslayer's office are all from variants of Mobius.
Why would Renslayer's office be some kinda junction of for the various TVAs? And why would there be multiple TVAs if there was meant to be one "sacred timeline"?
@@BaconNuke Why not. If she connects to one TVA then another TVA can't connect to her office. She suddenly has double, triple or unlimited manpower. Miss Minutes would be the control keeping track of which variant is where at any given moment so they don't run into eachother. The TVA has probably been responsible for more destruction than Thanos could have dreamed of. Billions and billions of variants pruned . . . or put to work.
@@briancampbell2346 nah the TVA is outside of time post "timekeeper", so this TVA has been already usurped before that part of the sacred timeline, cause Kangs have complete time control. Basically it seemed like we are some other TVA when we are actually witnessing how quick it seems
@@passdoutcouchpotatos There may be multiple TVAs and not all of them necessarily belong to He Who Remains. The one Loki is currently in may belong to Kang the Conqueror. When they crossed the threshold the timelines began to branch. With each branch comes a different Kang and with each Kang comes a different variant of the TVA.
@@briancampbell2346 That doesn't make sense because the TVA exists outside of normal time and space, which is how it oversees the sacred and branching timelines of the multiverse. So, it can't be tied to a single timeline and the TVA at end of the episode is the same one. However, due to Sylvie's actions, there's now a new Kang variant in charge of the TVA whom immediately reset the memories of all the TVA workers, as shown in the case of Mobius and B-15.
I sat there after this episode just frozen and not thinking. Everything was awesome in a weird way. I think this Variant was Immortus X He Who Remains.

I can't believe so many viewers were expecting to see Kang in this show as this big, towering, god-like being, with a booming voice and lighting cracking behind him. Like you said, we got little drips and drabs of Thanos over the course of 6 years. This was just a soupçon, a hint, a trace of what we can expect from Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.
A trace? Seriously? This dude was annoying AF for every second he was on screen. I hope that the real Kang ends up being NOTHING like this clown.

Sylvie is the epitome of living for self. I was team sylvie until this very episode. Kang offered them the reigns of the TVA she could’ve changed the dynamics of the entire thing but she chose personal vengeance over the entire universe! That’s insanity her fighting will never end now. We love it for the future movies and series though 😜
