Like the other standard banner 5 star units, Jean showed a lot of initial promise, carrying many of us through our early days of Genshin. Over two years later and her potential still remains, yet her diminishing representation caused many to discard her in favor of other, more traditionally powerful Anemo characters. 2 - I said in the video Jean's burst does periodic anemo damage when I misunderstood that it only does damage to enemies who ENTER and EXIT the field as well as after it expires.

That weird competing infusion thing happens when jean is infused with any other element from another characters ability. Its just the most devastating with bennet. But barbras E skill, Candance burst, Chongyun E, Doris burst, etc can all do it to different degrees.
I made the same mistake at first. It just makes a mediocre burst even worst tbh. Feels bad man.
you also made another kinda-error: according to zajef - who i trust bc as a tc he knows his numbers - xiao is actually better in most cases than wanderer. so either call both of them not-that-great or both not-half-bad

Yeah Xianyun does what Jean does but a little bit better. On top of that she enables plunge on all characters and gives additional anemo damage on plunge too. And on top of that, Xianyun gives overworld mobility utility. So unless you plan on running a carry in abyss that can't utilize plunge well (like Neuvillette) and have something like a C2 Jean, C0 Xianyun is just better.

@@kyubey8081 Jean gives 40% reduced Anemo Res at C4, and Jeans heal is a LOT better then Bird lady. Jeans skill is also on a faster CD
The only difference is pulling for Jean is next to impossible while bird lady has featured banners
Correction: Jean's burst doesn't do periodic anemo damage, it only damages on cast and when enemies enter/exit the circle.
Which I guess is why Jean doesn't have the same kind of cc other anemo units have since you can use skill and CA to shove enemies in and out of the circle. Is that what the devs were thinking when they designed her kit?

Furina made this age like milk, now Jean's the most wanted for Furina teams, lol. Jean's team-wide healing, Viridescent Venerer def shred is great synergy with Furina's elemental skill, burst and overheal talent.

Jean will always have a special place in my heart for carrying me through most of the content in my early days of playing. Super reassuring to have her on the team to this day.
Man I just want her. Day 1 player and the only standard I don't have but was the one I wanted so bad when I started. Now the odds of getting her are worse with a 40% increase in the pool.
I was lucky though and got Keqing on my first 10 pull and really liked her. She stayed my main after all this time.
Jean carried me up to AR53 until I got Hutao on her first rerun and I still use her occasionally
That was Qiqi for me. I got her on my first 10 free pulls when I started playing. Qiqi was actually a godly character to level with. It took a long, sad time at late game for me to realize she was no longer any good and bench her.
I just made a Jean/Klee comp just to have them together and is so much fun to use. Like you can combine Klee and Jean E to make a grenade launcher.
My comp is Klee, JeanC1, Layla and XingqiuC6. Is quite nice to use and is supringly strong for a team that only have one top tier character(Xingqiu). Which is great because I can use Bennett, Zhongli, Kazuha and Xiangling in another comp.
@@DefensiveBalloons Piggybacking off of this, you could do the same grenade launcher technique with Aloy. I've ran a team that had Aloy, Klee and Jean and their skills synergize surprisingly well to literally melt enemies *badum tish*.
Jean's worst problem is that she's just good. She's a great generalist. Slot her in wherever if you need a healer. Good personal DPS, good healing, good VV application. The biggest problem is that all of her peers (kazuha, venti, sucrose) are AMAZING. Outside of Sunfire and Xiao, no team actually WANTS Jean. Jean can work well in any a lot of teams, but she's never a first choice.

On early stages, just do whomever you want and build them so they can stay alive.
On later stages, my advice is do whomever you like, as long as you can have fun

@@Wandathescarletif you only care about meta value (which barely anyone actually does), then only heavily invest in Mona and upgrade jean a bit less. Otherwise just focus on whoever you like most tbh, jean is as stated above a great generalist, Mona is an insane buffer while qiqi is uh... well maybe leave qiqi alone unless you really like her/need a second healer
@@Wandathescarlet+1 for Mona. Generally, you can choose any, and it won't have lasting "damage" to your account.
Meta wise, she is still used today in popular freeze teams.
Now putting that aside, her unique sprint, taunt, and layered burst mechamic is fun too play with and master. Jean yeeting enemies into water is a close 2nd though.

