Honestly Amber’s c2 should have been a part of her kit from the beginning. It’s crazy how difficult it is to get her constellations even though they provide her with such a huge power spike
Amber was in the shop so I bought her and got her to C1... started pouring money into the reg banner trying to get her c2... $700 later I had a C2 kaeya and nothing to show for amber and a hurt feelings so deeply i stopped playing genshin for 8 months... I still haven't fully recovered from that
@@kianmarcial8884 believe it or not, people actually use bunny as a taunter even with c2+. changing it to shooting the head to detonate will cause too many accidental detonations
Soloing Amber is Genshin's hidden "hard mode." I recommend people start an alt account using only Amber. You have to pay a LOT more attention to the game mechanics.
I actually did start another account where I wanted to play the game without wishing except on the beginner timed banner with Noelle but it's hard to maintain two genshin accounts. You have too much grinding to do on my main account lol.
i'm still maining amber until now. I only let her out of my team for a while when i built Eula, Hu tao, Keqing and Kokomi but since i've done that, I've been using her around inazuma and can say that she can do a lot of damage to the Samurais when hit with a headshot
Two of the issues I have with Amber is that 1) Enemies easily knock Baron Bunny around and 2) Baron Bunny has a tiny radius. When enemies aren't attacking they retreat to a certain distance and circle BB. This happens to be outside of BB's explosion radius. When they attack they can easily knock BB back a distance greater than the explosion radius again. It's really frustrating trying to utilize it.
Try to measure the time enemies arrive to it, Baron Bunny takes 8 almost 9 seconds to explode. If you throw it directly may get pushed, but a Sucrose can fix the problem at the 7th second
Ngl baron bunny takes so unbelievably long to explode considering it's her only dmg tool (constellations fix this issue but u don't get them so easily)
@@cat6th363 Any swirl character can help with it. I do wish that Baron Bunny does light damage before she explode. Maybe pyro application? It would make Amber's skill a bit more useful outside of taunting.
@@adam.n-steve You should only have to hit the BB instead of just the foot. that alone would already be a good buff. Your idea of auto pyro application is good aswell.
@@oscarfunez3806 Exactly! I would agree with that statement if it wasn't for the fact that Lisa and Kaeya are good. Kaeya is a pretty good support cuz his burst consume only 40 energy and his skill has a low cool down making cryo application easier. Lisa is a bit rusty but she's also quite decent. Her burst doesn't do amazing damage it can stun almost any small enemies nearby. Her element skill can also stack while doing damage and the stack can be made by using her charge attack so she is a pretty solid unit. The only problems she has are skill takes at least 2s which can be annoying and there are much better electro characters.
@@adam.n-steve I run Lisa with hydro characters. If you stack EM on her instead it's crazy. Most catalysts rely mainly on EM to do extra damage rather than raw damage alone. (Although this only matters more for Electro and Hydro catalysts). I run Lisa. Xinqiu. Kokomi and Currently testing between fischl and Mona (might switch back). The Electro charge is crazy when you begin to cycle each burst accordingly.
@@oscarfunez3806 same with overload, when you stack EM, overload dmg can skyrocket to 20k or so, pretty crazy if we combine it with a good sub dps and support
Pyro is such a abundant element with SO many good units (especially yoimiya which just outclasses amber in every way) that it's very hard for ambers lackluster kit to survive in the meta. The other 2 story characters have found success with certain teams but mostly kaeya and they've proved that story units CAN be very good in the meta (for example; Kaeya funds great success with C2 in many teams such as national, hutao, Childe, and even diluc. The problem with Amber is that she was designed to be used for puzzles and overworld shenanigans, not to be meta, which is ok, not every unit has to be viable.
i would say the only time i've seen Amber be decent is on a Hutao team. specifically with Elegy and preferably C6. it's considered to be the highest damage team for Hutao. but that is extremely niche because that means you need Elegy AND C6 (although i heard C6 isn't required) and also need to have an already really well built Hutao and Xingqiu so that you can kill everything before it kills you (this team usually runs Kazuha or C6 Sucrose so there is no healing or shield). basically a very niche endgame team, usually impossible for F2P players
@@SKsuprakirby with the new double banner reruns, i'm sure you won't have to wait too long for another Hutao rerun, if you still want her in the future. honestly at first i wasn't too keen on using her but i got used to her playstyle and it's quite fun and rewarding damage wise. very jealous of your C6 Xingqiu, i only have him at C0
One of the things that actually Limits Amber, is something that was meant to be a Strength for her: she was Designed to exaggerate the Greatest Strength of the Bow, Accuracy. Amber has things that boost her power when she headshots, Which compiles with the Bow's innate Ability to Just Crit when you headshot, so you don't Need to EVER Build crit rate on her or other Bow users. Her Barron Bunny Detonation requires that you be a Good enough shot to hit at it's Feet before it gets tossed around by enemy attacks, but if you can do it on 2 Barron Bunnies at the same time, it actually adds up to a Pair of VERY Mean Explosions on one enemy (Since each one adds 200% Atk Scaling to the Damage of the explosion). What Makes this a Problem though, is that Aiming for specific points like that Mid fight, Especially Tiny Heads like Fatui or Fast Moving Bosses like Childe, If actually Pretty Hard to do while you have to stay on the move and Wait for the shot to fully charge, But if you can pull it off, it CAN be Quite rewarding if inconsistent... There is an other way to Build and use Amber though... Her Burst Is actually designed to Set up reactions rather than Exploit them, which it actually does fairly well if you Pair her with a Hydro Character. And considering it's on a 12s Cooldown (That's as short as Burst Cooldowns go), Which also Happens to be the duration of the Noblesse Oblige 4-Piece Set Bonus. Combine this with her C6 (if you're one of the Lucky few that got it), and say the "Elegy of the End" 5* Bow You can stack all these effects up to allow her to give a 55-75% Atk Boost along with 100-200 Elemental Mastery and 15% Move speed to your Entire Party with the use of her burst, which if you're doing it right should be every 12s. Put her in a team with Bennet, so that their Atk Buffs can stack up with each other AND you get the Pyro resonance buff, and a Hydro Character to benefit from her Pyro Application (Like say Childe), Leaving you an open slot on your Team, Possibly for Sucrose to Exploit that EM Buff. All put together Amber can actually be a Decent Offensive Support Character, With her burst doing some OK non-reaction damage pretty Often and Sustaining a Decent amount of Buffs to your team. Also, Amber is a GLORIOUS character for Just plain doing Funny stuff in the overworld... Pair her up with Raiden and All of a Sudden she's a 1 Shot Explosive Sniper, Headshot Damage+ Raiden support attack + Overload = No Hilichurl can survive the first shot from half the Map away, and even if they survive, by the time they stand up from the Knockup from Overload, you next shot is ready to fly.... Also YEETing Two Baron Bunnies into the Air ALONG with 3-4 Small Enemies at the same time with just the right timing with Jean is HILARIOUS, Functional Fireworks! (The timing is at about 8 seconds after you throw the bunny By the way...) Oh and a Sidenote for those of you that made it this far in my Wall of text: Baron Bunnies Detonate when they Get hit with Overloads you detonate with Amber, Which makes it Much easier to hit them and get that extra damage out from Detonating them Manually!
