Just this week i bought a 2024 sportsman 570 hunt edition… been so cold here in Pennsylvania, I haven’t even drove it yet. I hope it works well for me.
I’m betting that you will love it. Congratulations on the new quad… ATV… 4-wheeler… whatever you call it there in PA (my wife is from Pittsburgh, glad to meet ya!)
Good honest video. I'm glad you like your Polaris, but I detect a little disdain for them too? To me, Polaris engineers must skip right over their cousins and go right for their sisters. Some of the most bassackwards, hairbrained designs and features of any brand anywhere, IMO. All the crap I've seen them do is too numerous to list here, but I will comment on the one you mentioned....AWD. Ok, AWD has it's place, for sure. It's fantastic in a rally car, or in a family sedan made for good mpg, or even patchy ice and snow on a highway. But in the off-road world that ATVs are built for, it's not even close to the best system. An autonomous locker that must slip before it engages simply does NOT work better than a true 4wd open diff with a manual locker. From a user standpoint, a locker must work all the time in places such as Moab where the sandpaper grip of the slickrock will rarely let a Polaris kick it's front wheels in to help "pull" the quad over a ledge or crack. A manual 4wd with a manual locker ALWAYS has the system in operation so there is always power to the front wheels regardless of traction. Secondly, from an engineering standpoint, a magnetically operated clutch pack locker with sensors renders the machine with a major problem in that the front wheels are never mechanically connected to the rears. The result is the need for another band aid system to correct for rear wheel only engine brake skid, and that's exactly what ADC is. Polaris tried to make it sound like only their machines with ADC have engine braking on hills, and that they invented it and own it, but it's hilarious to every other brand user out there because our machines automatically have engine braking to four wheels simply by just having the 4wd system engaged. No other systems or computerized garbage needs to correct for going down a hill without your back end fishtailing all over. Also, a true 4wd system works just as good in reverse as it does in forward. So if you get started down a line on a hill and need to back up and take a different line, it does it effortlessly amd automatically. On a Polaris AWD system, the computer cancels the ADC as soon as the gear selection goes into reverse! Polaris People.....friends, Polaris has been trying to reinvent the wheel for decades and selling you the Koolaid that their bad idea was actually a good one. There is a reason why all serious off road vehicles from buggies to Jeeps to ATVs have 4wd systems and not AWD systems. Don't even get me started on battery placement, gas tank placement, air box placement, roll centers, center of gravity, shotty workmanship, cheap plastics everywhere, one lever braking, 900 pound ATV's, servicing nightmares, high stall helix's, etc etc. Every Polaris owner eventually learns that you must start thinking about trading in your Polaris at the 3000 mile mark if you want to have something to ride and not be in the shop, under water.
Ive come to notice through reviews that Polaris riders are more composed and less high-maintenance/demanding than the Brand-racists out there. I am Quad shopping and really like the 570, all problems are well documented so its easy to deal with eh. Yes they are worth it 👍👍happy trails.
Excellent video. Nice to see the comparison between the new suspension and the macpherson. I got a 2023 with the macpherson strut suspension. I’m really happy with it. 1700km in 5 weeks on it.
Now that is a lot of riding my friend! Congrats on the new machine. I’m trying to plan a trip to Death Valley before the year is out, that will really showcase the suspension on these rigs. Thanks for watching and for the comments!
Honestly I would have thought the same as well. It’s just the McPherson front end is a little stiffer and has a lot less nose dive in the corners. The a-arm front end actually bottoms out much quicker and is more plush. In corners it also tends to nose dive quite a bit. There is absolutely no bump steer with the a-arms, I think besides ground clearance that is the best part of it.
You are lucky to find a ride command version, that’s what I wanted too but Polaris had stopped production of those last year due to “parts shortages” according to the dealer anyway. Enjoy! 😉
@tonybahama6817 man, they had a ultimate trail 850, naturally more money, but the had a new 2024 sportsman 570 ride command with 2k off, so I got the ride command, it has P/S and three different engine power modes, so I switch between standard and performance modes, what a blast, once it gets broke in it has plenty of power !
I put an extreme air vent on my clutch exhaust. It was a little pricey about 40$ Canadian Ive had it in water over the tires and no issues so far it like frog skinz

@@RC.56 the water pack on the back is a rotopax and I found a ladder mount on Amazon that worked. I would call that well broke in 😆 honestly though we don’t get out nearly as much as we would like due to our busy schedules this past year. I’m hoping that will change here pretty soon. I would think the kind of miles and hours would be more important than how many, and the biggest factor would be how well it was maintained. I think the hours/miles on my quads… atvs… 4-wheelers (I don’t know where you’re from) is well below the average. Best advice I can give is when you get it home do a full service (engine oil and filter, transmission fluid, and front drive fluid). You’ll have to let us know how it works out, and enjoy!
That’s tuff. The can am will have more power for sure, but you can’t beat the ride quality of a Polaris (that’s my opinion). I think you sit on them both, see what you the feel of better. I really don’t think you can go wrong either way.
@@goodjerm thanks for the honest and fast response I will try the polaris, to see if catch me. I've already testes the can am 700 max and it was amazing
My brother just bought the 2024 570 sportsman automatic. In high gear the cvt doesn't hold back at all when going down a hill. Is that normal? Does it have to be in low? My 450 Kodiak creeps in high, no matter how steep the hill.
The engine braking isn’t too aggressive, only in ADC mode will it hold back, and it does have to be in low gear with the 4wd and ADC both turned on. The normal engine braking will slow it down a little, but the ADC can be quite aggressive
Well that is a good question. I found this RotopaX mount on Amazon. I then replace the bolts that came with it with stainless steel bolts (the originals broke). It looks like the price has gone up, but here's the link to it anyway... www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BWD1R41/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you’re riding in mostly dry environments then this quad will do wonders for you. If your crossing water quickly, entering light holes, or riding in sand beware the clutch exhaust will cause many many problems. TERRIBLE design for an OFV something needs to be changed instantly. Not a good atv choice at all imo
Polaris gets a bad rap, but probably because they sell the most machines, thus, get the most feedback. They definitly have the plushest ride of all the quads out there, so you gotta expect the front to dive a bit during braking and cornering. Just be prepared and expect it. That piano black plastic is the worst idea for a quad. Thats gunna look like shit very soon, showing every scratch. You didn't comment on how one quad had LED lights and the other had Halogen. Curious what you think of them without the aftermarket LED light pods and light bars you got installed. I don't know why Polaris removed the rear storage compartment from the older model, the space is there, it couldn't have cost much if anything to keep it.
I think I mentioned the lights in previous videos, I like the LED factory lights but not really a big difference in how they actually work. The missing storage bad under the seat is because I’m in California. For these quads they actually have evap canisters in that spot so the storage bad won’t fit. Agree on the ride, in my opinion, the most comfortable ride on the market, been that way for years.
Unfortunately that was one of my first videos and I had forgotten to turn on (or plug in) a microphone. And, maybe forgot to record some steps as well. Live and learn... Thanks for the comment and for watching!
So what do you do when your coming down a steep grade and you use low 4x4 and it lets go of all your traction in to a power slide! Out of control. I now use high gear and feather the throttle to stop the power slide. But what else can you do? IM riding an 04 500 ho.
Without descent control that’s exactly what you have to do. On those older quads I keep just enough throttle to keep the clutch engaged along with the brakes.
