Cyno are good in long fight like bosses but then only a handful of boss he can take care of. Other bosses are either flying, have multiple elemental shield or is a worm
Cyno is one of those characters that make you realize that Genshin is not about what's best, but what's good enough. He's harder to make work than other characters and will never reach their flexibility, but he's fun to try and work around.

They’re making these ridiculously broken characters, then making the end game scale with the newest dps output instead of making a balanced game. @gtgtgtgtgt123456789 genshin has always had a more balanced system. Even in the new end game for genshin it's less an issue on powerful units and more an issue on game knowledge.
Don’t forget about his terrible world exploration capabilities. Being burst reliant, and being reliant on landing a bunch of elemental skill hits to recharge his burst means that you basically can’t use his burst against small groups of light enemies because they’ll die instantly and Cyno won’t be able to recharge his burst’s energy for the next encounter.
That's the worst part about him imo. Endgame is a small part of the game compared to open world and a character feeling very bad to use on open world sucks a lot. Sigewinne may be not meta but her heals are nice for walking around on open world and she doesn't feel like wasted slot on the team

I have one specific reason why I don't play Cyno. I fucking hate hunting those scarabs. It is the absolute worst. He will likely never reach level 90 because of it.

Cyno was my first 5-star. I had started the game and to be honest I was struggling to keep up with it, I mostly only had the starter characters and none of them spoke to me. Then his first rerun banner came out and Bennett was on it, and everyone told me Bennett was good so I thought sure, I'll pile my meager amount of primogems into this banner. The purple Anubis-looking guy looks cool so let's roll on him in case I get lucky. I didn't get a single Bennett, but I *did* get 3 copies of Cyno in 20 pulls. There was a lot of screaming involved. This man pointed at my account and said "You. This is my home now." I've mained him ever since. Getting a 5-star unit made the game feel MASSIVELY better at that point in my account. Actually motivated me to play more to build him and use him. I still don't have his weapon, but I did get Baizhu on his first banner especially for him - I lost my 50/50 so I was playing overtime to collect all the primos I could. Then I got Kazuha next. I ran Cyno-Beidou-Kazuha-Baizhu for a while. Then I eventually got Nahida on her rerun, and Furina on her rerun just a few weeks ago. So I finally have that sweet sweet BiS Cyno team. 36-starred the latest abyss with him. Other side I used my other main, Neuvillette. I'm very happy with my boys.

Yeah I got him by accident on his first banner while fishing for Candace and didn't really like him, but now I gave him a decent build and happened to get his premium team too and he's not bad I just wish mine had more ER 🥹
Take it from me: as one of the few Cyno mains I would say he has gotten a lot better after 4.0 when he got a lot of better options with characters and weapons over time, so it really comes down to whether people find him appealing or not. Sure there might be other options out there if not better, but it’s nothing to be pressured about if you’re not having top-tier units like Neuvilette or Alhaitham. I never regretted summoning Cyno, because he looked like a cool character with an awesome design and a thrilling gameplay style that gave me the impression that he was an upgraded version of Razor. But I should warn you that he takes a lot of investment, especially requiring certain units to get to his full potential.
the only main problem i have with Cyno is he loses his Burst infusion once you switch out. i wish he didn’t lose his Burst infusion even after swapping out like Noelle & Arlecchino.
@@DeagyD my comp right now is the hyperbloom comp, containing Nahida, Xingqiu and Shinobu. But luckily I’ve got Baizhu and Furina to replace the current one. Though I’m still at the process of building them right now.
@@skyhart9926 Cyno is not the only one who is having this issue; Itto and Xiao has this too. It all depends on how much energy they regenerate and require. As long as Cyno is regenerating energy via procing his talent and doing elemental reactions (which gives him a lot of particles), then Cyno shouldn’t worry about energy issues. But the best case scenario for him would be against beefier enemies like elite enemies or bosses for that to happen. But against waves of enemies, then yeah, he can struggle with types of enemies.
as a c2 Cyno main, he absolutely feels like a character that would have been more popular and successful if he came out at the end of Sumeru after there were more characters to use with him (even if his kit remained exactly the same). Like him being out before Nahida was actually insane.
he needs nahida and furina because their skills last a lot of times and baizhu because he can apply dendro off-field. He is not bad damage-wise,he just needs expensive supports
He doesn't need Baizhu. Baizhu is just a luxury unit on hos team. There is no reason to not just use Kuki. She can hold Key, Freedom Sworn and Xiphos. All of these weapons are beneficial to his team.
@@kawaiimika7974 he want baizhu for multiple reasons: 1=He apply dendro off-field,so when there are multiple enemies nahida's E won't be enough 2=He heals a lot,this way he can maximise furina's fanfare 3=Cyno is a bit squishy,he doesn't necessarily need a shield but since baizhu heal AND shields(even though his shield is kind of a joke but for Cyno is enough) he is good Edit: Kuki is just not good with Cyno,she will steals the hyperbloom from Cyno and her skill doesn't last as much as Cyno, furina and baizhu's burst she will constantly use her skill during fights, causing DPS loss

Problem with Cyno is his kit design just does not mesh with multiwave scenarios and that's what Hoyo primarily likes to design for Floor 12 abysses. He'd have no problem if he could actually maintain his burst state if he's swapped.
i think cyno biggest is how specific his team has to be. He doesn't just need dendro. He needs nahida. He doesn't just need hydro. He needs furina. His issue is that his performance is subpar if your team is anything short of perfect. and at that point, just use someone else and when you need 3 S tier characters just to perform well, chances are your far from S tier

@Marz333 yeah but Xiao isn't a 3.0 character. xiao functioned perfectly fine on release that's the difference, and cyno takes advantage of Dendro reactions which is one of the strongest playstyles in the game and yet he still isn't OP. Xiao gets praised because he's able to keep up with the best Despite being an old character. Cyno Gets looked down on for being only Decent at his very best even though a playstyle like his, he should be as strong as alhaitham

Xiao was already a competent character before FFXX was a thing (his scalings are good, he has good AOE, he had a proper ST combo), it just so happened that using Anemo as a DPS element was kind of a joke. Electro already had it's own dedicated buffer (and Kazuha, Anemo didn't get a Dmg% buffer like that until Furina), Electro had much more offensive reactions than Anemo, and Electro had its own proper battery character. Except Cyno can't really use any of those options as well as Xiao used his limited resources in versions 1.X and 2.X... So of course people are going to view one as more favorable over the other.