aiming for the tiny heads isn't at all a problem. the problem is that many enemies do not have a weak point, or have one that's not always available to target
Good luck aiming for the head when there is a constant amount of fire on the ground you have to avoid or enemies constantly gangbanging you from every angle. Genshin Impact is not Skyrim where you can snipe from stealth. The implementation of bows is poorly matched to the gameplay. Hell a lot of bosses and large mobs are poorly matched to the gameplay. I am so sick of bosses and large mobs being allowed to use cheat codes to be immune to CCs and interupts.
@@GeorgeMonet its not bad, just different. i hate to use the old addage of 'git gud scrub' but thats just how the bow works. it takes patients and practice to use the aimshot effectivly, but once you get there its a great source of dmg. its not for everyone but for thre ones that do like it its great.
This is why I wish they made getting constellation for free units easier. They already take a lot of work to get a useable build but without constellation they are just unusable, maybe with exception of Kaeya but even he gets from usable to good with constellations. It'd be great if they just gave one constellation per event to a free character featured in them or something similar. Anything that would reward commitment with a better free unit. After all they are still on the bottom of the tier list even a C6.
Amber carried me through abyss, dealing 35k per hit (melt) from a safe place, making decoys. I think I did get so familiar to her skills it makes me impossible to replace her
Amber still has some niche uses as Burst support, and it's good enough that sometimes she's banned in speedruns. You mention Amber's burst hits 18 times as a bad thing (and to be fair, it is bad if your goal is to make Amber a DPS unit); BUT for some characters it becomes a huge benefit for support. Because it hits so many times in quick succession, it allows multi-hit hydro & cryo moves to vape or melt every hit. (Assuming a large enough solo target so that all of her burst shots hit, she applies Pyro 6 times in 2 seconds due to internal cooldown) (e.g. 2 Sac Sword Xingqiu skills back to back; or Chongyun's burst. If you use Amber's burst right before either of these moves, all 4 of Xingqiu's hits will vape or all 5 of Chongyun's burst will melt. No other pyro support can do this) Plus, Amber has the benefit of having the smallest energy cost and cooldown time on her burst, letting her spam it very quickly and have the best uptime on the Elegy bow buff and Noblesse buff. So Amber does have a really strong niche, but it's honestly kind of an accident. She's terrible outside of it still.
That’s all for speed running. For 99% of players who aren’t giga whales, no one uses her for that. Amber used to be in a semi-meta team with Hu Tao for pyro res and to trigger kazuha’s Viridescent, but since Thoma came out, he took Amber’s job.
Amber will give you more damage than Thoma if you run Elegy bow + Noblesse on her... but that's getting into whale territory. It's especially the case if she's C6 since that gives her burst an extra atk buff to the party... (but who realistically has that...?) Thoma is better for safety and low investment. I'm not sure where the transition is for when Amber outperforms Thoma. But just the fact that she's in the cheapest burst cost/cooldown bracket makes me prefer Amber for the Noblesse spam in situations where I have a pyro DPS, want a pyro support for resonance, and can't use Bennett (Amber has a permanent spot on my Hu Tao team).
Mmm ok so for that all point of her being used so often by mihoyo i would say it's mostly because she is meant to be the secondary mascot together with Barbara to a certain extent, like seriously Amber's entire design oozes with mascot energy, her clothing choices, her personality, the fact she literally makes dolls of herself that do a little mascot dance, so honestly she is used so much by mihoyo just because she was designed to be used for marketing purposes 1st and foremost, her relevance as a playable character always felt to me as just "the one character u learn how to use bows with" Especially since the baron bunnies draw the enemy's attention away from u while u aim
Interestingly enough, amber is actually really good for speedruns because her birthday applies pyro so fast, so hydro and cryo characters can vaporize all of their hits, at least for those 2 seconds, hence the speedrun
I just want to mention that amber has found a niche, a good one at that, as a support for hu tao team. Ironically, her weakness (how her fiery rain only last 2 sec and comes with lots of small damage instances) is actually her claim to fame. Because her damage is so negligible and it's worthless to infest in her artifacts, she found herself to be a really good instructor holder. She, in conjunction with anemo character, unlock hu tao strongest hyper carry teamcomp with just instructor artifact. And her massive amount of fiery rain arrows actually worked so well with Elegy bow, which incidentally also in homa banner. And taunt is a very underutilized skill in this game, except probably by solo ganyu. Admittedly, baron bunny is lacking in term of utility as a battery, and i kinda hope they buff it so it no longer move like ganyu's taunt and generate particle instantly instead of on detonation hit. Overall really good video, addressing what went wrong with her. Although recently, she got something going on for her so i just wanna mention it.
It's just so sad that she is doomed to stay "irrelevant" in terms of combat-power. If she were a random 4* character to just come out eventually who has proper skills/power scaling people would love her. I mean, her character-design is just so damn loveable.
I don't use her much, but she's a pretty good sub-DPS and/or Cryo applier, if, and only if, you don't have Ganyu, which I don't. Her Skill's actuall pretty good, and I have the "40% chance to instant recharge" bow on her, so her tap attacks often deal Cryo, and lots of mines are also placed around. Her burst also does a decent amount of damage. Again, Ganyu's still much better if you have her though.
personally I think they intentional messed her up to encourage (force) you to roll on the banners for characters that weren't messed up through she is one of my favourite characters in game such a lovely girl and baron bunny is adorable.
