      This is about it. It’s pretty easy to be honest. You make a drawer and add a “floating shelf” to it

      No. Just built as I went. It’s super easy. It’s just a drawer

      White oak

      thats what i thought and was afraid of lol. thats so expensive haha. But i cant think of another type to use and make it look correct@@topnotchfinishing

    How wide did you build the drawer opening vs. the size of your mantle?

      Lets say the drawer opening is 70. And lets say the slides are 1/2 per side. So the drawer is 69. The mantle slid over the drawer glides. So the inside measurement for the mantle is 70 ( maybe a little bit of slack, so 70 1/8