He’s been pretty good honestly since Baizhu and Furina completed his team. Cyno just has bad reputation now. He can clear all the content easily and he’s basically an em scaling hyperbloom driver with some decent aggravate that gets better with investment. He’s not the best sure but he’s still a dendro focused character there’s no way he can be bad by his teams standards unless you just build him wrong. I see people glaze Xiao and all the supports he needs to be meta but when it comes to Cyno everyone’s silent, he doesn’t do big ss numbers because he’s fast attacking with long field time so his damage is distributed through multiple hits but he can still keep up with most dps except Neuvi and arlecchino but no one is better than them atm. My guy needs some appreciation haha
thing is that xiao isnt even that good , he is the most overrated and overhyped carry in the game , the reason for all that is that he was extremely bad for alot of time and xianyun somewhat made him playable and now his mains feel they getting their revenge , i never understood the hype , his set up timers are long , he outputs his damage slow , he is extremely expensive for what he offers back. Cyno isnt anything special either , he is just fine, a hyperbloom driver with an ok vertical investment.

His aoe is really nice and his need is actually felt when you get combat events where you fight waves of enemies. His team buffs don't need to be re applied every wave. Atleast he shines in those scenarios. Cyno? he doesn't have a place where you think I could use cyno/ I wish I had cyno for this moment. Not to mention alhaitham does cyno's job better than him
@@AngeUshiromiya725 I am said xiao main and there are some things I agree and disagree with here. overrated and overhyped I kinda see, he himself has I guess a cult following but I don't really see people hyping him up meta wise. His top team is one of the stronger teams in the game but this is where I agree that people confuse teams with the character in the front. Xiao isn't a good pull by himself, but his team as a whole is great. I think anyone with half a brain knows this though. In this team tho his setup time is not long at all and his damage output being slow legit makes no sense he hits 100k plunges easily in that team.
The comparison to xiao and cyno needing premium teams totally makes sense on paper however I think the difference comes in that xiao's best team is the only kind of plunge team unlike cyno's teams. Hutao xianyun comes off to me more as a hutao team and gaming/diluc teams you won't really find people playing that much. Cyno on the other hand plays like a hyperbloom team and an aggravate team since his best team is quickbloom. Here's the problem, unlike xiao, when you play cyno both of the kinds of teams you can play can be better with other characters. Alhaitham for hyperbloom, now clorinde for aggravate, and even keqing saw more success with aggravate than cyno did when dendro released. Cyno's playstyle and character design are dope, but I can't justify pulling for baizhu or SoSS just for him.
I'll say it from my perspective as Cyno haver. It's the lack of normal supports, even the best of best can't keep up with his long ult duration. I tested it myself, unless you're casting Nahida's skills last, her mark expires before Cyno's ult ends, and her marks have the longest duration out of every support that synergizes with him, so you want to cast her skills first.
its not abt her mark expiringits about you not being able to re apply it in multiwave, even dogass chars like cyno should be able to 1 rot everything if you have above kqm standard invest

I am a Cyno user, and i agree with you, but at the same time i believe that Cyno still has a shot regardless on which new genshin impact characters their are. What matters is how that you can manage to make it work, i may have nahida and the MC as my Dandro user the most, but i also use kokomi for a elemental chain reaction damage combo. Him as my main DPS user in replacements of Xiao (because i never got him) is my one good chance to actually pull a massive chain reaction combo for most of boss fights.
I play my Cyno (you can see that on my channel :D) but it's true. It took him over a year to become acceptable. But nowadays he's actually awesome! Just for Abyss though. I wouldn't recommend him for the overworld.
He only needs electro MC for the overworld to feed energy and provide resistance shred. Then slap an off-field dendro applicator and healer and you are set. Electro MC is actually his best teammate for a number of reasons, and even the electro shred can match Cyno's burst uptime (by lasting 12+8 seconds).
im cyno main since he was released. in my experience with him through version 3.x i noticed the non welcomed abyss. 3.x meta was focused about dendro reactions, but mainly they were putting electro enemies in abyss so the dendro characters like tighnari/nahida/alhaitham could shine.and even if blessings were saying there were buffs for both spread and aggravate it was always better for spread. ofc it was not as bad as abyss for dehya that despite having her own limited banner did not get even once good abysal blessing, but i think that not only lack of team was a problem there but also no place where cyno would feel good to use. i mean the only places where you are using characters are : abyss,overworld ,domains. in abyss cyno was hard to use as established earlier, in overworld he faces the problem of burst dps like itto and xiao you need to burst to defeat easiest enemies so without good battery its not practical. that lefts us with domains where there are just quicker options most of the time since his damage is good long term
this video made me realize that all this time while i've had cyno benched i've been slowly building the best cyno team cause i've pulled nahida, baizhu and furina for reasons other than cyno maybe i'll dust him off and see whats up
If you have raiden I've actually found that furina raiden cyno baizhu is my favorite team to play! It's more of a taser-bloom then quickbloom but I don't have to worry about maxing out cyno if energy is bad- just pop a quick raiden q/e and move on
I play and he is simply AMAZING, BUT you need really so much investment in him. He is easily the best boss killer in the game. But i play him at c1 and his signature weapon (i got lucky and got 2 of him in the same 10 pull and the weapon in 3 pulls) with nahida, furina AND a c3 jean. Both nahida and furina can match his ult uptime, his c1 hivea him attack speed and jean also gives him attack speed. So he becomes a shredding machine, applying tons of aggravates and hyperblooms.
his C2 should shift into his passive then make something new for C2 like DEF shreding or more dustalker bolt (become 6 for example but the dmg were not that high as first 3 dustalker), how y all think