Watching this after Lyney’s release, my guy is literally a well-executed 5* Amber (Pyro bow, good DPS, has taunts THAT EXPLODE ON DEMAND WITH HIS SKILL) 😭
There are a couple of notes here i want to adress "She is a free unit, she is not supposed to be good" while i can "somewhat" get where this is coming from, kaeya is among the best 4* we have currently, if only he wasn't gate by stupid standard banner rules he would be incredibly more popular, he can reach numbers up to xiangling and even more. and geo and electro mc are not that bad. "noone uses her" well, amber is currently an amazing support for hu tao if you have elegy, so much so that hu tao xingqiu amber and kazuha are the current strongest team for hu tao. this is all ***thanks to*** fiery rain which attacks really fast and is able to proc the effect instantly, and generally among whales ambers is way more popular because at c6 she is pretty good but generally i agree with this video.
Another defense for Amber would be is that Xiangling is meta meaning people are gonna put her in more meta teams so Amber can fill the role instead of Xiangling and for Bennett, he's not always a good supporter especially for Hu Tao like you said. Also, Mona's omen burst after 2 seconds and Fiery Rain lasts for 2 seconds and on top of that, she's surprisingly a good supporter for all hyrdo characters besides BarBRUH.
The fact that her usability is locked behind being c6 OR having a 5 star weapon when a lot of f2p players will not be pulling for weapon banner that often and only for their main dps, that doesn't really sound that great :/
I was using Amber in the beginning of my game. Until 30 AR. I have so much good and warm memories with her. She saved my life many times in Dragonspine, lightning up torches. Because I didn't know about warm soup that can slow down character freezing.
This has been said a lot a times but I would like to give my take on the way to buff her baron bunny. Yes, her C2 alows us to shot the bunny to detonate it faster, but we have to especifically shot its foot, and if you are bad at aiming like me, it is unlikely you will be able to do it (on top of how easy the enemies knock the bunny out of the way). My idea would not simply be so you can shot the bunny head to detonate, but make it so that IF you hit its foot, the damage multiplaeir would be ludicrously bigger. In my eyes, that would make Amber a similiar situasion as league of legends Ashe, in the sense that she would be a easy to play, hard to master unit.
Even then, it would still be hard to play, but that comes with a huge drawback. Amber users still drop a bunny just for taunting even at c2+, and making it so that you can shoot its head so that it detonates would ruin that with accidental detonations.
@@MicrocarpaRutaceae Consider how big BB is relative to everyone's size, I don't think it's muck of an issue. I rarely have the chance to utilize BB taunt doe to BB got knocked around and out of argo range by random Hilichurt.
I've just now realized you are supposed to aim for the foot because of it being a lucky rabbit's foot. In which case, let me aim for the head and the foot let's the blast be wider or crit or something.
I played aimlab and I am so shit at aiming that 95% of fps gamers are better than me, and I still hit the baron bunny feet with ease, making baron bunny heavier to the point of not getting pushed much is a better buff
I like using Amber, personally. I pair her with Mona to inflict long range vaporize damage, and Baron Bunny has saved my neck a few times by distracting hordes of enemies that swarmed me at a bad time. Don’t think the bunny has ever killed an enemy, but he’s a handy distraction and can break ore deposits. It also helps that she has a cute voice and peppy personality, though I’m sure that’s probably annoying to some. I know she’s far from the best character, but I still like using her, and since it’s a single player adventure game, you won’t need the best most of the time.
Imagine if Amber charged shots planted some "bomb" at the impact area, which would explode after like 1 second, dealing AoE around the target that was hit (be it enemy or environment) Or if there was a Rainslasher-like Bow
I love this type of videos not just explaining why a character is underplayed, but just having all the details laid out for that specific character. I would to see a odd video on why so and so is used a lot or something. Love this a bunch so keep it up
Amber is easy to fix. Increase the radius of her ulti by like 400%. Then make the baron bunny able to take and store damage you inflict to it. Once it's hp goes to 0 it amplifies all of the damage it took by 50% and deals it to enemies as an explosion. This would make it possible for her to be a support and not waste her effort at destroying the baron bunny. It also opens up the ability to ulti it for a lot of damage.
My favourite F2P friendly bow user is definitely Fischl. The fact that she has a literal bird imbue her normal bow attacks with electro and it even works off field. She's been in my team along with Kaveh, Kaeya and Barbara for a while now.
I was in the dragonspire domain and I died within two hits. Amber was left fighting the abyss mage and Lawachurl. It was fucking awesome how she soloed it. They went after her baron bunny and that gave her time to charge and dodge.
You sir are the reason that this week, as my first, Amber will have her first (of 3) Talents crowned. Only took me 2 months of semi dedicated gameplay to reach this point since starting out. But man, seeing the damage numbers go down even when you upgrade your characters thanks to world level is pretty disheartening... I can easily hit for 15k per charged shot or 6 per not fully charged shot, but it is really difficult to think that without constellations, there are not too many things I can upgrade in the future...
@@aatb3719 Yeah, I love her. However I have terrible artifacts and I can see she relies on them a bit too much. Saving primos and some resources for Yae Miko, but in the meantime Amber and Lisa will have to carry me.
Amber just needs a larger Baron bunny explosion range, more Baron Bunny damage, consistent ult damage inside the circle, and more vertical range on ult.
The problem with her is she has no supporting potential and can only be played as a dps, but as you said a huge part of her dps potential is hidden behind her constellations, which are extremely hard to get But hey, I use her in my open world team still because I love her design and personality, currently I have an C1 Amber and hopefully get her to C2 the next time she comes to Paimon’s shop and try to use her in abyss As an Amber Main, it doesn’t matter for me that people say she’s bad, yes she is, but she isn’t useless or mustn’t be played, as long as you’re not rude against people who uses her you can just not use her and call her bad Have a nice day
Awesome that you finally made this video about amber! :D I actually anticipated to see you cover that topic. Just a fair note: There are actually less people who play Lisa, traveler, Aloy and someone else i don't remember now. I'm taking this usage from spiral abyss % use.
Well I do know a lot of people use Amber purely out of spite toward the meta players who say she's bad, to try and "prove them wrong", so that might contribute to the higher number of players using her over Lisa and traveler.
