Sugatsune Push latch install (ML-ZN80)
Concrete is permeable so moisture from soil beneath slab always moving into basement thru slab. Most places its code for any wood to touch concrete has to be pressure treated…….. but if its just for basement storage🤷♂️🤷♂️
It’s just in the garage and been there for years and I don’t have any worries at all
can you imagine having to measure each one and cutting. This is called efficiency! nice job!
100%. Great setup
A good friend of mine just 3 weeks ago had several of his fingers dangling by shards of skin from a table saw. It happened in an instant. That’s why I’m here.
I have two now. Love these saws. Worth every penny. Fingers are priceless
@@topnotchfinishingas a beginning woodworker who needs to transport saws after use for storage, till I get my shop built, would you recommend the compact or the job site?
@@scottforrest2097probably the job site. Due to rolling stand. I much prefer compact though. Hate the fence on jobsite
@ well that stinks, I really need to be able to easily roll this thing around, maybe I can use a DeWalt stand on the compact version.
can you open all the way where the door lays flat against the wall when opened?
Gosh no. 90° due to the slats
Is that seven nation army?
No
How do you lock the door
Single sided deadbolt
@ from outside
So tight. 😮
The tightest
Your voice reminds me of Artpentry
That bad?
@topnotchfinishing It's just another channel on here
I love the grain on that mantel - what type of wood did you use? a type of plywood?
White oak veneer 3/4” ply
What brand of jig is it
Look up hardline precision
Happy New year. Hopefully you will put out more how to videos in 2025
Thanks. I'm planning on it!
No adhesive, relying on the pins alone?
Ever try nailing into studs and then try to rip it off?
Rip it off, why would you do that
@ 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What's the song called
Instrumental of a doja song
central cee - doja instrumental
Thats expensive, do you recommend it?
I find it very handy for a lot of tasks. For me it is.
Are they mitred edges for a clean corner? If so did you rip them on site and if so using which tool?
I ripped them on site with a sawstop compact
I love the results and scribing to the floor looks great but im not sure i totally understand what you mean when you say you scribe the outside corner??
I mark the outside corner and then cut it to the right degree on the saw
Nice video only thing is the sound is very echoey you should probably get a mic to improve video sound quality.
100%. Very old video
Hows the bosch compared to senco. Thinkin bout buyin one
Bosch 18 gauge is better. The Senco 15 gauge is better. All companies have their pros and cons
Looking at doing similar. Question for you, how do you insure the door stays flush with no latch installed? Do you use any specific hardware?
Wall needs to be perfectly plumb. That’s huge. Also closes onto a magnet
I'll take the before set-up, Thank you. As a matter of fact, I'm doing it now. Don't need the storage underneath.
Yikes
You're gonna run out of room for toe nailing as you approach the wall, then what? Hit em from underneath toenailing through cleat/nailer into the 2x2?
You’re not wrong. I did CA glue and small L brackets from underneath
was wondering about this exact thing. thanks!
Collins clamps work great for the temporary miter joint when scribing.
True enough
Show me, you opening the door all the way open to the wall please mate.
Can only open 90°
Hi! What is the mantel height?
40
Do you prefer 18 ga 2" over the 15ga nail for these parts? Smaller nail.head, but like doesn't pull the piece as tight
It’s a catch 22. 3 nails per with the 15 and 6 with the 18. The legs were nailed with 18. Usually headers are thicker, so a 15 is nice. I just wanted to show there are different ways to do tasks. Mainly just showing the jig and the 15 was close by lol
Clean work
Appreciate it
$35 .no thanks
Worth it
I like it
Thanks
If you build the entire house out of bricks everything has backing.
Cool
You've Got to have great backing. Framers don't know anything About finishing.
You are correct
Besides blocking i also put thin plywood backing on waist to head height in bedrooms for al the decorations people tend to hang. Gives the sheetrock a longer life for the swiss cheese decorators.
I like it
Where is the hinged? Waht type of hinges
Concealed hinges from @sugatsune
Excellent 👍🏼👏🏼🥰
Thank you! Cheers!
Us finish carpenters do gods work😂
Sure do
Why don't you just build houses? Not this jokes. Then you can hang anything you need everywhere you want. Sorry guys, these "houses" with sticks are not houses, it's sheds. Crappy, flimsy sheds where you can't turn off condition on summer or heating on winter because they don't hold temperature over half an hour
Lolz
Please make a full video about coping vs miter! "Coping is lame" is a perfect clickbait title lol 👏
So true
I think outlets in baseboards is the worst fashion trend of the last 100 years. The whole point of the baseboard is so the wall and stuff mounted on the wall (including outlets) are protected from shit banging into into the wall. Outlet on baseboard is like head on car bumper 😂
Don’t do it in your own house
I agree with this. Snobs who think they're too good for a sawstop are right until they lose a finger, can't work, and die poor in a ditch.
100%. Sawstop is worth the piece of mind
Precise finishing work that you love to see 👏👏👏
Yes! Thank you!
Straight edge cuts with square corners? You monster
I am
Where to buy this?
Sugatsune
Looks like MDF shiplap? Or was it hemlock? It’s basically a panel wall. In the future would you consider routing V grooves in a sheet of 1/2” MDF or something for efficiency? If you have a good painter following you who can deal with the MDF hairs on edge grain. -Fellow Finisher.
It’s mdf. And realistically it should have come from the millwork shop already done and made from 1 sheet. You do as the builder requests. These were cutoffs
How do I do this ? As a DIY amateur for under the stairs any tips ? Thanks 🎉
Hire someone. Hidden hinges is super technical
Why will you not use a bit with ball bearing
Bad things can happen. Plunge comes up a bit and destroys jig. I’ve seen bearing come right off, jig and door ruined. Bad bad bad things can happen when you rely on a bearing
How many times i went in to hang grab bars or mirrors n there was nothing around where it was suppose to be.....but but we put it there
This is why I do it for my good builders
Thinking ahead, ..who would have thought this is an integral part of the construction process..
Not the framers lol
Would you take an apprentice? I'd love to get into the trade.
Where do you live
@topnotchfinishing Southern California. I just now notice you seem to be from Canada. Any clues on how to get into the trade?
I like seeing the strategic spots you're putting your nails.... In a strategic order.
Okay
How do u lock the door
Single sided deadbolt
I hate when people tell you that you’re wrong just so they can be lazy
Happens a lot
