I hate Lidl. I go in for some 99p tea bags and leave with a Pillar drill, vice and 2 tarpaulins. I spend the next week recovering from open wallet surgery. Just kidding, I love the place. Cant keep out of the middle isle. Great channel by the way.

Hi Rob, A man out of my heart. Your workshop is fabulous. Your video is precise & concise without any convoluting jargon and unnecessary padding. Very comprehensive even to the grub screws and locating pins. I have never seen anyone doing it. Super engineering acumen. I am a great Parkside fan and very much like quality German-made quality stuff. The best thing is if you do not like the item, just take it back with the receipt. No fuss from the UK crew. Do you have a plasma cutter and gasless welder videos, please? Lovely to listen to your non-jarring voice. Thumbs up and subscribed. keep them coming. Best of luck.....

Very kind words my friend, and thank you.
I’ve always been impressed by the parkside range.
Glad you enjoy the channel , more videos to come soon , all the best.. cheers Rob 👍👍

I forgot to show that the dowel jig when used with the bracket ( when I measured 11mm) can be used to position the jig on the side of the wood (not the edge) to drill and make corner joints , thanks for watching !

Bit like yourself always pick up the nick naks in the middle isle as you never know when you will need them later on. Like the video's, nice simple straight to the point no messing.

I love your workshop Rob and I particularly like the Parkside goodies. I myself am a Parkside fan. Last week in Northern Ireland we had the Performance range in and I spent a fortune 👍😁

New subscriber here. Love your workshop Rob. Just wish I had something similar in terms of size. I have no space in my garden for a shed so I'm making do with an attached single garage which is too small for a modern car so it doubles as a "catch all" & workshop. It's only just 8ft wide so with racking down one side & a homemade work bench & wall cupboards down the other it only leaves a couple of feet down the middle for access. I have stuff rammed in everywhere & even hanging from the ceiling. Like many people I have acquired a wide range of tools over the years & I'm a sucker for the middle aisles of both Lidl & Aldi. I have quite a few Worx cordless power share tools which I rate highly. I think I may have some of those spring clamps as well. My garage is freezing this time of year so not much is getting done in it at the moment. I did think about heating it but with cost cost of electric at the moment I've gone off the idea. That said I guess I could use a portable gas heater & run it off of the BBQ gas which is not being used right now. Mind you bottle gas is not cheap either so I guess it will remain a no go zone until the weather warms up a bit. Do you heat your workshop?

Hi Colin, thank you and you are very welcome here😃👍 I can’t fault the middle isles.. I’ve never had an issue with quality.. and the prices are great! Heating wise.. I have a log burner that I still haven’t fitted.. a job for 2023 , gas heaters will do the job for now. Thanks again all the best Rob 👍

I was in Lidl yesterday but needed a wee, so didn't stop in the middle aisle for once. Looking at those mini clamps, I think I'll pop back tomorrow though.

Nearly all of my tools came from Aldi or Lidl. It's amazing how many people will take the p for wasting money on cheap plastic toys - my answer, if they are THAT bad, how comes both Aldi & Lidl back them up with a 3 year warranty?
My Lidl table saw was just on its 3 year birthday and I noticed that the blade would carry on spinning long after the motor was shut off ! I figured it was just a simple keyway on the spindle. Luckily, I had kept the receipt - in a brown envelope stuck to the underside with duct tape (as I always do). I sent them an email & got a reply next day asking for a picture of my receipt and serial number. THE VERY NEXT DAY, a bloke is stood at my door with a huge box at his feet - a brand new table saw!
There's plenty of retailers out there who would quibble over faulty goods that are less than a year old!

I totally agree, and that’s a great story to prove their confidence in their tools and for the consumer to buy. I have many Parkside and workzone tools, probably not accurate enough for professional use, but for me I’m very impressed! Especially with the 3year warranty. Thanks for watching and commenting, cheers Rob

@@WeekendShedHead Not just with the tools though, I've had a few Medion computers and a Tevion telly. The telly started making a squealing sound after being on for a few hours, I'd had it almost 3 years so didn't hold out much hope. Sent off an email with a copy of the receipt. next day I got a phone call from a local engineer wanting to organise a visit. When he saw it "that's the trouble with these cheap tellys, they don't last long, you get what you pay for". He opened it up and discovered that the insulation was breaking down in the mains transformer (so, in the olden days when tellys were thicker!). He sprayed a load of lacquer all over the coils & it cured the fault. That telly went on to live in my son's room when he was old enough. We owned it well over 10 years, I even sold it for a few quid so was well pleased.
28 month old monitor (Medion) developed 5 black pixels about an inch in and inch from the bottom. New one came the following morning (I wasn't even told this was going to happen), ended up rushing round disconnecting the old one so the delivery guy could take it away.
Scanner stopped working after a couple of years, new one came the next day. this one stopped after a couple of years, I discovered it was the external power supply/plug, mentioned this when I contacted them, new one arrived the next day (I didn't leave this one plugged in all the time!).
Hard drive failed about a week after its 3rd birthday. thought I'd chance my arm, new one came the next day. Trouble is, the original has a dedicated partition containing all the startup files so you can wipe the drive and reset to factory. I had to ask around on Aldi/Medion support forum. Fortunately, a friendly user copied their startup partition onto a small USB stick.
Lidl pressure washer, the pressure lance split so water came out of the side - next day delivery of a new lance. The following week, same thing happened to the trigger section, again, next day delivery of a new lance.
Because of customer service like this, I will go back time and time again.

I've got a few, and they're ok for a while, just the occasional job, but woe betide you if you have to deal with Lidl "cuustomer sevice" and their subsidiary "Service Partner".
I bought a leaf blower-shredder 1 month ago and the collection bag had not been sewn correctly, so it blew shredded leave everywhere. I've emailed them 5 times so far, and they've asked for the same information 3 times.
My lawns are covered in leaves now. I bought the blower-shredder because I have arthritis in my hands which makes raking leaves extremely painful, so I need the collection-shredding function. All the information that they requested was sent as soon as requested. I don't suppose they even read my emails properly in the first place. Dreadful & inattentive so-called "Customer Service".

Like most dowel jigs, it references to the middle of the material- but (unless you are only using one dowel) there is no reference to the end of the join. Aligning by pencil mark is way too imprecise - which is why Festool make a fortune from their Domino system, which is a sloppy fit by design. What to do? Make a jig that references to the joint end- see ruclips.net/video/3ksKgWhiAXo/видео.html for an example.

Cheers mate 👍😁 unfortunately I don’t think they are, but these sort of things come round again.. I can highly recommend them when they do! They are strong! Next video I’ll put up will be tools available at the time! I’ve had these sat on a shelf for a while, and now I need to use them😂 All the best Rob 👍

I stopped buying their electric tools for the simple reason that their batteries suck and they keep changing the design so trying to get a replacement is almost impossible.

I’ve had to return all but one of the electrical tools I’ve bought from Lidl, (the bench mounted disc sander). Either underpowered or just plain not working. Hand tools have proven to be ok. Now the power tools I’ve bought from Aldi have been brilliant, again except one, The rechargeable rotary tool, fully charged it runs for about 3 mins. Unfortunately it looks like Aldi are changing all their ferrex tools to a smaller battery, looks very similar to the Lidl parkside battery packs.