@@starlette7820 while this may be true, I'm more fond of idea that those are just casuals who don't need much in their life to be happy. Judging by what kind of discussions people have on r/ambermains they're all about waifu>meta, and just doing damage with charged attacks is enough to fill their serotonin levels. On top of that those are very loyal people in general. They saw her at the very start and stuck with her till now. She is a awesome waifu though. She's one of top sweetest characters
@@khonsenwright4986 Yeah honestly those are probably the majority, I was just saying that she probably has a higher pick rate in places like the abyss because of the people who pick out of spite. Casuals wouldn't really care about the abyss and would probably stick to the overworld for most of their gameplay. Also I am also a person who values love of a character over Meta, Meta does not matter to me one iota even as someone who plays through the abyss, so I'm not saying any of this to try and defend the side who hate on Amber, I just know there are people out there who are like that and there are quite a few of them. And I have nothing to say on your personal opinion of her except that I don't feel the same way though, I personally find her to be quite bland in terms of waifu characters, but her design is kind of cute at the very least. But that's all just personal opinion and doesn't really matter in the end.
As someone who has been using Amber in every party comp since i’ve started playing the game. (I when’t through Dragonspine while horribly under leveled and since Amber carried me through it she’s been my main since) I agree with most of the points you’ve brought up here. I do wish that she gets buffed in the future tho. Though honestly idk how to do it. Great video!
I'd say remove the physics from Baron Bunny, make the blast larger and move the ability to manually detonate it from Amber's Constellations to her basic kit would be a start.
I’ve had a lot of fun with her, Albedo, Bennett, and Aether/Itto (Aether before Itto released) in one party. Her ult lasts long enough to where Alb’s E procs multiple times, and Bennett plus pyro synergy makes it so her ult is ready before the cooldown is over a decent amount of the time, always ready when Itto is done with his ult with how I cycle through.
Amber is currently my highest level character (lvl 80) and the one I play the most. I know shes probably the worst playable character but I have fun playing her and that's what it's all about X)
Here’s a story that’s not really related but still is? I remember I got Amber C1 like two weeks into the game maybe and my sister laughed and told me I had to use her. I grew attached but I spent a month hoping I’d get C2 because of how useless Baron Bunny is otherwise. Now I actually do have C2 but I don’t use Amber anymore unfortunately :(
@@heistingcrusader_ad3223 I could, but right now I'm very focused on building other characters (such as Hu Tao). In the future, if I have the chance I might build her properly!
Well I got Amber C2 and that's the only reason why I'm even considering to use her,but unfortunately she has much better alternatives that do things way better than her.
The biggest buff they could give Amber would be to add her to the event rate up. If you could easily get her, then stuff like her c2 and c6 wouldn't be as bad because there's a good chance you're going to have that anyway. that or being to control when baron bunny breaks by recasting her skill (like Keqing's skill)
I've watched your league of legends videos before, and I didn't realize you made genshin content, too! Loved this video, and as a Kokomi main, I would love to see a video on her as well!
There are three ways I could see going with this. The first would be to have her have a special "inspiration" talent such that, when she's in a party, other characters' abilities are 1.5x stronger or longer duration (or both). The second would be to give her some more "Outrider Skills" so that it's helpful to have her in your Overworld party, like if she had additional stealth and speed on the field, maybe even having the enemies lose track of her when she disappears behind cover so that she has some extra seconds to power her charged shots. That way, she might not be as powerful, but she'd at least be useful as a sniper and/or scout. As a third option, that I just thought of while writing this, and that would be to have her charged shot continue to increase in damage-potential. That is, the longer she holds it, the more and more powerful it continues to get, up to some surprisingly high values at 90. Again, this might be more useful on the Overworld, where she might use it to snipe the more troublesome sub-bosses or disrupt some of the new group-spawns where they are deliberately exploiting elemental synergies against the players in cheap and annoying ways. It would give us a reason to find her more useful or playable, at any rate.
Back when I didn't have yanfei yet, Amber was my go-to when fighting eye of the storms and ruin guards. I kinda miss aiming for the ruin guard's eye and having them just flop down for a few seconds.
im anticipating Amber ulti will be massively buffed with dendro character, it seems each of her ult's arrows can proc reaction for fast shield break, with dendro character that can crowd control and gather, she cn burn them all with ult, stacking up "burn"s on the enemies
To fix the Starter Trio, I think the best way is the opposite approach: make their C0 unimpressive and perhaps even downright weak combat-wise, instead focusing on puzzle and exploration while giving them more potent Constellations. (possibly making their C6 a tad bit overpowered even) In Amber's case, I'd do the following: C0 = Jump on Baron Bunny, get launched into Glide. Less damage and small blast. (A watered down version Venti's Hold E in a nutshell) C0 = Burst hit count halved for more spaced out shots. (same total duration) C1 = Shoot Baron Bunny (anywhere) for wide blast. Normal Detonations now do more damage. C2 = 2nd Skill Stock unlocked. Increased throw distance for both tap and hold. C4 = Burst does 14 hits again, but the extra hits deal Physical damage. Party Buffs last 12 second. (same as Burst Cooldown) C6 = Second Arrow, but it deals full damage like in the Beta. Plunge Attacks while Gliding deal Fire DMG. Some ideas I adapted from my old rework plan, which didn't take combat into account much, so perhaps this won't be to everyone's liking but I believe it would make Amber a passable combatant while staying true to her lore/character.
Baron Bunny could have been like Maokai's Saplings, her bunny motif could be much evident like about mid-air aimshots instead of raining arrows during her plunge attacks too.
If Amber need buff, it should be BB and the FR. BB right now is like you said, gives no damage until it explode, and the aggro doesn't always work. Either give it some DoT effect or enlarge the damage radius. For FR while it doesn't work well with ER, it does strip shield like no other. Mihoyo can give it some DoT, give debuff to enemy, or giving it an chained effect if used with BB so Amber can be focused for Solo DPS.
She can be viable if u have elegy of the end and build her as a burst support she proqs elegy with C6 gives 15% speed and attack boost and pyro resonance. And u can quadra vape her q with xinqui. Really good in hutao teams.
Well, given that the drops have never once given me another flame character since I started, Amber is all I got. And I've learnt to appreciate her out of necessity.
