Luke may be right about Edie's solo with Jackson, but those of us who know Steve Lukather's career and have a taste for his music know that he has made hundreds of beautiful arrangements with different artists of great stature, not just anyone, Luke you're the best!!!
I agree Steve. As someone also born in 1957, we were SO lucky to experience the music we did and still do. Thank you for all your creative efforts. You’re the best.
..Lukather's a great dude and an outstanding musician and session guitarist....he can play his ass off ....but more than that ....when he's called in for session work...he plays for the song .....great singer also 👍
Very Humble dude. For years and years I have wanted to write Steve a letter telling him to quit beating himself up so much. Sometimes he gets too down on himself, and I want to scream at him, "Stop it, you're Steve friggen Lukather". Ha Ha Ha. The guy really is from another planet with his playing, and better/as good as any of his contemporaries. His vibrato and bends rip right into my soul. Hits me just like David Gilmore!!!!!
@@scotabot7826 but is that so wrong, to be humble and allow oneself to question yourself over and over and want to improve even after 45 years of career and being a top player ? I think he does it right. And he'll manage to get even better.

I started following you because of the interviews I found on youtube and now you having your own interview series is a blessing. Also, Steve is a legend
Luke is easily up there in my top favorite guitar players of all time. I was blessed enough to be around when he first came on the scene. He stood out like a sore thumb on the radio, it was just perfection. His work with Boz is what got my attention and then Toto on to present. He just does everything with such skill and class...I can’t say enough great things about him. Hanging with him for a day with just guitars is something I’ve dreamed about for 40 plus years. Steve should be up there in public accolades with Clapton, Page, Beck, Jimi, and Edward. Toto never got a fair shake from the press and were dismissed...To this day I’m still trying to figure that one out. Losing Edward Van Halen was such a horrible thing for millions of fans, but even more to friends like Steve who was very close to him. My condolences to Steve on the loss of such a good friend. Obviously condolences first and foremost to Wolf, Alex, Janie, Valerie, as well as the extended family. I love that Steve points out that there are no secret tricks when learning to play guitar. Simple persistent hard work along with a passion for the music. I love that you truly can never master it, because there is always something that you don’t know how to do. Steve is among the small club that will get as close to that as you can. Thanks for all the great music Steve. 👏🏻 Thanks for this interview and sorry for the long rant! 😃👍🏻
