Sigur Ros do some crazy beautiful things live & this has always been my favourite version of Njosnavelin, it's unbelievably stunning. Rips through me, yet is soothing and peaceful at the same time. This is the one song they did for BBC's Culture Show Special, and boy is it special.
I'm an enormous fan of these guys. Never get tired of listening to their music. It's the only music I can stand before an oral exam, it makes me relax. Go on making this fabulous music, guys!
I came across this song a few months ago and am sure it will be #1 on my Spotify wrapped this year. Hope you're still listening to this 14 years later!
like someone speaks to you in your mother tongue for the first time in your life and you understand everything perfectly clear, the binding force of the universe revealed, the theory of everything explained clear as a cold November morning after a windy night… But then the elegant emptiness of this singularity paralyses you, if this is the ultimate truth, arggh, now what, there is it nothing to hope for left, and then you say to you OK, it hurts but is so brilliant and impossibly beautiful,..

There are several versions of this tune on YT..and each and every one is Top Notch. I don’t have a FAV...but listening to Kjari’s piano playing on this version may be the best...but then, I miss Jonsi’s reverb Guitar alternating back and forth with his cello bow effects... Love all the versions
@Frisou277 I know exactly how you feel. The words and the music are so full of emotion, it makes you think of memories, what you loved, what you want, what is gone.
@thompson8305 In a way it's good that it's not mainstream. It makes it special to the people who listen to it. No such thing as music being over-rated in an under-rated genre!

as in the last words from Steve Jobs....oh wow, oh wow, oh wow...incredible captivating music that makes you wonder where the 4 and half minutes went. And Jon never even looks at his guitar when playing...
What's with the analysis and dissecting of this song??? Just shut up sit back and listen to the beauty of it. (who cares what he's saying|) it's just amazing!!!
March 2021 and still coming back.... who else???
If it weren't for Vanilla Sky, I would have never heard of Sigur Ros and would have missed out some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.
very true, a masterpiece
Obviously, you’re a casual music listener if you only knew of this genius band through a sheet brick movie

Most beautiful song ever made
total mente hermoso
just full of beauty...(song and the girl)
Why does it look like Brian Cox is about to explain the entire process of how and why a drum beat creates waves that we can hear. Fantastic stuff
Orri needs to be back in the fold….that last album was mediocre without his presence
No me canso de escucharlos. Hermoso
this was indeed a pivilage to watching this and i can cry to it all day it's so beautiful !

There are no word, it's all gibberish (Vonlenska). The lyrics are what you make of these sounds ;)
Que hermosa melodia. me encanta
Me trae recuerdos esa melodía
It's not music it's magic.
Quien iba a pensar qué en ese momento estaban grabando la obra maestra de ellos, el disco de los paréntesis ❤️❤️
I want this song played at my funeral
Screw that...I want it played Today, Tomorrow, forever...why wait until your long gone...

awesome!
It doesn't matter what he's saying anyways, a lot is gibberish to fit the music. Many bands do it, listen to the Cocteau Twins. Great song.
Stuart Joseph Russell aka Njosnavelin78, I remember you.
i think i like the moustache...it adds a lil more of ,of maturity into his look and his presence i think i like it a lot...damn i m 26 and i cant even grow moustache...lol...so i agree with lambofrock