One of the things that confuses me about Amber is that, when played correctly, she only ever peaks as "adequate," but at the same time, the "correct" ways to play Amber are _100% unique_ to her. If you grow to love Amber's DPS playstyles, there is not a single unit in the game that asks for those same techniques. She's supposed to teach you about charge shots and aiming, but only one other bow user relies on charge shots and she doesn't even care about aiming. Bunny Bomber requires completely unique skills that are only needed by Amber, and Headshot Amber requires a completely unique artifact set that actively discourages rolling Crit Rate despite needing Crit Damage. If you have a complete artifact set for Headshot Amber, there is not a single other build in the game that those artifacts can be used for, not even other Amber builds. I play Amber because I love landing those headshots, but there's not a single other character in the game that can scratch that same itch; not even Ganyu. Why is such a challenging, fun, playstyle locked behind a single character, whose damage with that playstyle only barely matches what other characters can do with much less effort? Precise Shot is literally my favourite Talent in the game.
using Amber is like trying to use a sniper rifle in a game of tag or dodgeball. its extreamly difficult but once you get the hanng of it the rewards are endless.
Amber really is the only sniper rifle in the game isn't she, so people who like playing as a sniper are practically forced to use her if they want to play that way.
Vars, I just downloaded Genshin Impact today and just got done with playing for the first time. Thank you for exposing me to this game, the visuals are amazing and I look forward to watching your Genshin videos.
I enjoy using her from time to time. I have her C6 from when I whaled in the standard banner at launch 1.0 and have her companionship 10. Sure I wish her kit was better but I understand that she’s a starter unit and won’t get fixed anytime soon.
Idk if anyone else feels this way, but as an Amber main, I really don't care about damage. Like sure, I'll farm for artifacts and drop the occasional $12 for a weapon-pull. But if the core fighting-part doesn't bring me any satisfaction, then there's no point in playing. That's why instead of building Amber primarily around how much damage she can get, I create her build around getting the most out of being in aimed-shot mode. Most enemies (apart from big bosses) will be distracted by Amber's Baron Bunny, regardless of whether they stay in its explosive-range or not. This gives me plenty of time to position myself and pick them off any way I like. By equipping the Prototype Crescent bow, I'm able to get an increase in movement speed with every hit I get on a weak point. By the time Baron Bunny explodes, most enemies are either already taken-out or at half health. At this point, I'm practically running circles around them. I don't even have to exit aimed-mode to run away or dodge attacks. It's almost like playing a first-person shooter. As for the other team members, I feel like their synergy is... a little unorthodox. Noelle has been my go-to healer since day one, being able to protect my team with shields and go gorilla-mode when my team's health is low. For Amber, being protected by a safety-bubble while running around foes is a nice form of insurance. This is especially so while trying to find weak-points on enemies whose aren't very clear, or enemies that simply don't have one at all. Rosaria is great for both tagging characters with the cryo element and getting movement speed to greater heights. With her passive, I'm able to get another 20% movement speed during nighttime, adding the to 10% increase I already get from hitting weak-points with Amber. Sometimes I'll even change the time before a battle, just so I can run around like a red blur. Sayu's been the newest addition to my team, as that 4th slot has been going through characters like copy paper. With Sayu's elemental skill, I'm able to pick-up elements in the surrounding area, tagging enemies and rolling away into a favorable position before switching to Amber and firing away. There's a plethora of unique strategies and combination-moves to be had with this team, but the base game-plan stays the same; set the stage how I want it, move to favorable position, and snipe away. This game-plan doesn't always translate well against certain opponents. I've had a lot of trouble against the ronin-guys especially, who tend to have a knack for excessively dodging once I've gotten the perfect shot locked on their heads. Even certain bosses like Childe and Azhdaha are harder since they don't have clear weak points, forcing me to rely on my other characters (I literally learned where Azhdaha's weak point is by watching this video). However, I still find the whole challenge of "aiming for the bullseye" per say to be much more enjoyable than spamming every elemental skill/burst under each character's belt until the enemy just so happens to run out of health. It just feels like you're being rewarded for mindlessly spamming the Q and E buttons rather than positional mind-games or taking advantage of the environment. I see the value in such a god-like power fantasy, as do the hundreds of people putting likes on clips showcasing players executing big bosses with ludicrous damage-numbers. I personally just look at those types of videos and just kinda... fall asleep, to put it mildly. I know I'm probably in the minority of players (part of which is just being an Amber main) for thinking this way. Ultimately, like Vars said, it's a single player game, so there's literally no reason to get all ruffled if someone plays a character you wouldn't even think of touching with a 50-foot pole. I just wanted to share my perspective/insight on why, with such odds stacked against her, someone might decide to stick with playing the little red bunny girl.
Your comments summed up a good portion of my playtime until Inazuma came round. Amber carried me on her back, then Keqing took over, then both got outclassed towards the end. Which makes me sad because while I have some powerful units now, the gameplay and fun I had with both Amber and Keqing is gone. Well...for now, I imagine I'll eventually rethink builds for both once I'm in a comfortable spot (i.e no characters I want to acquire).
@@kuricosmos For sure. I stopped playing around the same time Inazuma came out, but not because I found interest in new characters. I eventually got pretty content with my team, and I found Inazuma pretty disappointing in terms of story/characters/quest-lines in comparison to Mondstadt and Liyue. Since I'm pretty content with how my main 4 are, I don't have any motivation to keep grinding until the next expansion comes out. Really enjoyed the time I put into it, but I'd rather play something else now.
Very nice series! I've started an alt account where I decided to just do everything I normally wouldn't do on my main. While I don't consider myself a metaslave, I did end up going towards stronger units like Eula and Xiao, and while my first (and currently only until Xiao gets his final) triple crowned main is the 4 star Beidou, her kit is still considered better than that of say, Amber. So I decided to go with main DPS Amber and Barbara just to see how far I could get now that I'm not walking into the game blindly and have some knowledge of how to build characters so I can give them the best start possible. You know, instead of realizing I was doing everything wrong at like AR50 and having to completely redo all my builds like on my main... I ended up abandoning Barb just because I don't enjoy the stamina issues with most catalysts, and settled for Ningguang who has methods to alleviate that (so all dps barb mains out you I salute ya!). So far though, Amber is still going strong. I haven't reached floors 9-12 of abyss yet and I'm not expecting this account to fully clear floor 12 anytime soon (if ever) since this is my alt and I'm just not investing as much into it, but it's been fun to play in full aimed shot mode and I think is translating to making content on my main much easier! I'm using her with Rosaria and she's hitting good melt damage, I'm happy to give her some love even if I know she's such a weak unit by comparison
some people ( speedrunners ) like Amber's fast pyro application from her ult it allows Xingqiu with sac sword to quad vape, all of chongyuns ult to melt, and some other synergies with very specific characters and scenarios
Amber will always have a use for me... until I get another about 40 seeds of flame and never need to break cryo regisvine sheild again... but she'll have a spot in my party for like another 16 boss fights ever.