One advantage Genshin gains from not having content with extremely high difficulty: You can use whichever character you want.
In many other Gachas I feel almost obligated to go after the characters considered "Meta" because they have content that is almost impossible to complete with just basic characters.
It's not an issue with difficulty but rather the solution for everything is basically "hit it till it dies" or "hit it harder"
So basicaly In the long run this advantage is pretty much on set solid enough that even future new high diff content might become not too hard for most player that at least put little more invesment.
In the overworld maybe, but in the Abyss you're not likely to be able to use.. Amber, to get a perfect clear, and at endgame in the overworld and elsewhere the scaling is so fucked that you need overpowered artifacts to have a decent experience, and that process of mandatory grinding is heavily time-gated by an insidious pay-to-win timed currency structure.
@@boyishdude1234 even for max stars you can use amber up to f11, just not f12 so i dont feel like what you say apply. Tho granted you need meta supports
:,D I feel that way on another game, they did somes updates, you dont get good weapons on gacha (you get weapons but at base stats while the crafted ones gain more stats), however you need to use reforges to improve the weapons for new content, that was a Shop Item and you could buy somes from another players by gold, now you can get it at somes NPC (limited weekly).
But on Genshin you can clear using any char you want, will take more time but is possible. Not work on trials because the timer :,D.

Jean will always be the character that I had the most fun with. The character that made me continue to play Genshin, she's not even the first one I got but she's the first one I dedicated my time to. She's not the strongest, She's not the one I crowned, She's not the one with the best damage, She's not the one with the best artifacts. But She's the one I will forever consider to be my favorite.
Jean is my best healer and non mage damage dealer..
She was the first 5 star I pulled in the game still one of my favourites and I still use her.
I would argue Jean and Kokomi are the co-op queens. Unless you're playing with friends and coordinate well, healing with characters like Bennett, Barbara, and Diona can sometimes be difficult. Obviously playing Kokomi will ensure no one ever dies and that some good reactions occur, but you're dependent on reactions and do minimal damage beyond that. Jean can do decent damage (not game breaking) with her entire kit and heal teammates regardless of range.
Obviously the video was not calling Jean weak or unusable, but I think there's something to be said about her co-op consistency!
I agree 100%. My jean was underlevelled with mediocre artifacts but she sustained my coop party in domains
As a healer main in other games, I sometimes hop into co-op domains as Jean and Kokomi just to heal and keep people alive. I find some satisfaction in meeting an injured player and topping off their healthbar.
Agreed I even make qiqi if I cannot use Jean in coop
i wondered why i liked using kokomi so much and i remember i used to be a jean main when i was low Ar, i liked playing co op with my IRL friends and their yanfei and ningguang kept dying so i had to help em out 😂
Oh Jean can do game breaking damage if you build her right. I run mine with a thrilling tales tenacity Koko and benny so sunfire Jean gets a nice buff. Literally cant die
I have her at c5, and I literally can not wait to make her my first c6 5 star. I love her.

