Correction on this video. The bees would not be the same size. One would be larger and one smaller but in comparison to the 2d perspective they would be the same size.
No depth perception
Hey I'm in the video, jokes aside I really appreciate this I've been blind from my right eye since birth.(22 in January) This brought me to some tears realizing I'm missing out on some great perception. Thank you for this!
I have a fake eye and I can understand everything in the intro
I know. I need to but it seems a little too pretentious but maybe not...
I can understand the pain of being one eyed. We know that we cannot experience 3d movie like others. I felt sad sometimes. But after watching this video, now i got to know that i am not alone. We are afterall a unique community.
I never got to experience VR..
Never watched 3d movie.
Got into an accident and now i have One Eye.. i hv always wondered..
This video means to so much to me.
Same here. I used to love to fight and that's how I lost the vision in mine.
Same, I was born with childhood glaucoma.
Well I CAN tell you first had playstation vr works. I have one. Just bought it a few weeks ago and it works great. 3d we won't be able to do bc we see in 2d.
@@dripgoddrew i used to love to fight and thats how I lost mine.
You should do more videos on your eye. I have a fake eye too and I want to relate with you.
I only have one working eye, I have an eye condition that sliver time detached my left eyes retina and my right one has 20/100 vision. As you can tell when the be was the whole screen and not 2 separate screens the screen favors the side he can see out of and not the center. I was thing about getting vr and this helped me a lot on my decision thank you I hope you read this
I was born blind on my right eye, my eye blue colored, small, and the pupil is very small. Don’t know what this condition is called but I can only see light and this video means something meaningful to me.
Ok, this kinda helped me, since I have glaucoma from birth, and my right eye is blind, no light perception, the left can see but not much either!
But it helped because I thought that while having one eye that the experience would not be immersive, I was wrong, and thank god I was!
Has to my perception of sight, I can not say that my perception is on a 2D perspective, but make it 2.5D because I understand that evaluating distances, visual field, depth of field are limited, but still my brain can overcompensate some of those visual tasks! I also have some troubles on eye and motor coordination, but that is related to my bad sight also, but in virtual reality I can see things that in reality I can't, imagine that your eye has problems of rendering the world, is like I play life on lower settings but I can't change my "graphic card". Shadows are at normal distance, textures only in HD when near the objects of scenario, low distance settings too! My eye is like a low end 90's graphic card! Never the less great video!
Thanks so much Simon! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Hey man I have Retinoschisis. And the feel the exact same with the 2.5d my vision in my working eye is 20/100ish and a smeller fov but I played basket in high school for 3 years and started. I could give accurate passes revive them and shoot pretty well but it’s hard to imagine what difference it would be with 2 eyes working together. To see out my left eye I have to close my right and force my brain to use it. I’m considering but vr and this helped a lot
Oh wow i have the exact same man glaucoma from birth only my left eye is blind and i cant see well with my right eye. Just makes you think how small this world really is. Good to know vr works well gonna get one on black friday.
Can't see anything in my left eye and was hesitating getting the psvr2, found this video and def gonna go order it now lol thanks for the video!
That's awesome! Let me know how It works out.
Ow wow I have the same story as u and same eye that's crazy been wondering how vr would work for me .
Pops TV that’s crazy. Yeah VR was a cool experience
Me too so I'm part of the club
I have one eye that i barely can see out of. I want to get a vr now
me too also i just see in my left eye, and i like vr ,i have gear vr, and oculus rift,i enjoy it,i know iam missing something like 3d,i can immagine but i never experiance 3d of course, but i think its like real life, we can walk ,run, drive with no proplems,it should be the same with vr, but also we have to take care of our one eye,iam glad to see this video, thank you
sameer sahara thanks man. I look forward to trying a better headset. Any recommendations on the newer stuff?
There's some incomplete information in this video. Stereoscopic vision is just one of the things that we use to determine distance. There are a lot of other visual cues that all come into play to allow us to determine distances. people without stereoscopic vision can still judge distance very well in most circumstances.
I was wondering if the VR experience would be better with 2 eyes and after this, I really don't think there's my difference. I got my eye shot out too when I was 11 lol
Great info for us gamers that are vision impaired in one eye, when I was 13 I developed a cataract in my left eye and have had complications ever since.