Honestly, I love having Amber on my team. I made her gain her burst quickly and it deals a stupid amount of damage. Though, I'm starting to switch her out for Fischl since I have Xiangling as my main DPS.
One important thing you missed is that her burst is a good enabler for Vaporizing Xingqiu's skill 4 times with his sac sword or to melt Chongyun's burst all 4 times of you have C6 Chongyun. Still not the best character, and she's genuinely good on a Hu Tao team and uses Elegy well, but for F2P even the Hu Tao team is now preferring Thomas's shield generally. Either way Hu Tao wants someone to apply pyro without her having to use her skill and burst so that an anemo character can VV shred. Bennett should be a natural choice except Hu Tao prefers less healing than Bennett provides.
I'm actually trying to build Amber and have been using her a lot, she's definitely not easy to play with but I find the challenge makes her fun to use. I use her as a support Pyro applier with mobs, such as in domains. I use either Venti or Sucrose to gather then apply Baron Bunny, with Favonius Warbow, she will quickly get a burst to continually dock down HP. This gives me time to recover at a distance and maybe heal or gain energy for my main. She works best also with anyone who can quickly apply cryo or hydro because of how her burst works, for my second party, I put her on the same team as Xingqiu and Chongyun.
It's sad that people overlook amber's 909% burst damage multiplier at c0 amd 1200% at c3.forget reactions it's still raw damage which you can always support through viridescent shreds
Amber ultimate is the best part of her kit. Not because of DMG, but both cooldown and energy cost. 12s cooldown and only 40 energy makes her perfect for Noblesse Oblige bearer. This set also have 12 second cooldown, which basically mean, that you can have 4-piece set permanently active. Add C6 to it (which I luckily got) and you can get a pretty good amount of additional attack. Is it as good as Benny attack boost? Not really. But to play abyss you need two teams, and Benny is only one, so it is still valuable. I still have her in my main team to snap boosts that she gives with Ganyu ultimate, and I don't regret it in the slightest.
Surprisingly enough with elergy she is a good pick for hu tao/ vap one shot with childe burst/ speed run with xq main dps as she can make all for 4 strikes of his e(with sac) vaps
Amber is absolutely one of my favorite characters among the playable ones. But it is true that she's quite niche. I totally invested on her but I never used her in Abyss.
Amber is one of my best characters, her easy to predict baron bunny distraction is vital for me. I have her ability to double shot and get intense weak point damage and I'm pretty good at it. I just can't replace her! XD
the worst thing about aamber is that i decided to use her as a demo for lyney by giving her lyneys artifacts and weapons and at level 60 with talent level 4 at c3 she dealt 42k damage
Amber is my fave ^-^ she's the first character I got to level 90 and crowned. I know she'll never be good as an hypercarry 5 star character like Xiao or Hu Tao, but I still find her pretty fun to play with, and she can easily beat lvl 90 domains and bosses / weekly bosses, even as the ONLY dps in my party, I also love her character bg and aesthetic. I 100% agree with your video, its harder to use bow characters, its extremely harder to get her cons and her BIS artifact set (the wanderers) is also harder to farm unlike any other artifact set that can be obtained via specific domain And in a game like genshin that gives you so much things to do to level up a character with so many limitated resources you def want to invest in stronger characters first... I really hope Hoyo buffs her and other characters like Keqing, which is also my fave, and I just realised I use the worst 4 star and the worst 5 star in the game lol.
Her kits need rework but knowing that Ganyu exist with same but better kits the said rework might be hard to do since when u see something good the other become bad, well money. Lol
Because a lot of players skips her, there is a lot of things with her kit that no one knows. Here is some of things that I found out. 1. Pairing her with raiden creates a "budget" pyro ganyu. Raiden's E that hits after Amber's charge shot creates explosion that skales from EM. With good balance in stats, counting all hits it will deal around 30k with each charged attack. 2. Her burst works really good with Mona burst. Their durations and damage scaling works pretty good, and so if Mona your first 5* character, using Amber to get maximum damage from Mona's burst is one of the best options. 3. There is a lot of ranged attacks that choose closest to enemy targets. Baron bunny is a perfect distraction for those attacks. Couple examples is Signora and Azhdaha cryo projectiles, Cicin mage and Abyss lector electro projectiles, and most importantly one of the Pyro auras that enemy can have, where they create a homing projectile that deals pulsing damage, it would folow you for 3-4 times, but dropping close to it baron bunny first time and it switches targets.
One of my parties had all my old characters in it from when I had just started playing and so I’ve recently been using that party just for fun and side quests and honestly it’s pretty fun to play with her sometimes I literally just deploy the little plushy thing that she has and watch her dance
I dunno man, i really wish she had more aimed shot synergy. Maybe we could give her a faster aimed shot while Baron Bunny is on the field, and perhaps a longer range than any other bow user. We sacrifice her dogshit aoe clearence for actually fast paced sniper gameplay. That would increase her dps and put her on an unique position. I dunno man, i just wanted amber mains to get a W for once
As an Amber main, the only buff that I desperately need is for the condition to manually detonate Baron Bunny be changed to just pressing a hotkey/button bcs having to do a full charged shot disrupts the flow of the battle, the condition to do it on its feet is rlly ridiculously specific & if Baron Bunny's on a puddle you can't charged shot its feet. Also this way it's easier to consistently gain particles for her, especially when using her as a support/battery.
I'm an amber main from ar 1 to ar 57 rn and I just saw your video on why no one play albedo. I searched why no one play amber and my jaw dropped when you said this is the first video of the series why no one play. I understand why she is the first to be picked but damn I took that personally T_T

Ahh makes sense
Oooooh, I was wondering about that. That's a pain in the butt. :/
I just hope this doesn’t happen again
that's just sad :(
Honestly Amber’s c2 should have been a part of her kit from the beginning. It’s crazy how difficult it is to get her constellations even though they provide her with such a huge power spike
I use her and yeah that C2 make a difference.
But please make it as "shoot the big head" not the stubby toes that stupid bunny does
And sadly, i even get her to C4 out of nowhere, but still doesn't use her.
Soloing Amber is Genshin's hidden "hard mode."
I recommend people start an alt account using only Amber.
You have to pay a LOT more attention to the game mechanics.
I actually did start another account where I wanted to play the game without wishing except on the beginner timed banner with Noelle but it's hard to maintain two genshin accounts. You have too much grinding to do on my main account lol.