I'd love to get C2, but she is definitely my strongest healer/res shredder/sub-DPS at C1. Somehow managed to snag an Aquila Favonia when I first started wishing, so she's even more powerful.
I don't have her, yet. And I'm angry about it.
@faludacosmos Great pair with Xiao! One of my favorite teams these days (especially for the City of Gold artifact domain):
- R1 Lv 90 PJWS/4P Vermillion/Lv 70 C0 Xiao
- R5 Lv 60 White Tassel/4P Blizzard/Lv 80 C3 Rosaria
- R1 Lv 80 Aquila/4P VV/Lv 80 C1 Jean - I have also replaced her with R5 Lv 70 TToDS/4P VV/Lv 60 C1 Sucrose for some CC
- R1 Lv 90 Sac Sword (I've also used R5 Lv 90 Skyrider Sword when Xingqiu has Sac equipped)/4P TotM/Lv 80 C0 Layla
To note, I'm F2P and wish I had some more cons, but Xiao still gets 20k+ burst plunges in the City of Gold domain (been farming it to get a decent FoPL set for Keqing). Though I don't know how much of an impact Jean's healing has on his Vermillion set, at least she keeps him alive!
I just got her at C6 last patch! She’s my Wanderer’s support, and I loveeeee her!
Sunfire is pretty much her go to team now.
It has the fastest Pyro application (even faster than Xiangling's Burst) and the damage is mostly based on Jean's EM (Bennett may steal it once a while). However, you are restricted to a very small radius in order for the interaction to work, immobilizing your movement entirely. People often call this type of interaction as "Circle Impact".
Sunfire can also be used alongside Dendro to enable Burgeon (and with the right team, you may even Vaporize through the Burning Aura). I have an example run posted on this account if you're interested.
You can also use sunfire for Melt Ganyu, You get enough pyro to melt her charge shots and her burst
“Sunfire” burgeon with Benny C6, Nahida, Xingqiu/Yelan, and Kazuha is CRAZY good. This team actually clears 2nd half of this current abyss in under a minute. Pretty crazy
Wasn't Amber's burst the fastest Pyro application actually? Anyway, Jean+Bennett is more consistent.
I'd like to use sunfire Jean for my melt Ganyu, but sadly, its duration is too short compared to my C6 Xiangling's burst

I think it's important to mention that Faruzan is very hard to use effectively without constellations and high ER investments, while Jean's talents basically makes her burst 60 cost and she can battery herself pretty easily, even without heavy ER investments. Also I think, as wierd as it sounds, that Jean is really meant to be a support for ranged characters, mainly Klee. Especially when you consider that Jean can pick up and throw Klee's bombs and aim them more precisely (also her C1 makes her skill do more 40% more damage when held), and she knockbacks enemies into the ideal range for Catalysts and Archers and a lot of her constellations are really good for keeping Bow and Catalyst Users alive longer. I feel like that's also a big thing holding her back since, most of the ranged DPSes in Genshin are outclassed by melee or they're sub dpses. I feel like her being Anemo is fine, but if her kit was more suited to support melee units she'd probably get a lot more play.

She's not made for distant DPS initially.
She's made to be versatile, polyvalent.
Her C2 buff ATK speed clearly is amazing for melee characters for exemple.
So no, she doing perefctly fine with melee carries, that's not the problem she has.
@@relax2413 But I mean, Bows and Catalyst can benefit just as much from increased movement speed and attack speed, that's not a melee specific buff and nowhere in it's description does it say it only works for melee. And I was mainly referring to her base kit and C6 Damage mitigation which is much more useful on squishier characters. As well as her skill and burst both having a knockback effect, which is something that is much more useful for ranged DPSes than melee. Same with her charged attack and how it suspends enemies in mid-air. She's definitely a great unit for melee DPSes but my point is that if you want to utilize her entire kit and not just Swap, E ,Q , Swap, it makes it harder on your melee units since they have to burn stamina chasing down the enemies she's flinging around while ranged characters are put into thier best position when enemies are at a distance. If her burst, for example, sucked in enemies continuously that would be a great tool for melee carries (Especially Xiao) since you'd just have to stay still and let the enemies come to you while you attack, (even better with effects that follow your character like Xiangling burst and Kuki Skill). Or if Gale Blade, instead of flinging enemies you also had the option to instead trap in them in a small vortex of wind, like her charged attack but it keeps them on the ground.
But one big thing is that in order for Jean to be a competitive pick over Faruzan, she needs to be c4 for that juicy anemo Res shred. And believe it or not, not everyone has c4 Jean. Im a week 1 player and only have her at c1. Sure, thats not the same for everyone, but its still a tall order.
@@Blackoutdmc Oh yeah definitely, but getting 4-star constellations can be just as hard if not harder, and the fact that you need Faruzan at C6 for her to be useful without huge energy investments is insane. Chances are you'll probably get C4 Jean before you max out Faruzan or maybe you get lucky idk 😂. Faruzan definitely is a great unit when built correctly but for most players who are casual and/or low-spenders I'd go Jean all the way. Even without C4 she's still very useful on many teams and isn't locked in at Anemo support. She's not the best at anything (except maybe burst healing) but she's definitely not the worst at anything. No other character is the game can do Damage, Cleansing, Swirl, Healing and Damage mitigation (With C5 though) all in the same burst.