I fully agree with this even as a cyno main. I c6d him and pulled nahida furina AND baizhu for him and have invested so much and he is POWERFUL. But thats the issue. I hyper invested in him and hes c6 Its sad to know my favorite character requires so much to be so good
The fact that I started this game for Cyno, saw his design in the Teyvat trailer and played day one. His animations are some of the coolest in the game and I like his skill gimmick, but man is his damage whelming. Missed Nahida on her first banner, which was the first time I missed an archon, and she was his best support! Also have been a Keqing hater day one, but what do you know she became so much better and more fun to play at the exact same time Cyno released with literally no supports that functioned well with him! My boi was done dastardly...but at least he's OP in TCG. Extended transformation characters are so mediocre when they don't have a explicitly hand crafted support with an OP c6 to pair with them. How do the devs make Noelle in version 1.0 and never proceed to make burst dps swappable since.
Diluc's normal attack infusion (after burst) is swappable too... my theory is that in the early game they knew players would have a hard time meeting energy requirements (and consider that Noelle and Qiqi already had energy issues) and so certain aspects of how bursts worked back then were a little more flexible. But post-Ei they figured the energy problem was "solved" for current players and so they could tune towards higher burst costs and forcing you to run Favonius on someone since you should have a few. Yae Miko with a 90 (!) cost burst was the first warning sign. Itto having a short burst cooldown, high field time requirement but no swapping ... T_T
Since Cyno has been my favorite character since I met him in Sumeru, the only reason I don’t play as him is because he hasn’t had a rerun since I started playing the game 😭 I don’t care what his play style is I will Make Him Work

Cyno is as strong as the best characters. He is just hard to play. And most people don't want to play difficult characters. He is still my strongest character.
nahh someone who is hard to play but actually strong is lyney and ganyu. On paper they deal great damage but since their kit revolves around charge attacks, their damage fell a lot since they need to use zhongli or they gon get staggered a lot.
i pulled for cyno and always use it for clearing content, and i should say hes not hard to play (the skill combo is hella easy), but cyno is just really annoying to play, because he can get bounced around so much and you need to time your rotation really well to get the best out of it
Tbh I've never cared about meta. I use Cyno because he's my favourite character and I genuinely like his playstyle. Also, if you're getting bored of Cyno's meta team, use the Cyno chaos team (or a version of it). It's fun to play, doesn't only use 5-stars, and can actually do good damage.
NO YOU DIDNT. MY BOI, YOU CANT BE DOING THIS TOO HIM. HE HAS PLENTY OF PLAYERS AND TONS OF USE. Jokes aside though, I love how his main issue was that he didn't have good teammates. It's wonderful that he finally got the teammates he needed, with two being Archons as well.
For me : Cyno excels in single target Scenarios but for multi wave content mostly the focus of every single Abyss reset he might fail in comparison or to sugar-coat it he will be able to function but requires higher investment levels (Baizhu ,Furina,Nahida) and his F2P weapons are far behind in ranking compared to his signature So in summary :he 's theoretically good or excellent but practically it 's traumatizing to nail his play style BTW: his combo hits are just awesome maybe the most amusing in the entire rooster so far

