Love this… more please. My valley is a mess and the task of cleaning it up is a daunting one and this inspires me to pull up the big girl pants and do it.
When removing paths and fence, if you hold down the button it removes the whole chunk. Takes less time then dragging if you want to clear out a spot

@@JamesTurnerYT James you can also quickly remove already dug holes with an object, so I usually place a bed on all the holes and when I cover the last few holes, i go back ingame and then back again and remove the bed. If that makes sense. Just a small tip :D :D :D

I'm not worrying about decorating AT ALL right now because of how many new buildings I'm anticipating we're gonna get and decorating is really hard for me with console controls so it would be extra annoying for me to have to undo and redo a whole area. If I get a random idea I'll do it but that's very rare lol
Oh, this was a surprise and a delight! Feel free to do more DDV content, this was very enjoyable - and gave me some ideas for how I should start decorating my own Valley, since I've been frozen in a state of "oh god how do I even start", lol.

Omg, I love this game! It has taken over my life. I know Deli has been playing it for a while now. You have barely touched it in 60 hours. I got 1900 hours in!
just a tip from someone with 400hrs, if you want to remove holes just place a rug on top of them, and leave edit mode, then remove the rugs (saves a little time with huge farms to move)
Apologies if I missed it but in case it helps at all, if you plant the crops in their native area e.g. aubergine in Frosted Heights they grow faster 😊

I have over 350hrs in game, and your village looks sooooo muchbetter than mine! I haven't done anything to it except placing houses and stuff that was required for missions
I think the natural progression for this is a series where you recreate your Disney homes in the sims as best as you can 🤔
Gluon did a valley build with the castle and plaza.. would love to see James try his hand at it some of the builds too!

With the finches and paths you can actually just hold x and it will remove all of it at once
I’ve been playing this game since launch and I have just over 600 hours in it and it’s probably the best life sim I’ve ever played in my entire life outside of the Sims, it’s so good, so many quests and things to do. 600 hours and I’m still not finished

I'm seeing all of those pathways and thinking of how much of my own pathing needs to be replaced now that they've added bordered versions 🙃
I know right... I just made like 200 golden and stone tiles without the border for my plaza and now I have to redo it all!

You walking around with the shovel inside reminds me of a game I played in the 90s. Every key on the keyboard did something different, and the game was in "rails", so one had to look in the manual to see what they did. So the player character had to clean the stable, so I managed to pick up the pitchfork and take up the dirt (different keys by the way), but as I was 7 I couldn't read fast enough to make her throw it out. So she walked into the kitchen with the dirty pitchfork, stared at an apple on kitchen table for a while, then walked out again, and attempted to feed the poor horse the pitchfork and the game softlocked.
I never played it again, although it had been fun to try and see if I could get further now that my reading is much faster XD. It was an old 3D game so she somehow looked like a humanoid log.
This is my favorite game right now. James playing it is just what I needed!!! Love it!
Your incredible building and decorating skills are undoubtable, that town is looking sweet! I'm liking a lot the options to change the material texture of the items, it opens a whole new world 😉 for customisation.

Weird tip that has helped me with the FOMO in this game, start an offline valley. New user, not connected to a nintendo account. Play for a while, and it may inform how much you want to spend, and how much you NEED to spend to have fun in the game. Everyone will have different thresholds, but i have found it is super fun without needing access to the premium paths and events/shop. And ive found that if i change my mind and want to play a new event, i just start a new nintendo account and i get the same bonuses as i got when i first bought the game including fresh moonstones, thw furniture etc. None of the limited time bonuses, but the standard purchase bonuses. Its been a good way to not spend more money and still experiencing things. You can also use a lot of redemption codes in new saves too! Again not all, and the golden potato has been bugged, but i got all of the festival of foolishness rewards yesterday too. And i restarted last week. Its fun and i get bored without tasks.
This video was so fun! I’ve never been super interested in playing Dreamlight Valley but the decorating aspect seems so cool. Would love to see more of that!

I don’t have any other gaming systems, and my main console experience is with Super Nintendo and Game Cube back in the day.
Super excited to see you playing this game!! Couple of building tips:
(1) you can delete all paths/fences without having to drag it (basically hold the remove button)
(2) you can lay down a rug to cover dug areas (saves you from having to dig them out when moving a farm)

And this is why I'm good with not having a color wheel for sims 4. Throwback to sims 3 times where I spent more time changing swatches than actually playing the game. Lol but for this video it makes sense since that was the point, to show off the new feature. Love the living area especially the golden fridge, nice touch 👌🏾😍😂

Also, if you block a mining stone it will respawn at a different location for you, but you can’t move them.
I'm so excited that you're playing DDV! I jus started watching the video and had to pause when I saw you digging up your crop patches to get rid of them. James, James...I've learned a lot about simming by watching you play. Now let me give you a quick tip. When you want to get rid of your garden patches, use a rug. Go into furniture mode, get a rug or a bed, place it on top of the holes over and over again until all the holes are gone, leaving the rug or bed on the last bit before going back to live mode. If you put the rug or bed back into your inventory before returning to live mode you'll have to start over again. But this way is so much quicker that "filling in" the holes.
Yessssso cool seeing non sims content! I loveeee your series ( it’s the only sims stuff I watch anymore) but as a game ts4 is so stale 😢 if you are open to more variety gaming I’d love to see more diff content from you!!