Wait. Didn't expect Jean in this series. She's great and a core part in most of my loadouts. and i see her being played well.. maybe i wouldn't say a lot but definitely sometimes.
I never use her and I never see anyone else use her either. obviously *some* people use literally any character in the game, so I don’t think that’s enough of a reason to disclude her from this series. remember, it doesn’t mean she’s bad AT ALL, she’s just rarely used these days and this video explains why

@@RejectedInch , sunfire is situational "side grade" to most teams AT BEST. It's fun, but fun and meta, latter being the main topic of discussion here, are not the same.
I stopped using her after some time, new characters came out and therefore, better options in team comps
@@xanderkai6353 besides the mentioned sunfire jean she fills both the healer role and the vv shred role. Other anemo characters like kazu, venti or sucrose of course have better grouping and damage buffing but you 'need' (well not need but probably you want) a healer or shielder in your team. She is just a good (anemo) flex overall. I use her in my keqing and tighnari teams e.g.
And by i see her used sometimes i don't mean obscure just-for-fun teams like seeing xinyan or amber used but rather actual component of meta teams or spiral abyss speedruns. (of course rarely though admittedly)
Jean's biggest problem is that she is a gen 1 unit or a unit that built the foundation for what we would see in the future and for anemo she was not part of the group that because the standard for either general use or damage she is different (not just in height) she is a healer with supportive capabilities in the elements that became the damage support not the character support
One of the interesting niches Jean holds is her party wide, universal cleanse. It isn't a big deal now since hoYoVerse has basically abandoned debuffs of players but early in year 1 the Spiral Abyss was filled with stupidly annoying elemental based debuffs. You can still find them in the first few domains to this day in fact.
People really hated that mechanic since if you didn't have the ability to self infuse an element, it meant you couldn't effectively deal with the debuffs.
Jean also has possibly infinite damage through drowning, and convenient fall damage as that scales off of enemy hp
She was amazing in the Abbys floors of the past, the ones with slowing water and engulfing storm, thanks to the cleansing and throwing enemies to the air and causing fall damage was pretty useful back then.
I personally think Jean is the second best dedicated healer (after kokomi), with also ability to do high damage on herself too.
I think with constellation, jean is really good in the meta.
I use Jean every day for exploration, commissions and even bosses. She is amazing to play and even better with constellations. Sometimes, I even use her outside of Xiao teams and have some fun with her despite not fitting in the meta too much.
In your dreams , Bennett and yaoyao are infinitely better units than jean

@@nunaneto Ideally, you don't want to be auto attacking with your healer unless their name is Kokomi and she is in her elemental burst.
Jean's VA is amazing (Tamamo/Chloe, Homura!) A super safe pick for Co-op. Just unconditional healing as long as you attack; sorry Hu Tao. I had a lot of fun grabbing Whopper flowers and holding them in place while my friend's beat them like they owed us money. You can't run away if you are suspended in the air.

I remember when people learned you can get two instances of fall damage on an enemy with her E. Pretty cool tech tbh and was considered useful because of 1.0 Abyss Whopperflowers lol

I just cant help but feel hopeless. She doesn't provide even a unique/niche playstyle to compensate (they even said that she wont be effective in a burgeon comp apparently! Thoma would be better, and he's a 4-Star!). Again, I dont want to be correct here. Im hoping hoyoverse and the people getting Dehya will prove me wrong, and prove to me that SHE IS fun to play.
Dehya isn't out yet... Looking at the livestream, she is looking nice for supporting Ganyu. And even if she turns out to be bad, the game is easy anyway.