I am a Cyno main, and yes, I pull Baizhu just so I can play Cyno comfortably. He is very strict in every way: his team (hyperbloom/quickbloom/aggravate), his rotation, and stat on artifact and weapon. But he's strong. He also need Nahida at least. But I love him regardless. Everything you point out in this video is true, and it does make people think twice to pull for him. My advice is, if you want meta and flexibility, he's not the guy. Also, SCARABS 👻 I use him alongside Nahida, Fischl and Barabara on the open world, so all skill, and I only need to pay attention to his burst alone. It's fun ❤ Good video, I appreciate it
i HATED cyno at first, and then accidentally got him while trying for candace cons in 3.1. i still hate his playstyle, but i love his character now. and alejandro/cyyu, man he's so talented.
I grabbed all of these characters on their very first banners, getting Baizhu with the express purpose of being a support for Cyno, and I haven't regretted it for a moment. I've used him to clear one side of every abyss cycle ever since... but the fact that I'm considering getting all 4 members of this specific 5* team up to c2 just to make him easier to play really says something about how difficult he is to build around, haha.
I am no one and I play him. Literally if you get Furina and Nahida I don't see the reason why you wouldn't play him. He becomes so easy to play. Baizhu is completely unnecessary btw, Amber Nahida and Kuki give him enough healing.
I actually made a genshin oc/kit concept of a dedicated Cyno support, they'd apply less dendro than Nahida but they'd have a 20 second burst and skill for Cynos long field time, along with providing a small amount of interruption resistance to the on field character and having aoe dendro application instead of Nahida's marks :D
I think that's essentially Emilie but unfortunately she's best for burning and doesn't have interruption increase. Personally I think he'd really excel with a support that provides stronger buffs that stack the longer the current character is onfield, so it wouldn't be accidentally buffing quickswap Keqing for the hundredth time but more for selfish DPS.
@@brondermody3409 weirdly enough, I made my kit concept a few weeks before Emilie was leaked, I made it so my oc wouldn't do much damage but would apply dendro to all nearby opponents and debuff the enemies
Cyno has too many problems. If there were one or two problems, it wouldn't be much of an issue but bro has energy issues, bad interruption resistance, certain reaction requirements to see big damage, unsatisfying feeling of missing his NA combo and timing his skill all together. And what makes things worse is my potato device and high ping. The only two things left to like about him is his fan arts and his voice LOL. FU whoever made his kit!
Cyno was my first five star character. I started playing right towards the end of 3.0. Nowadays though he has gotten his first use of mine forever as my Emilie artifact and weapon hanger lol.
Cyno's best team the team that was mentioned in the video is a boss killing machine...I have this team and believe me he can dish out some serious dmg...but yeah I can't recommend this character to new players or F2Ps..... He has only one team and that's it...Cyno, Furina, Nahida and Baizhu and all are 5 stars....Playing him in any other team feels so bad and annoying and just straight up torturous...!!!! And even in his best team he is not so good against multiple waves against bosses yeah he will shred like a knife on soft butter..!!! So if u have already pulled Cyno during his release because u thought he looked cool so u must have him and didn't know much about the games combat and ur just realizing that it was a mistake...well u have two options either bench him forever or go hard and invest in him...!!!!
I think the big problem was that we didn't need more electro application and especially not on field characters but thats exactly what he was, mix that in with overall mid play style due to lack of flexibility and he just never caught off
TL;DR - 80 Energy to be playable is absurd - Can't swap out once ult - Can't use with Nahida in multiple mobs scenario - Kinda require resistance interruption in some shape or form - Keqing and Clorinde exist
If I were to give Cyno one buff, I would give him the ability to keep his infusion while off field(like Noelle). I think that's all he needs, and would make him a really flexible sustained DPS and let him outstand over other electro damage dealers.
as an og cyno haver shit was rough back then but if u hyperinvest he becomes as strong as other units. obvs not an efficient unit to build but if u like him u can def make him work now that supports that work with him have been released
As someone who pull for cyno, his weapon, and every single good support for him i have to say that even with that he is not even confrontable to play 😔. Is sad, with quickbloom my alhaitham without his weapon do more dmg, in quicken my keqing and alhaitham team do more dmg, and in hyperbloom my kuki do the same dmg but with is easier to play. There are characters with high risk high rewards, but at this point he feels like a high cost, low reward character.
I've genuinely never encountered a problem with his up time (in abyss). More often than not, I get his burst charged back up before using up its duration. It allows me to switch to other characters in order to reapply skills and buffs.
his ult being uncancellable would have instantly made him to tier dps, He technically has more dps than clorinde while having 100% uptime if you have enough energy recharge
Pretty close yes with good artefacts, I’m almost there, sometime I have 3sec downtime that I need to feel before his burst get back when I switch him in mid burst . You need to land all the hits , to have more energy
As a Cyno main, his burst just lasts too long. Lately I’ve been using clorinde more cause she is much more forgiving with her dmg being tied to her skill rather than burst and takes less time. Also a tip for people who want to play Cyno. If he has enough energy to cast it again, he doesn’t beee to cast his last endseer state. If he has enough energy to cast his burst again, he can switch out after his third, it will end his burst but it will allow you to get out your other teammates abilities before switching back to him. It will be more dps in the long run.
I can’t even argue with this one. I’ve asked dozens of people who pulled for Cyno and his signature. NONE played him for more than two patches and then just never used him since. Myself included… His signature now belongs to Xiangling
To put it short: No team for the first year Ult is too long and no interupt resist also cost 80 energy No good f2p weapon, best one being a 3 stars 1 year later Cyno finally have a full team that can bring out the best in him and they're all 5 stars Clorinde kicked his ass when she came out For me tho the biggest reason why i stopped playing him was the JP voices, the week he came out all of his Ult voices was cold and he sounded so cool but then they changed 2 of it and made them faster so it sounded like he's screaming at them now instead of being a boss and coldly attacking them His old voice greatly showed his personality. On the battlefield he's cold and always keep his calm since he know he can win
I can understand people seeing Cyno in an unfavorable light. His circumstances were very unfortunate. As he is now, he's a very strong and competitive options, especially in the electro category. It's just at the expense of using some of the most powerful supports this game has ever seen, because they're the only ones that can tick off his boxes at the moment.
What really changed my view of Cyno was switching his pole arm for the kitain one. It makes him burst whenever I want and he is soooo much more satisfying to play now.
Cyno is one of those characters that I am maining till Friendship 10 (Husbando gamer here and his EN VA is my fav Vtuber, he's at 9 rn) and his team name for me is really "F**knExpensive" since his team is mainly Nahida, Baizhu and Raiden for maximum comfort (have tried Fischl but Oz doesn't stay long enough for my preference). I tried quickbloom with Furina but I'm having a harder time with energy rotations and all so double dendro/electro instead. He is a fun character to play, have brought him in for a couple of Floor 11's but after maining him for a while all I can say is he is not for overworld exploration, he mainly shines in domains where the HP pool is much higher but not as high as abyss. It kind of sucks Cyno isn’t that good because he has one of best designs in the entire game, and he’s also voiced by Kaggyfilms, who was one of the best RUclipsrs in my opinion until he announced he wasn’t making anymore videos.
Love hearing the part about Baizhu being strong but no one has him but I started playing during his banner so he was my first limited five star and he’s almost always on my team for just about everything
one thing i noticed is that after cyno, we dont really see burst focused dps units anymore. scara's dmg is mostly tied to his skill. alhaitham's burst can get you mirrors, but it's not all of his dmg. dehya is dehya (and has off-field skill "damage"). lyney mostly uses his charged shot. neuvi is tied to his charge atk. wrio is tied to his skill. navia is tied to her skill. arle is tied to her bond of life and her skill. clorinde is tied to her skill. while a lot of these units want to use their burst, the days of making burst-centric dps units seems to be over. all of the burst centered dps units (ayaka, raiden, xiao, eula) came out before cyno. idk if they stopped making burst-centric dps units cuz of cyno's lukewarm reaction, or if he's just the last of the burst centered inazuma style units with a focus on er, but it's something super noticeable
I just realized that. Like we haven't got another one since Cyno. I think burst reliant carries can work but that is if they can keep their burst up even when switching(Noelle and Dilc actually has this.) Or if the unit get's a support that can provide pretty well for MT situations and provide good particle generation. Electro only has fischl as a good battery but she wants to be swapped after like 10-12 secs to refresh oz and Kuki's particle generation just feels inconsistent and using raiden means your team's damage falls off a by alot.
Cyno is my favorite character. Idc how bad he is, I will always play him. I love his backstory sm and his design. His jokes are also quite funny, they are simple and good.