Hope it helps. It’s hard to translate what it’s like with one eye.
I'm blind in the same eye. I was wondering if I could use playstation vr. So glad I happened across your video. Thank you.
I guess I would describe it as simulated depth perception
Thank you for the video! I ordered my oculus two weeks ago but I have recently been having double vision so I’ve been closing one eye and I was worried if it would affect game play if it was like this forever
The dizziness might've been motion sickness, my dad had the same thing when he played Grand Turismo in VR.
Who’s your doctor? It looks great. I need a new one and unfortunately my doctor passed.
Thomas Ocularist out of Memphis did my prosthetic.
Cody is the reason we can't have nice things!
HAHA so true
But it won't work..
With that Blue - Red 3D experience.
Right ??
Xubodh Khadka from what I experienced there was no Blue Red 3D type glasses. It was basically like a mini screen in the goggles.
But yeah 3D movies have never worked for me.
I was thing if you bend the paper ones on each other would it work
At 5:53 cross your eyes inwards until you see one in the middle no change the depth between you and your screen and see that you have no perception of depth if you're able to use sterograms this should be easy
I have a condition called optic nerve atrophy which basically deteriorates my optic nerve throughout time and recently I've wanted to get into VR but I've been scared since it's very expensive and I didn't want to get disappointed if it didn't work currently. I'm stuck with my left eye Looking towards my right peripheral. I still see things in 3D though. My right eye is almost completely blind. So I am wondering if VR will still work for me. Despite my complications with my eyes and my Needs to be looking toward the right.
Erin-Kun OwO if you have the means I would for sure give it a try. I think the prices have come down somewhat
Im wondering if the vr would not be good for leople with lazy eye
Unfortunately, I can see only one display without 3d effect in VR. Something like watching TV before my eyes. Stupid idea...
I have one eye as well and the PS4 headset works as well. There is also a way a image on a phone has a 3-D effect for me but it’s a specified photography effect that’s really cool When I can remember what the name of that is I will come back and drop another comment
Sammy Dickerson sounds interesting would be interested to know more.
thanks!! i to have an eye that bad so this was helpful for me.
am i the only who is sad about his one eye lasted
Hilarious! Oh yeah sorry 😬
I am not alone...Thanks ...It's hurts me
My eye got shot out with a BB gun too last year, I forgot what it’s like to see out of two eyes
Keep keepin on dude. Sorry to hear that. As you get older.
neat conclusion! now i wonder if VR would work with no eyes
I just need a cyborg eye now.
Are you trying to be the one eyed man
How is there only 5 comments?
Aww I have a Maltese too.
i was born not being able to see out of my left eye and i’m thinking about buying the oculus quest. do you think it would work?
ITs G0ated oh man I am not qualified to answer that. I just know that set I used worked on me and gave me a very authentic experience.
Hey I have the same thing but it's my right eye what a coincidence
@Come from Naptune :0 don't see on your left but i don't see on my right :D
Come from Naptune sure!
I was born not being able to see with my left eye too, did you buy oculus, if so did it work? I am interested too
mann... i rly wanna try vr out but i dont know where i could do that.
Qanxx wish I could help ya bro. I just happened to know a guy.
There are a few places like VR world or something where you pay to use their setups and games, I used to go to Spadefox for VR but they may not be around anymore.
I was born with 2 eyes but one of my "seeing" nerves didn't develop but somehow I have depth perception lmao
Dang I have never heard of that. So are you blind in one eye or just no depth perception?
@@EExplores yep I was born blind on my right eye and yet I have depth perception pretty wierd huh
I went blind from a tumor behind my right eye and i can still play catch with a football pretty ok
im curius too. if i can use vr
DO it!!!
@@EExplores thanks man for sharing your experince. it gives me hope hehe
good vid bro
My mom is blind in her left eye and I let her try vr
Amy Bahre how did she handle it?
@@EExplores She thought it was interesting but I don't think she got the full effect. I showed her the RUclips VR video of the elephants, but she didn't want to use it for more than a few minutes. She moved her head around a bit and kept tilting her head to the right which has her good eye. She's also 40 years older than me and struggles to use a computer and a phone so I think the new technology intimidates her.
Amy Bahre well at the very least she trusted you and gave it a go.