Coz i can see how dumb my comment sounds for those that havent seen said leaks. Anyways, hopefully she DOES become a good support for Ganyu. as for the game being easy and all...yes Im aware but im talking about fun factor, and im not seeing anything fun in her kit (ER issues and ICD stuff that would *potentially* prevent her from doing reactions). I could be wrong. Hell, maybe she'll turned out to be good, and this whole situation could be just like what happened to Yoimiya's beta (people were not happy at Yoimiya's state at that time, but like she's doing well now so fingers crossed same thing happens to Dehya)
2 months later: Why EVERYONE plays Jean

I'm still using her to this day, Jean is a simply great character that can cover all sorts of playstyles.
If we ever get something like "Limitbreak" for characters to reach Level100 and unlock a new Talent for them, maybe Jean's could give her an Anemo Infusion when using her burst and/or Skill.
something worth noting about her formerly being played more: fall damage used to not have a cap for enemies
meaning you could kill them via a single yeet with jean
ohhhh so that is why enemies seem to be taking no damage from falling
One main problem with Jean is that her Q pushes monsters away and out of circle.
However there is a a weird team that works:
Zhongli (resistance shred) + Bennet (for sunfire) + Nahida (applys burn) + Jean (higher cons the better)
You actually want to push them out as her burst doesnt trigger periodically, but when the enemy enters or leaves the burst area

You don't need sunfire for a burning team wth? Remove Jean and put Sucrose there instead. Now it is infinitely better.
Ummm, Qiqi's healing also scales off of her attack. And Jean's Q field itself doesn't deal damage, only if enemies passing from/into it or via self-swirls.
The Q is really helpful in this abyss 12, Jean sunfire is a meta team based on Jean's Q Swirl.
you must've only played her in TCG, but Jean's Q field deals A LOT of dmg, it's shown in the video
@@Unwebonnn Q initial cast deals damage, entering/exiting field does damage, but the field itself doesn’t. I used to play Jean a lot, so I do know what I’m talking about

Well, I got her recently and now I am building her for Xiao. I think I will play with her alot. One of the top tier standard characters imo.

I built a physical Jean that pretty much hard carried me all the way up to halfway through Inazuma. A bit slow, but with Aquila Favonius she just refuses to die.
I still use Jean somewhat regularly, especially after I got her C2 attack speed buff, which is super useful for characters that have slow attack speeds like Klee, and she can pull in Klee's bombs, so the two synergize fairly well in that regard.
How the tables have turned...
I play Jean now that she's C6
And people don't use Jean because Kazuha exists and he does pretty much the same thing she does. Uses Bennett's self infusion to apply off field Pyro.
Also, isn't Jean Sunfire litteraly a variant of Raiden national??? Why is national out of the question for Jean???

Ive mained jean ever since I got her on my 1st pull. For the longest time I played her Anemo dps. But i only did like 200k with her skill and burst. I had trouble 36 starring. But once i built her EM sunfire, I cleared it with Raiden sunfire overvape. Best decision.
I 36 starred with raiden, xingqui, jean and bennet on the 2nd half.

National is made up of a hydro applier, Bennet, Xiangling, and a flex slot. Jean burst would interfere with Xiangling’s vapes cuz of the sunfire mechanic. Besides Jean doesn’t offer much besides vv shred and healing. Healing is redundant becuz the team already has Bennet so it’d be better to go for an offensive option like Sucrose, Kazuha, or Raiden.
@@Venom-uv5fwood for you. I'm yet to 36 star with her because I haven't really used her in Abbys all that much yet. Pretty much because I don't play national to clear Abbys. I usually run Cyno Quickbloom, Keqing Aggravate, Ayaka+Ganyu freeze, Kokomi tazer, Thoma Burgeon(on field Al Haitham) and my favorite Yoimiya overvape
Jean is my first 5 star. She and Raiden have been carrying me in this game
I love playing c2 jean with yoimiya, c6 fischl and c6 yunjin, it's literally a machine gun and yoi attacks SO fast with this team its insane