Don’t forget about his terrible world exploration capabilities. Being burst reliant, and being reliant on landing a bunch of elemental skill hits to recharge his burst means that you basically can’t use his burst against small groups of light enemies because they’ll die instantly and Cyno won’t be able to recharge his burst’s energy for the next encounter.

That's the worst part about him imo. Endgame is a small part of the game compared to open world and a character feeling very bad to use on open world sucks a lot. Sigewinne may be not meta but her heals are nice for walking around on open world and she doesn't feel like wasted slot on the team

Cyno was my first 5-star. I had started the game and to be honest I was struggling to keep up with it, I mostly only had the starter characters and none of them spoke to me. Then his first rerun banner came out and Bennett was on it, and everyone told me Bennett was good so I thought sure, I'll pile my meager amount of primogems into this banner. The purple Anubis-looking guy looks cool so let's roll on him in case I get lucky.
I didn't get a single Bennett, but I *did* get 3 copies of Cyno in 20 pulls. There was a lot of screaming involved. This man pointed at my account and said "You. This is my home now." I've mained him ever since. Getting a 5-star unit made the game feel MASSIVELY better at that point in my account. Actually motivated me to play more to build him and use him. I still don't have his weapon, but I did get Baizhu on his first banner especially for him - I lost my 50/50 so I was playing overtime to collect all the primos I could. Then I got Kazuha next. I ran Cyno-Beidou-Kazuha-Baizhu for a while. Then I eventually got Nahida on her rerun, and Furina on her rerun just a few weeks ago. So I finally have that sweet sweet BiS Cyno team.

Cyno was my most wanted character since I saw him in the Teyvat trailer 4 years ago. I absolutely love him and he is my best build character so far
Take it from me: as one of the few Cyno mains I would say he has gotten a lot better after 4.0 when he got a lot of better options with characters and weapons over time, so it really comes down to whether people find him appealing or not. Sure there might be other options out there if not better, but it’s nothing to be pressured about if you’re not having top-tier units like Neuvilette or Alhaitham. I never regretted summoning Cyno, because he looked like a cool character with an awesome design and a thrilling gameplay style that gave me the impression that he was an upgraded version of Razor. But I should warn you that he takes a lot of investment, especially requiring certain units to get to his full potential.
the only main problem i have with Cyno is he loses his Burst infusion once you switch out. i wish he didn’t lose his Burst infusion even after swapping out like Noelle & Arlecchino.

@@skyhart9926 Cyno is not the only one who is having this issue; Itto and Xiao has this too. It all depends on how much energy they regenerate and require. As long as Cyno is regenerating energy via procing his talent and doing elemental reactions (which gives him a lot of particles), then Cyno shouldn’t worry about energy issues. But the best case scenario for him would be against beefier enemies like elite enemies or bosses for that to happen. But against waves of enemies, then yeah, he can struggle with types of enemies.

as a c2 Cyno main, he absolutely feels like a character that would have been more popular and successful if he came out at the end of Sumeru after there were more characters to use with him (even if his kit remained exactly the same).

He doesn't need Baizhu. Baizhu is just a luxury unit on hos team. There is no reason to not just use Kuki. She can hold Key, Freedom Sworn and Xiphos. All of these weapons are beneficial to his team.
Also, Kuki can just remove the enemies with low HP in multi wave situations.

Edit: Kuki is just not good with Cyno,she will steals the hyperbloom from Cyno and her skill doesn't last as much as Cyno, furina and baizhu's burst she will constantly use her skill during fights, causing DPS loss

Problem with Cyno is his kit design just does not mesh with multiwave scenarios and that's what Hoyo primarily likes to design for Floor 12 abysses.
He'd have no problem if he could actually maintain his burst state if he's swapped.
i think cyno biggest is how specific his team has to be. He doesn't just need dendro. He needs nahida. He doesn't just need hydro. He needs furina. His issue is that his performance is subpar if your team is anything short of perfect. and at that point, just use someone else

Xiao gets praised because he's able to keep up with the best Despite being an old character. Cyno Gets looked down on for being only Decent at his very best even though a playstyle like his, he should be as strong as alhaitham

Electro already had it's own dedicated buffer (and Kazuha, Anemo didn't get a Dmg% buffer like that until Furina), Electro had much more offensive reactions than Anemo, and Electro had its own proper battery character. Except Cyno can't really use any of those options as well as Xiao used his limited resources in versions 1.X and 2.X... So of course people are going to view one as more favorable over the other.