I mained Amber until inazuma, i have to lower the world level to continue as the samura got too tanky for my Amber and ningguang
i'm still maining amber until now. I only let her out of my team for a while when i built Eula, Hu tao, Keqing and Kokomi but since i've done that, I've been using her around inazuma and can say that she can do a lot of damage to the Samurais when hit with a headshot
Amber is on my Team 97% of the time, and she's not even my Main DPS. But I built her "like a dps"
@@krahvata *laughs when maintaining 3 accounts and one is F2P*
But hey, she's still the 2nd best pyro bow dps

Big KEKW
Well, he isn't wrong
r/technicallythetruth
For players who don't have the 1st best though, she's the 1st :D
They could just fix it by having it explode when a monster hits it...

@@magimegan facts
It seems legit. She is a tuto character as you know her beginning the adventure like Lisa to learn about ranged damage and reactions.
Except the other starter characters are actually solid units you can run in a set of teams.
@@oscarfunez3806 + Hakushin ring
@@Flameysaur If i knew this earlier i would be able to actually do that team. I already have Sucrose and Xingqiu C6. But i didn't pulled Hu Tao.
Yoimiya herself is outclassed by xiangling.
Who does more single target damage.
It's like reverse power creep lol.
Really? Aren't all the bow users except Ganyu & Venti are useless.
My 4 piece Thundering Fury Raiden with EM focus agrees. She doubles Ambers damage thanks to overload (sub 17k procs) Really fun to play.
I think I did get so familiar to her skills it makes me impossible to replace her
i think i can 9 star up to abyss 11 with amber. ima try later.
i've done 80+30k (c1) melts with her before
May I ask what team did you use?
same! mine does 45k tho w melt, and 50-55k with melt if using adeptus temptation. 106k w the bunny
(Assuming a large enough solo target so that all of her burst shots hit, she applies Pyro 6 times in 2 seconds due to internal cooldown)
(e.g. 2 Sac Sword Xingqiu skills back to back; or Chongyun's burst. If you use Amber's burst right before either of these moves, all 4 of Xingqiu's hits will vape or all 5 of Chongyun's burst will melt. No other pyro support can do this)
Plus, Amber has the benefit of having the smallest energy cost and cooldown time on her burst, letting her spam it very quickly and have the best uptime on the Elegy bow buff and Noblesse buff. So Amber does have a really strong niche, but it's honestly kind of an accident. She's terrible outside of it still.
I usually use Amber's burst to shred Cryo Abyss Mage and Lector shield!! It's super fast, and with Noblesse + Crimson set, it's crazy ✨
(but who realistically has that...?)
Thoma is better for safety and low investment.

Itto also seems to be another "taunt done right" character, the bulk deals massive damage and provides buffs for itto
It's just so sad that she is doomed to stay "irrelevant" in terms of combat-power. If she were a random 4* character to just come out eventually who has proper skills/power scaling people would love her. I mean, her character-design is just so damn loveable.
You should do a "Why NO ONE Plays: Aloy" next.
Why not comment the same thing
I don't use her much, but she's a pretty good sub-DPS and/or Cryo applier, if, and only if, you don't have Ganyu, which I don't.
Her Skill's actuall pretty good, and I have the "40% chance to instant recharge" bow on her, so her tap attacks often deal Cryo, and lots of mines are also placed around. Her burst also does a decent amount of damage. Again, Ganyu's still much better if you have her though.

There are a couple of notes here i want to adress
"She is a free unit, she is not supposed to be good" while i can "somewhat" get where this is coming from, kaeya is among the best 4* we have currently, if only he wasn't gate by stupid standard banner rules he would be incredibly more popular, he can reach numbers up to xiangling and even more. and geo and electro mc are not that bad.
"noone uses her" well, amber is currently an amazing support for hu tao if you have elegy, so much so that hu tao xingqiu amber and kazuha are the current strongest team for hu tao. this is all ***thanks to*** fiery rain which attacks really fast and is able to proc the effect instantly, and generally among whales ambers is way more popular because at c6 she is pretty good
but generally i agree with this video.
Another defense for Amber would be is that Xiangling is meta meaning people are gonna put her in more meta teams so Amber can fill the role instead of Xiangling and for Bennett, he's not always a good supporter especially for Hu Tao like you said. Also, Mona's omen burst after 2 seconds and Fiery Rain lasts for 2 seconds and on top of that, she's surprisingly a good supporter for all hyrdo characters besides BarBRUH.
she can also proc 4 pc instuctor set, you can built hutao without any EM at all and get all you need from elegy intsuctor amber
The fact that her usability is locked behind being c6 OR having a 5 star weapon when a lot of f2p players will not be pulling for weapon banner that often and only for their main dps, that doesn't really sound that great :/

Thank you. This is exactly how I would wish for Amber rework
Imagine if Amber charged shots planted some "bomb" at the impact area, which would explode after like 1 second, dealing AoE around the target that was hit (be it enemy or environment)
Or if there was a Rainslasher-like Bow
did you mean something like sara’s skill?
thats kind of like her c2 effect i suppose!
I love this type of videos not just explaining why a character is underplayed, but just having all the details laid out for that specific character. I would to see a odd video on why so and so is used a lot or something. Love this a bunch so keep it up
I have 21 characters now & Amber is still my favourite character. 💛
this video was uploaded more times than amber has ever been used u.u
Amber is easy to fix. Increase the radius of her ulti by like 400%. Then make the baron bunny able to take and store damage you inflict to it. Once it's hp goes to 0 it amplifies all of the damage it took by 50% and deals it to enemies as an explosion. This would make it possible for her to be a support and not waste her effort at destroying the baron bunny. It also opens up the ability to ulti it for a lot of damage.
Me who has Amber maxed in every way possible and has been on my team from the beginning: *Sadge*
I love amber. Shes been on my team since I first started playing (November 29 2020) and she's helped me throughout the entire game.
I love her design, her personality, she was the mascot for the game before it came out. Mihoyo did her so dirty
Sad they decided to make her weak, because being a free story unit does not have to mean weak so lure players into gacha.
A couple of weeks playing Genshin... I love Amber lol she's my main dps and I'm putting my resources into her.
@@esaualfaro3447 You still maining her?
@@aatb3719 Yeah, I love her. However I have terrible artifacts and I can see she relies on them a bit too much.