Jean was clutch during the first Theater Mechanicus event. Maybe even the second one. Yeeting entire waves of enemies over the age to their deaths. It's also fun using her in co-op to yeet other players. They don't see the animation, which is a pity, but it's still fun to watch Zhongli get launched off-screen.
She got me through the abyss in the very early stages. My Jean is currently C4 and the "Jean particle" really speeds everyone up.
Started genshin in October. Jean was my first 5 star and her skin was the only reason i bought crystals. Shes on a lot of my teams. Shes awesome!😁
Jean is one of my go-to healers (along with Kokomi) and basically one of the core party members of my Xiao and Raiden Sunfire teams! Love her so much, but I understand why she's one of the more underutilized Anemo units out there.
She's not an Anemo DPS. She's a support healer. I wouldn't take Venti over her if what I wanted was healing.
This is probably the biggest stretch for “why nobody plays”. She heals, increases atk speed, and she decreases resistances. Succrose and Kazuha increase dmg through their em and also can decrease Resistances. However they also require a lot of investment through artifact farming.
Pre-Faruzan too she was the only person to be able to decrease Anemo Res, and would therefore be a main stay in Xiao comps.
Jean has one thing on every other anemo which is role consolidation. It's well known venti isn't super useful on boss floors and while kazhuha and sucrose bring more damage only Jean can act as vv shred, healer, and sometimes enabler. This allows you to use dps combinations you wouldn't otherwise be able to use.
It's also worth noting that sunfire ganyu is the only way to make ganyu's burst not a dps loss as it is able to melt both your ult and arrows. This allows melt ganyu to have good aoe and single target damage while being very durable. The Pyro damage also scales with her EM so the damage is pretty high if you invest into her. The real issue is that ganyu isn't popular either despite being very good.

Had to double-check for myself, but Jean's Dandelion Field doesn't do ticking damage: Only on placement, and if a target enters or leaves the field do they take damage. It *does* however, trigger swirl periodically while it's up (w/o doing standalone anemo damage).
With Bennet Sunfire the swirls basically do so but yes on its own it doesn't do so.
3:08 Actually small correction here, Qiqi’s healing scales off of Attack as well, which is one of the reasons I love qiqi so much.
While not many players play Jean right now cause they most likely have stronger characters but for players who are starting off Jean is a solid character to get and build if you manage to get her early in the game because you can get all of her ascension materials in mondstadt compare to the other characters plus a descent artifact set for her as well and she can keep your team alive as long as she can.

I just got jean for the first time and messed around with this freeze team where I gave her alhaitham's weapon and artifact set and paired her with chongyun, Yelan and Sayu. It was weird but fun. Use chongyun to activate the foliar incision's passive and Sayu burst combined with jeans means you can't die
one thing I'll reminisce fondly of Jean is that fall damage strat using Gale Blade is legit my 1st ever Abyss clear, since back then no amount of damage I output with my under leveled characters/weapons can beat the %based damage that u get simply by launching the Cicin mage/Fatui agents in the Abysss

Jean was my first 5 star and ironically my first C6 5 star. I can honestly say she is an amazing support with the freedom sworn and 4 piece vaner set. Her burst does swirl and her C6 functions as a mini sheild I always use her in the Abby’s. Not a broken unit but a damn good reliable character very defensive and helps survivability while buffing anemo DPS

She is a great team healer and even at C0 quite under-rated.
And her field does heal everyone in one flash, grants swirls and also keeps on healing the active character.
I have c4 Jean. I use her with my xiao for the anemo res and energy recharge and heal. She's nice

I feel like when they release the monstadt expansion of dorman port there could be an artifact set that pays tribute to Jean more since VV is somewhat annoying to use on her.
This one is a little weird - I think plenty of use Jean for Sunfire but the only argument was “why do that when Kazuha exists”.
And then “Jean doesn’t fit on Raiden National” when you have Raiden Sunfire. Idk if maybe it’s harder to find characters to do these videos on but Jean doesn’t come off as a “why no one plays” candidate at all compared to some of the others featured like Amber, Xinyan etc.
True tbh. It's not like Jean has fundamental problems to begin with. Even units like Ganyu & Hu Tao has one.
The only problem about Jean is "there are better options". The same goes to Albedo as well.