He’s been pretty good honestly since Baizhu and Furina completed his team. Cyno just has bad reputation now. He can clear all the content easily and he’s basically an em scaling hyperbloom driver with some decent aggravate that gets better with investment. He’s not the best sure but he’s still a dendro focused character there’s no way he can be bad by his teams standards unless you just build him wrong. I see people glaze Xiao and all the supports he needs to be meta but when it comes to Cyno everyone’s silent, he doesn’t do big ss numbers because he’s fast attacking with long field time so his damage is distributed through multiple hits but he can still keep up with most dps except Neuvi and arlecchino but no one is better than them atm. My guy needs some appreciation haha
thing is that xiao isnt even that good , he is the most overrated and overhyped carry in the game , the reason for all that is that he was extremely bad for alot of time and xianyun somewhat made him playable and now his mains feel they getting their revenge , i never understood the hype , his set up timers are long , he outputs his damage slow , he is extremely expensive for what he offers back. His aoe is really nice and his need is actually felt when you get combat events where you fight waves of enemies. His team buffs don't need to be re applied every wave. Atleast he shines in those scenarios. Cyno? he doesn't have a place where you think I could use cyno/ I wish I had cyno for this moment. Not to mention alhaitham does cyno's job better than him
@@AngeUshiromiya725 I am said xiao main and there are some things I agree and disagree with here. overrated and overhyped I kinda see, he himself has I guess a cult following but I don't really see people hyping him up meta wise. His top team is one of the stronger teams in the game but this is where I agree that people confuse teams with the character in the front. Xiao isn't a good pull by himself, but his team as a whole is great. I think anyone with half a brain knows this though. In this team tho his setup time is not long at all and his damage output being slow legit makes no sense he hits 100k plunges easily in that team.
The comparison to xiao and cyno needing premium teams totally makes sense on paper however I think the difference comes in that xiao's best team is the only kind of plunge team unlike cyno's teams. Hutao xianyun comes off to me more as a hutao team and gaming/diluc teams you won't really find people playing that much. Cyno on the other hand plays like a hyperbloom team and an aggravate team since his best team is quickbloom. Here's the problem, unlike xiao, when you play cyno both of the kinds of teams you can play can be better with other characters. Alhaitham for hyperbloom, now clorinde for aggravate, and even keqing saw more success with aggravate than cyno did when dendro released. Cyno's playstyle and character design are dope, but I can't justify pulling for baizhu or SoSS just for him.
I'll say it from my perspective as Cyno haver. It's the lack of normal supports, even the best of best can't keep up with his long ult duration. I tested it myself, unless you're casting Nahida's skills last, her mark expires before Cyno's ult ends, and her marks have the longest duration out of every support that synergizes with him, so you want to cast her skills first.
Squirt Xingqiu/Furina, then Baizhu Ult then let the Cyno enjoy his prime time 🤌🏻

I am a Cyno user, and i agree with you, but at the same time i believe that Cyno still has a shot regardless on which new genshin impact characters their are. What matters is how that you can manage to make it work, i may have nahida and the MC as my Dandro user the most, but i also use kokomi for a elemental chain reaction damage combo. Him as my main DPS user in replacements of Xiao (because i never got him) is my one good chance to actually pull a massive chain reaction combo for most of boss fights.

I play my Cyno (you can see that on my channel :D) but it's true. It took him over a year to become acceptable. But nowadays he's actually awesome! Just for Abyss though. I wouldn't recommend him for the overworld.
He only needs electro MC for the overworld to feed energy and provide resistance shred. Then slap an off-field dendro applicator and healer and you are set.
Electro MC is actually his best teammate for a number of reasons, and even the electro shred can match Cyno's burst uptime (by lasting 12+8 seconds).

im cyno main since he was released. in my experience with him through version 3.x i noticed the non welcomed abyss. 3.x meta was focused about dendro reactions, but mainly they were putting electro enemies in abyss so the dendro characters like tighnari/nahida/alhaitham could shine.and even if blessings were saying there were buffs for both spread and aggravate it was always better for spread. ofc it was not as bad as abyss for dehya that despite having her own limited banner did not get even once good abysal blessing, but i think that not only lack of team was a problem there but also no place where cyno would feel good to use. i mean the only places where you are using characters are : abyss,overworld ,domains. in abyss cyno was hard to use as established earlier, in overworld he faces the problem of burst dps like itto and xiao you need to burst to defeat easiest enemies so without good battery its not practical. that lefts us with domains where there are just quicker options most of the time since his damage is good long term
His gameplay is very fun but the lack of any interruption resistance really hurts him

If you have raiden I've actually found that furina raiden cyno baizhu is my favorite team to play! It's more of a taser-bloom then quickbloom but I don't have to worry about maxing out cyno if energy is bad- just pop a quick raiden q/e and move on
I play and he is simply AMAZING, BUT you need really so much investment in him. He is easily the best boss killer in the game. But i play him at c1 and his signature weapon (i got lucky and got 2 of him in the same 10 pull and the weapon in 3 pulls) with nahida, furina AND a c3 jean. Both nahida and furina can match his ult uptime, his c1 hivea him attack speed and jean also gives him attack speed. So he becomes a shredding machine, applying tons of aggravates and hyperblooms.
Well honestly the only think about I don't like about him is his energy recharge requirements and that damned scarabs .
his C2 should shift into his passive then make something new for C2 like DEF shreding or more dustalker bolt (become 6 for example but the dmg were not that high as first 3 dustalker), how y all think

The fact that I started this game for Cyno, saw his design in the Teyvat trailer and played day one. His animations are some of the coolest in the game and I like his skill gimmick, but man is his damage whelming. Missed Nahida on her first banner, which was the first time I missed an archon, and she was his best support! Also have been a Keqing hater day one, but what do you know she became so much better and more fun to play at the exact same time Cyno released with literally no supports that functioned well with him! My boi was done dastardly...but at least he's OP in TCG. Extended transformation characters are so mediocre when they don't have a explicitly hand crafted support with an OP c6 to pair with them. How do the devs make Noelle in version 1.0 and never proceed to make burst dps swappable since.
Diluc's normal attack infusion (after burst) is swappable too... my theory is that in the early game they knew players would have a hard time meeting energy requirements (and consider that Noelle and Qiqi already had energy issues) and so certain aspects of how bursts worked back then were a little more flexible. But post-Ei they figured the energy problem was "solved" for current players and so they could tune towards higher burst costs and forcing you to run Favonius on someone since you should have a few. Yae Miko with a 90 (!) cost burst was the first warning sign. Itto having a short burst cooldown, high field time requirement but no swapping ... T_T