Saving primos and some resources for Yae Miko, but in the meantime Amber and Lisa will have to carry me.
@@esaualfaro3447 I see, yeah, Yae is probably going to be the best DPS, so it's wise to wait for her. Good luck with her then!
Amber just needs a larger Baron bunny explosion range, more Baron Bunny damage, consistent ult damage inside the circle, and more vertical range on ult.
The problem with her is she has no supporting potential and can only be played as a dps, but as you said a huge part of her dps potential is hidden behind her constellations, which are extremely hard to get
But hey, I use her in my open world team still because I love her design and personality, currently I have an C1 Amber and hopefully get her to C2 the next time she comes to Paimon’s shop and try to use her in abyss
As an Amber Main, it doesn’t matter for me that people say she’s bad, yes she is, but she isn’t useless or mustn’t be played, as long as you’re not rude against people who uses her you can just not use her and call her bad
Have a nice day
Awesome that you finally made this video about amber! :D
I actually anticipated to see you cover that topic.
Amber is an S Tier waifu. She deserves our love and appreciation.
👍
A triple golden SSS Tier goddess who deserves the utmost love and respect.
Now I actually do have C2 but I don’t use Amber anymore unfortunately :(
You can go back to her
@@heistingcrusader_ad3223 I could, but right now I'm very focused on building other characters (such as Hu Tao). In the future, if I have the chance I might build her properly!
Well I got Amber C2 and that's the only reason why I'm even considering to use her,but unfortunately she has much better alternatives that do things way better than her.
@@sallyhope2137 ooh I'll look into that, thank you!
"why nobody plays amber" MF I AM AN AMBER MAI-
Amber is someone I REALLY wish was better, she has so much potential.
She's on the way! :D
Ambers puppet has saved me in dragonspine so many times that ive actually found my own neat way to play her
im anticipating Amber ulti will be massively buffed with dendro character, it seems each of her ult's arrows can proc reaction for fast shield break, with dendro character that can crowd control and gather, she cn burn them all with ult, stacking up "burn"s on the enemies
To fix the Starter Trio, I think the best way is the opposite approach: make their C0 unimpressive and perhaps even downright weak combat-wise, instead focusing on puzzle and exploration while giving them more potent Constellations. (possibly making their C6 a tad bit overpowered even)
In Amber's case, I'd do the following:
C0 = Jump on Baron Bunny, get launched into Glide. Less damage and small blast.
(A watered down version Venti's Hold E in a nutshell)
C0 = Burst hit count halved for more spaced out shots. (same total duration)
C1 = Shoot Baron Bunny (anywhere) for wide blast. Normal Detonations now do more damage.
C2 = 2nd Skill Stock unlocked. Increased throw distance for both tap and hold.
C4 = Burst does 14 hits again, but the extra hits deal Physical damage. Party Buffs last 12 second.
(same as Burst Cooldown)
C6 = Second Arrow, but it deals full damage like in the Beta. Plunge Attacks while Gliding deal Fire DMG.
Some ideas I adapted from my old rework plan, which didn't take combat into account much, so perhaps this won't be to everyone's liking but I believe it would make Amber a passable combatant while staying true to her lore/character.
Her burst eats through shields very fast though, which makes her very useful in dragonspine
amber was so useful for me as my only pyro user while exploring dragonspine
Very nice video! Would love to see you talk about albedo, if the chance comes
I think Albedo was just underrated on release, he is to this day considered one of the best if not the best off-field dps
And I've learnt to appreciate her out of necessity.
just came from the keqing video to this! i love how detailed your content is!!!
@@angeldude101 she's not the only one, but she is the best/most obvious choice for the play style.
Loved reading your comment.
Was very interesting & I like your ideas!✨
Bruh I've been watching your league stuff for months and you do Genshin stuff too?! New favorite creator good video man
Rintaichou and Bwaap: And I took that personally
I'm using her with Rosaria and she's hitting good melt damage, I'm happy to give her some love even if I know she's such a weak unit by comparison
some people ( speedrunners ) like Amber's fast pyro application from her ult
it allows Xingqiu with sac sword to quad vape, all of chongyuns ult to melt, and some other synergies with very specific characters and scenarios
Amber will always have a use for me... until I get another about 40 seeds of flame and never need to break cryo regisvine sheild again... but she'll have a spot in my party for like another 16 boss fights ever.
Mihoyo: We should probably buff bow users…
Also Mihoyo: Put them in Honkai!!, it worked for Fischl.
Wouldn't mind a rewatch tho
Amber was actually on my exploration team. Yes because i was to lazy to switch out for her when lighting torches.
She is usable as Elegy driver for Hu Tao
5:50 Wait a minute -
Ficshl with Compound Bow is a literal Machine Gun
Maybe lisa next? I'm quite curious since I main Lisa.
Amber is one of my best characters, her easy to predict baron bunny distraction is vital for me. I have her ability to double shot and get intense weak point damage and I'm pretty good at it. I just can't replace her! XD
Reminder to put Instructors set on Amber for myself to boost team damage
"i propose Baron Bunny explode when Amber hits it with charged shot"
me: wait, that is her C2!
the worst thing about aamber is that i decided to use her as a demo for lyney by giving her lyneys artifacts and weapons and at level 60 with talent level 4 at c3 she dealt 42k damage
Amber is my fave ^-^ she's the first character I got to level 90 and crowned.
I know she'll never be good as an hypercarry 5 star character like Xiao or Hu Tao,
but I still find her pretty fun to play with, and she can easily beat lvl 90 domains and bosses / weekly bosses, even as the ONLY dps in my party, I also love her character bg and aesthetic.
I 100% agree with your video, its harder to use bow characters, its extremely harder to get her cons and her BIS artifact set (the wanderers) is also harder to farm unlike any other artifact set that can be obtained via specific domain
And in a game like genshin that gives you so much things to do to level up a character with so many limitated resources you def want to invest in stronger characters first...
I really hope Hoyo buffs her and other characters like Keqing, which is also my fave, and I just realised I use the worst 4 star and the worst 5 star in the game lol.
Amber Constellation 4 is actually manageable and made her quite of a good use but her c4 could have been her c1.
She's good for distracting enemies early game, and lighting up torches for puzzles... that's pretty much all
Kazuha doing more damage than amber in the support role slot
If they cant fix the starter character, just make their constellation available through quest or exchange(not the Paimon's bargain)
Can we appreciate the thumbnails.. LIKE