I use Jean to explore Teyvat, along with Scaramouche equipped with Lost Prayer, and Rosaria, sometimes with Diona or Yelan. Pure bliss, max efficiency.
Maybe only thing missing is a way to farm ore!

I used Jean for exploration team too in the past, but Sayu replace her now. Sayu can break ores and doesn't startled the animals. More efficiency!
This is so true but so sad at the same time. I love how Jean heals and her kit is very interesting, but I don't have room to use her since I use Kazuha. I wish she was a different element or if there was another chracter with similar healing. Also since Faruzan came out, she kinda got benched on my Xiao team.. sadge

I found her very strong in the early days before we had Rational, Dendro teams in general, and Ayaka. I can use her for fun whether it be in Abyss or easy open world, but overall other characters do way more damage or provide more for the team I'm running.
My first ever 5* and main before I got Xiao. Jean carried me throughout my lower AR days. I'm sad she isn't used as often in 2021 but I kinda understand powercreep
I think she's going to get a lot better once we get reliable cleanses that aren't Bennett. Sunfire+XL enables stuff like vape Mona/Barbara already. Imagine self swirling electro in quicken teams, or cryo in reverse melt
For anemo teams, she only gets really good at c4, unfortunately. And if you're into anemo teams, you probably have Faruzan already, probably above c2 as well... plus, you'd rather want Venti, Kazuha or Sucrose for off field pressure if you wanna go triple anemo, not another healer

I lost my 50/50 on her when I pulled for Wanderer.
She might feel outdated with her E and overall kit. But she’s been a staple for me since the beginning of the game. C2 jean is all I’m asking for 😭😭. First 5* and will always be on my teams. Plus her outfit is just beautiful.

Jean used to be a staple unit on my Xiao team, but of course that's out the window now that we have Faruzan. I still very much do love her, but before she reaches C4 I really don't see myself slotting her in very much.
Jean was my go-to Anemo support for Xiao for the longest time. Now that I have C6 Faruzan I doubt I'll ever have a use for Jean again, lol. Kind of a shame.

Sunfire, Lightning Rod (Jean, Dori, Fischl, Nahida), Wanderer Hypercarry (she's better than Faruzan and people can just fight me on it because Jean doesn't have Faruzan's 340% ER crippling energy problems), Jean Taser (though specifically with Thundering Kazuha), Overvape, etc.
Vars is right that the top of the Anemo cast is LUDICROUSLY overpowered, but she's still phenomenal to use and does get the work done. S tier unit being compared to SSSSSSSSS tier units.
@@fzhs7030 Faruzan is not better if you can't use her burst, and you can't use her burst optimally unless you have 340% ER. I know. I've tried. It doesn't work.
And yes, if you consider what reactions are driving the meta (Quicken, Hyperbloom, Vaporize), she can facilitate all three with the right comp, such as Sunfire or Lightning Rod, and she allows for higher damage in the other tram slots since you can afford to run much more aggressive DPS to drive the team. This gives her a place in the meta. Not a gold prize winning position, perhaps, but a place nonetheless.

If so, they do the same thing other meta teams do in the context of achieving a set goal, so while it's not award winning, it does *fall into the meta* by accomplishing the same things that Raiden National, or Aggravate Keqing, or Quickbloom, or Shinobu Hyperbloom, accomplish. Just takes a bit more effort.
@@fzhs7030 fair. You won me over. Jean is a D tier unit that should forever be benched because she's #AlwaysTerribleForever. New content is specifically released to nerf her to the ground. No weapon works well on her. She's clunky. Her healing is terrible.and her battery is nonexistant.
Jean has always been a character that I never took much interest in, but maybe one day I might decide to level her up more, because she’s actually a decent support.
Jean is probably going to see a significant increase in use again with Bennett when we get the Cryo Abyss Herald. Sunfire is absolutely going to destroy that thing.