I'm finally playing this game. I'm loving it so far. Been playing for about 6 days now inbetween work and parenting, about 27 hours total so far. I feel like I've come a long way in a short time but decorating the valley hasn't been a top priority yet. I want to unlock the last 3 biomes and move in all the available characters (pre-ep) before I start if I can help it. However, I have started on the inside of my house. I love your use of the signs with the storage, that is a great way to stay organized!
As a switch player, furnishing/landscaping is the bane of my existence but I love to see what other players do!
Lowkey I wish there was a way of downloading layouts from other players
I also hate it so much on switch. My game is always crashing when I spend more than five minutes doing anything in build mode. Tried just changing the pathways out for the new ones that were just outside my house. Took me maybe 5-10 minutes to change it. It took an age to ‘save & quit’ out of it and then I was too afraid to go into a menu because I thought it would crash… but walked around a bit and it crashed anyway. Had to redo half of what I’d done😢

I'd definitely watch more videos in Disney Dreamlight. Maybe not videos on doing the story/quests since I'm doing those myself but the interior/exterior design you always do so nicely? I'd

Tip about getting rid of holes in large quantity.
In edit mode, place down a carpet or any large item over top of the holes, and it will delete them.
Continue to move around the object until all holes are gone. Then LEAVE THE ITEM IN PLACE, and exit out of edit mode. Then go back into edit mode and delete the object used.
If you delete the object used before exiting edit mode the first time. All holes will re-appear. So you have to leave it placed when exiting the first time. So it saves. After that you can delete with no issues.
I'm so jazzed about this. Please keep designing so that I can make my valley nicer hahaha
I can't separate Mickey and Minnie! They're houses are so cute next to each other. I love what you've done in this video though! I wish I had that fun ferris wheel. I keep seeing it everywhere!
To get rid of the holes from planting you can use a carpet and place it over the holes.

I love these type of videos, because I want to organize my village better but I don’t necessarily have the vision for it. When I unlocked Mirabel, I had no idea where to put her ginormous house, same for Prince Eric. So this is helpful 😄

If you want to get rid of garden plots quickly, you can place a large piece of furniture (I choose my house usually) on top of the holes! It will automatically remove em!

I love it! I was totally unaware of this game, asked my kids... (adult kids) they both said it was "cozy" - they both felt it was a chill kind of game and that I would love it. Thanks for sharing James and I'd be here for more! It may even bring me to playing it as well. 😀
A faster way to remove the The wholes from your farm. If you go in the furniture menu and grab a rug and put it on top of your farm plot, it’ll actually take away all of those holes you just have to make sure when you leave the furniture menu to leave the rug you can go back in and remove the rug and then all the holes in that spot we’re gone while you’re in the furniture menu you can pick up the rug and place it back down several times if you’ve got a very large farm just make sure when you leave the furniture menu to leave the rug at first and then you can go back in and take it away
If you want to remove a whole bunch of holes at once, just place a rug on top of them! Saves so much time when moving big farms 😊😊

I love Disney and have been playing the Disney Dreamlight valley. I can't fish in the game but I love watching everyone else playing the game.
I thought you weren’t interested in this game, James, so I’m glad you found it to be chill & scratch that building/decorating itch whilst not being Sims. I have played on XB1 X on Game Pass since the beginning, so I’m just catching up on the newest update with the Fairy Godmother. However, I honestly didn’t do much in the way of decorating other than cramming houses in and evening out the roads that were already present. I have lots of decorations from quests/events, but haven’t crafted that much & have yet to take advantage of new customization options. I’m very interested to see you fix up, not only your house (the amount of upgrading and adding levels and rooms is ridiculous!), but the other regions, as well. I also always complete the Star Paths, as I find the reward items interesting. I don’t mind whether you stream this game or only play on your own enjoyment time and just do decorating videos. I’d watch all of it. 👍🏻 Hope you and especially Deli who was going through some things (+ Bowser, always) are doing well. I really needed this, myself, as we recently had our 2 red eared slider turtle 🐢 sisters escape without any traces in the neighborhood from our backyard overnight on Sunday/Monday this week. We had them for years, from hatchlings, and are heartbroken.

I’m pretty sure you can get rid of dug areas by moving items over that area. Like a house or something else large. That way you don’t have to manually dig those areas to decorate.

I wish they would let me move all of Goofy's stalls to one spot, but they have to stay in their biome. At least we can put Kristoff's stand anywhere.