Cyno is as strong as the best characters. He is just hard to play. And most people don't want to play difficult characters. He is still my strongest character.

nahh someone who is hard to play but actually strong is lyney and ganyu. On paper they deal great damage but since their kit revolves around charge attacks, their damage fell a lot since they need to use zhongli or they gon get staggered a lot.

i pulled for cyno and always use it for clearing content, and i should say hes not hard to play (the skill combo is hella easy), but cyno is just really annoying to play, because he can get bounced around so much and you need to time your rotation really well to get the best out of it

Tbh I've never cared about meta. I use Cyno because he's my favourite character and I genuinely like his playstyle.
Also, if you're getting bored of Cyno's meta team, use the Cyno chaos team (or a version of it). It's fun to play, doesn't only use 5-stars, and can actually do good damage.
NO YOU DIDNT. MY BOI, YOU CANT BE DOING THIS TOO HIM. HE HAS PLENTY OF PLAYERS AND TONS OF USE. Jokes aside though, I love how his main issue was that he didn't have good teammates. It's wonderful that he finally got the teammates he needed, with two being Archons as well.

For me : Cyno excels in single target Scenarios but for multi wave content mostly the focus of every single Abyss reset he might fail in comparison or to sugar-coat it he will be able to function but requires higher investment levels (Baizhu ,Furina,Nahida) and his F2P weapons are far behind in ranking compared to his signature
So in summary :he 's theoretically good or excellent but practically it 's traumatizing to nail his play style
BTW: his combo hits are just awesome maybe the most amusing in the entire rooster so far
0:33 wait what??? im preety sure most people play shogun as a main dps lol and not a kuki replacement for a hyperbloom team, the only reason why anyone would want to use shogun instead of kuki is if you straight up don't have her
if you check the % of artifact usage on shogun, you can clearly see majority use her as a main dps
or if you dont have her sig and dont wanna fish for the catch, hyperbloom is just so much easier

Em Raiden is a massive cope and I'm standing on that.
I am a Cyno main, and yes, I pull Baizhu just so I can play Cyno comfortably. He is very strict in every way: his team (hyperbloom/quickbloom/aggravate), his rotation, and stat on artifact and weapon. But he's strong. He also need Nahida at least. But I love him regardless.
Everything you point out in this video is true, and it does make people think twice to pull for him. My advice is, if you want meta and flexibility, he's not the guy. Also, SCARABS 👻
I use him alongside Nahida, Fischl and Barabara on the open world, so all skill, and I only need to pay attention to his burst alone. It's fun ❤

i HATED cyno at first, and then accidentally got him while trying for candace cons in 3.1. i still hate his playstyle, but i love his character now. and alejandro/cyyu, man he's so talented.

I grabbed all of these characters on their very first banners, getting Baizhu with the express purpose of being a support for Cyno, and I haven't regretted it for a moment. I've used him to clear one side of every abyss cycle ever since... but the fact that I'm considering getting all 4 members of this specific 5* team up to c2 just to make him easier to play really says something about how difficult he is to build around, haha.
I am no one and I play him. Literally if you get Furina and Nahida I don't see the reason why you wouldn't play him. He becomes so easy to play. Baizhu is completely unnecessary btw, Amber Nahida and Kuki give him enough healing.
I actually made a genshin oc/kit concept of a dedicated Cyno support, they'd apply less dendro than Nahida but they'd have a 20 second burst and skill for Cynos long field time, along with providing a small amount of interruption resistance to the on field character and having aoe dendro application instead of Nahida's marks :D
I think that's essentially Emilie but unfortunately she's best for burning and doesn't have interruption increase. Personally I think he'd really excel with a support that provides stronger buffs that stack the longer the current character is onfield, so it wouldn't be accidentally buffing quickswap Keqing for the hundredth time but more for selfish DPS.
@@brondermody3409 weirdly enough, I made my kit concept a few weeks before Emilie was leaked, I made it so my oc wouldn't do much damage but would apply dendro to all nearby opponents and debuff the enemies

I play and love Cyno. He was carrying me on Bosses in Baizhu/Xingqiu/Fischl, now I got Furina and he became a true god that he is 💜
Cyno has too many problems. If there were one or two problems, it wouldn't be much of an issue but bro has energy issues, bad interruption resistance, certain reaction requirements to see big damage, unsatisfying feeling of missing his NA combo and timing his skill all together. And what makes things worse is my potato device and high ping. The only two things left to like about him is his fan arts and his voice LOL. FU whoever made his kit!
Cyno was my first five star character. I started playing right towards the end of 3.0. Nowadays though he has gotten his first use of mine forever as my Emilie artifact and weapon hanger lol.
Cyno's best team the team that was mentioned in the video is a boss killing machine...I have this team and believe me he can dish out some serious dmg...but yeah I can't recommend this character to new players or F2Ps..... He has only one team and that's it...Cyno, Furina, Nahida and Baizhu and all are 5 stars....Playing him in any other team feels so bad and annoying and just straight up torturous...!!!!
And even in his best team he is not so good against multiple waves against bosses yeah he will shred like a knife on soft butter..!!! So if u have already pulled Cyno during his release because u thought he looked cool so u must have him and didn't know much about the games combat and ur just realizing that it was a mistake...well u have two options either bench him forever or go hard and invest in him...!!!!
I think the big problem was that we didn't need more electro application and especially not on field characters but thats exactly what he was, mix that in with overall mid play style due to lack of flexibility and he just never caught off
He's my most built character :) he's great but def has limitations you have to workaround
TL;DR
- 80 Energy to be playable is absurd
- Can't swap out once ult
- Can't use with Nahida in multiple mobs scenario
- Kinda require resistance interruption in some shape or form
- Keqing and Clorinde exist
If I were to give Cyno one buff, I would give him the ability to keep his infusion while off field(like Noelle).
I think that's all he needs, and would make him a really flexible sustained DPS and let him outstand over other electro damage dealers.
as an og cyno haver shit was rough back then but if u hyperinvest he becomes as strong as other units. obvs not an efficient unit to build but if u like him u can def make him work now that supports that work with him have been released

As someone who pull for cyno, his weapon, and every single good support for him i have to say that even with that he is not even confrontable to play 😔.
Is sad, with quickbloom my alhaitham without his weapon do more dmg, in quicken my keqing and alhaitham team do more dmg, and in hyperbloom my kuki do the same dmg but with is easier to play.
There are characters with high risk high rewards, but at this point he feels like a high cost, low reward character.