Jean was my 2nd 5 star, and I used her a lot of the early game, but hard to justify it now.
Once I got C-4 Jean she never left Xiao's side and if there's corrosion she's my first choice to add with a VV set
The combo of C2 Jean and Yun Jin with any auto attack dps (Hu Tao, Wanderer, Yoimia, Eula, etc) is a lot of fun and works well since those are mostly focused on single target DPS, meaning Jean's lack of CC isn't noticeable. I still run her in most of my exploration teams and she sees a lot of use in Spiral Abyss for me. (but I may be bad at the game so...)

I’ve enjoyed slapping her ult down with Ayato’s in taser teams, but yeah, she’s harder to work with. Still love her, though. I was so happy when I finally got her. I’d love to have more constellations too, but Qiqi keeps haunting me instead.

ive got jean as my healer and emergency dps and it works really well. especially if you have good reaction options with your other three characters.
I think the only thing Jean need to be broken is a support unit that infuse anemo on weapon (like benneth, chongyung or candance), we already have the desert pavilion set, Faruzan that decrease anemo res and own Jean C2 and C4 alongside his high and fast charge attack multipliers, add a weapon like the skyward blade or even the black sword and thats gonna be pretty nutty
I have been a Jean main since December 2020, so this video made me so happy. She saved my ass in Dragonspine, which convinced me to build her. I wasn't fond of her character in the story nor of her playstyle, but I have grown so attached to her after 3 years of exploring nations, fighting for my life in domains, trying her out with different supports, weapons and artifacts, she has become my go-to for most content. Absolute favorite unit to play with! She's still not in my top 10 Genshin characters non-meta wise, but keep in mind I started negatively due to harassment of Jeanluc fans.
Raiden sunvape is my favorite team because I get to use Jean
The one place I use Jean is in my Mono Geo team as there is no need for swirl and element absorption here. Her atk scaling comes in handy when we consider other healer like Barbara or Kokomi who scale with HP. And her quick swap ability works really well for Itto who needs as much time on field as he can get.
I usually run her with Aloy, Yanfei, and Venti. She's great forcing enemies to hit the ice bombs! Great for repositioning and healing

I remember reading that a lot of people go for her NA buff on C2 in that she and Yun Jin can either help Yoimiya, or Ayato who rely on it. That + sunfire could help Ayato constantly vape
always interesting to see these meta perspectives. when wanderer first came out, since itto was on rate up too the abyss favored anemo AND geo. so I decided to have some fun with my teams and ran wanderer, faruzan, kazuha, and jean with the standard mono geo team on the other side. i got cleared abyss without issue, and it was fun! since anemo units just FEEL fun to play imo (except for faruzan. her and sara have atrocious playstyles)
Using Jean in this last abyss made it a lot more doable. There's better for DPS, but she's still a fantastic pick.

I have to give credit where credit is due and say that jean carried me in the early days as she's the first character i ever pulled and even after pulling kazuha,maxing out sucrose and getting wanderer i still use her wether as scara support or main dps she's just so fun

Following this channel since the begging, I love this videos but this is the first time I'm surprised with the content. She's a very consistent healer who heals the whole team, perfect to reduce resistances and a plus of damage and crowd control. Didn't thought she was unpopular.
Because she is easily replace by more specialist character. Only advantage that I see of using her is that she can cover many roles.
before i got Kazuha i would use sunfire Jean with my Raiden in abyss and it was SO much fun!! so glad you mentioned it bc i think it’s a highly underrated play style for Jean
Kazuha has just made my jean even better, he didn't replace her.
Use him and rozarias bursts to apply cryo fast and Sunfire jean to melt it. When fighting tiny enemies I replace Kazuha for venti.