I've genuinely never encountered a problem with his up time (in abyss). More often than not, I get his burst charged back up before using up its duration. It allows me to switch to other characters in order to reapply skills and buffs.
his ult being uncancellable would have instantly made him to tier dps, He technically has more dps than clorinde while having 100% uptime if you have enough energy recharge
or just make his ult last 8(+4 from passive) seconds and cost 60 energy
Pretty close yes with good artefacts, I’m almost there, sometime I have 3sec downtime that I need to feel before his burst get back when I switch him in mid burst . You need to land all the hits , to have more energy

As a Cyno main, his burst just lasts too long. Lately I’ve been using clorinde more cause she is much more forgiving with her dmg being tied to her skill rather than burst and takes less time.
Also a tip for people who want to play Cyno. If he has enough energy to cast it again, he doesn’t beee to cast his last endseer state. If he has enough energy to cast his burst again, he can switch out after his third, it will end his burst but it will allow you to get out your other teammates abilities before switching back to him. It will be more dps in the long run.

I can’t even argue with this one. I’ve asked dozens of people who pulled for Cyno and his signature. NONE played him for more than two patches and then just never used him since. Myself included… His signature now belongs to Xiangling
To put it short:
No team for the first year
Ult is too long and no interupt resist also cost 80 energy
No good f2p weapon, best one being a 3 stars
1 year later Cyno finally have a full team that can bring out the best in him and they're all 5 stars

For me tho the biggest reason why i stopped playing him was the JP voices, the week he came out all of his Ult voices was cold and he sounded so cool but then they changed 2 of it and made them faster so it sounded like he's screaming at them now instead of being a boss and coldly attacking them
His old voice greatly showed his personality. On the battlefield he's cold and always keep his calm since he know he can win
I usually dread seeing a character i have in my roster on a "why no one plays" video but in this case ive barely touched Cyno so I feel validated
The problem with that strong team is that you can't slot fischl. Making his energy requirements pretty ridiculous compared to similar carry dps.

I can understand people seeing Cyno in an unfavorable light. His circumstances were very unfortunate. As he is now, he's a very strong and competitive options, especially in the electro category. It's just at the expense of using some of the most powerful supports this game has ever seen, because they're the only ones that can tick off his boxes at the moment.

What really changed my view of Cyno was switching his pole arm for the kitain one. It makes him burst whenever I want and he is soooo much more satisfying to play now.

As someone who has almost every single character. I use Cyno the most and i have a C2 Raiden lol
Cyno is one of those characters that I am maining till Friendship 10 (Husbando gamer here and his EN VA is my fav Vtuber, he's at 9 rn) and his team name for me is really "F**knExpensive" since his team is mainly Nahida, Baizhu and Raiden for maximum comfort (have tried Fischl but Oz doesn't stay long enough for my preference). I tried quickbloom with Furina but I'm having a harder time with energy rotations and all so double dendro/electro instead. He is a fun character to play, have brought him in for a couple of Floor 11's but after maining him for a while all I can say is he is not for overworld exploration, he mainly shines in domains where the HP pool is much higher but not as high as abyss. Anyway great vid!

The reasons are
1.C0 raiden can outperform him in dmg not to mention her utilities and flexibility in terms of roles is still a s tier
2.Clorinde isnt a burst dependent dps
3.Expensive team

It kind of sucks Cyno isn’t that good because he has one of best designs in the entire game, and he’s also voiced by Kaggyfilms, who was one of the best RUclipsrs in my opinion until he announced he wasn’t making anymore videos.
Love hearing the part about Baizhu being strong but no one has him but I started playing during his banner so he was my first limited five star and he’s almost always on my team for just about everything
one thing i noticed is that after cyno, we dont really see burst focused dps units anymore. scara's dmg is mostly tied to his skill. alhaitham's burst can get you mirrors, but it's not all of his dmg. dehya is dehya (and has off-field skill "damage"). lyney mostly uses his charged shot. neuvi is tied to his charge atk. wrio is tied to his skill. navia is tied to her skill. arle is tied to her bond of life and her skill. clorinde is tied to her skill. while a lot of these units want to use their burst, the days of making burst-centric dps units seems to be over. all of the burst centered dps units (ayaka, raiden, xiao, eula) came out before cyno. idk if they stopped making burst-centric dps units cuz of cyno's lukewarm reaction, or if he's just the last of the burst centered inazuma style units with a focus on er, but it's something super noticeable
I just realized that. Like we haven't got another one since Cyno. I think burst reliant carries can work but that is if they can keep their burst up even when switching(Noelle and Dilc actually has this.) Or if the unit get's a support that can provide pretty well for MT situations and provide good particle generation. Electro only has fischl as a good battery but she wants to be swapped after like 10-12 secs to refresh oz and Kuki's particle generation just feels inconsistent and using raiden means your team's damage falls off a by alot.
Cyno is my favorite character. Idc how bad he is, I will always play him. I love his backstory sm and his design. His jokes are also quite funny, they are simple and good.
