- Polaris ATV riding up a scary steep abandoned mining road to 8000 feet in search of the perfect ATV experience. We were riding two machines: a 2022 Polaris Sportsman 570 and a 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570. Did we make it to the top? Best ATV riding in British Columbia.

Also, I appreciate you taking the time to explain your supplies and preparation for this trip. Thank You!
Thanks Joseph!
As an ATV owner myself this gives me more prospective on its capabilties. Love your adventure. Keep it up. Thanks.
Very well done. I'm from idaho .. my whole life and this expedition gave me goose bumps. Very brave
Thank you for making and sharing this experience with us .
Wow, you trip was epic. Wife and I ride our Atv’s all the time but have never done an overlanding type of ride. You guys have inspired us to so. Thanks for the amazing video
I really enjoyed the video. Thanks for taking us along. The view was awesome.
What an opportunity to be on a beautiful ride with a loved one. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Chris!
This video is awesome! You did a great job putting it together. That trail is epic, would love to do it someday.
Polaris finally got smart and relocated the battery up high from the bottom of the frame. Only took 20 years. My wife has a 2019 570, and it's a pain to replace the battery. Plus it's down where water and mud are.
You did a phenomenal job documenting your trip. Couldn't have enjoyed this anymore than I did, you took us on an experience of a lifetime.
Just came across your production. Nicely done video, really good job with the narrative. I'm really trying to send back some clips for the family. Shared your video with my grandson, he was glued to it.. Thanks
Great camera footage and scenery. Looking forward to your next overland adventure!
Thanks so much!
Wow! This was a stunning trip to say the least! Most excellent adventure and video taking us along for the ride! If you ever do a more 'basic' trail ride in the midwest I'd love to join in! I just slapped down my credit card for a new Polaris Sportsman 850! Once again, beatuful scenery, camera work and sketchy trail riding adventure! Thank you!
Unbelievable video! Thanks for sharing! The views are AMAZING!
Just beautiful! You and your wife (?) have some big balls!! Some of those trails looked a little more than a little sketchy. Thanks for sharing!!
hahaha! Yes, wife!
Stunning. Thanks for taking us along
Absolutely stunning thanks to show another part of beautiful world.. love all your creative photographers skill..
Thank you so much Eli!
Best land expedition video I have seen. Great job on explaining things also.
Great video and oh so beautiful up there! Keep the videos coming. Good luck on your future journeys!
I cannot believe some of the comments you received. People in general are unbelievable. Looks like an amazing place…..getting to 8000 ft on an ATV is rare. We mountain sled and ATV/SXS as well. I have helped get a body down the mountain, people don’t understand the unexpected things that can happen, so safety and gear is so important. I hope you carry a satellite communicator. Great footage….thanks!!!
Thank You for sharing your adventure!
The Cariboo Chilcotin definitely has some of the most beautiful scenery in BC. I recently purchased a small used atv and have explored a small section of the GRST Trail around 100 Mile House. I usually go solo and have a good kit with me. Just need to renew my PAL and get a chainsaw now. Cheers and enjoy exploring awesome places on your machine
Beautiful I love taking trips like this. Good job 😁👍
Excellent video, pictures, and well done on the painting. The trails and the views from the top were perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Carver!
Love your existing and explaining the tools you use. We ride 570/850 Polaris and camp out in areas of The Ghram Mountains in Arizona. Dusty and can get wet. Thx for the video!
Such a nice documentation. Completely underestimated!
One of the best ATV rides I've seen! Great Video
Thanks for sharing that trip! What awesome areas. 😮 I got so eager to take my own sportsman on a longer adventure.
Thanks Niklas!
This video is incredible. Hope you decide to make more!
I like what you have done. Very nice. Looks like a great trail.. thanks for the h hard work you put into this
Keep coming more ...this is so encouraging and awesome.
Amazing views and trail. Thanks to share all of this with us.
thank you Fabiano.
que bonito video gracias por ta maravilloso viaje
I enjoyed the video! Looks like a very interesting area to explore.
Thanks for sharing your experience we us.
great video and the capability of those ATVs it is remarkable I have a 2022 570 trail and like to explore too and now know how deep I can go in the water without getting stuck, thanks, and Ride on!
Ford truck and Polaris ATVs you are brave man
Loved your adventure! Mountains are just the best.
Mate that was great we do this a lot here in Tasmania too it’s an incredible adventure every time you guys ride safe cheers
Wow what an awesome trip! I'm inspired.
thank you thank you very much for the adventure of a lifetime God bless you and your spouse
Great video Tim! A couple gear change ideas that might make your trip easier. #1, different tires on those machines. Something with more plies like BearClaw HTR would be more puncture resistant. The sidewalls are very stiff, I'm convinced you could ride them back flat and not even know it. I punctured a sidewall in those factory polaris 489's (pinch flat from rocks like you are on) and will always put aftermarket tires on machines from now on. Also since you have the same machines, consider 1 spare rim and tire that you can leave at the truck should you have a major problem...that way it won't alter subsequent days if you get sidewall damage. Then you can leave the air pump at home, but there is a way less change of actually using it. I personally run sunfA033 (maxxis bighorn pattern) but i only trail ride and not in as much rocks as you. #2, For the tow strap, a piece of 10 or 20ft synthetic 3500lb winch line...basically 1/4" rope, way easier to store. #3, I would probably make a custom quick release chainsaw mount with as much as you used it in this video! Take care and thanks for sharing with us!
Very sage advice. Sounds like you have seen some serious duty. Your point are well taken! I want those tires!
Very nice. Thanks for sharing. ✌🏻
Great video and being prepared. I recently lost an ATV down the Side of a mountain from trying to ride up a steep off camber ice field.
Absolutely gorgeous trail
Great trip!
This is such a great video of a remote location and the photos were awesome too! When I go riding my ATV i carry all the same safety gear for my remote trips in northern Ontario. Thank you for posting this video.
Thank you so much!
How far can you ride on a tank of gas with your 570?
about 100 miles...however if the machine has to work really hard it can be less for sure@@Scott-wr6hz
fantastic video
Great video ! ! ! Thank You for making this video .
Thanks Joseph!
Loved this
Beautiful video brother 👌
Absolutely AMAZING video!!
Thanks Mario!
Can’t stop watching… I’d love to do this
ugh... loving it!
Thanks for sharing. Watching it was so encouraging. Trying to convince my wife to go too. When will be the next?
such good information
absolutely beautiful couple spots where a little sketchy but verry cool
Thanks Norman!
Good video. You definitely are cautious. Your a little to cautious for me, but hey looks like you had a blast!!
One other peace of gear you could get is a helmet radio which lets you communicate just by talking in your helmet. I have the Sena 10s BT comm system and it works well for what you guys do you may want one with more range.
So cool looks beautiful atv can go just about any. We’re your brave enough to take them
I like your camping style! We prefer the backcountry camping also.- - -
Chilcotin region? Is that the same area a season of Alone was filmed on Chilko Lake? - - -
Yup, the chainsaw is always on our front rack too. It's a MUST HAVE indeed! - - -
That wild flower field was amazingly beautiful! - - -
WOW, what an amazing adventure! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Really nice job on the editing and narrating! - - -
I was very much into nature photography when I was younger. Now I'm filling my retired life with "expeditions"/adventures on my ATV.
Thanks for your detailed comment. Yes, this is the Chilcotins and I love this part of BC. We camped at Mud Lake on this trip and went riding from there.
Chilko Lake is in the same region. I made a video about grizzly bear photography at Chilko Lake. We were there while Alone was being filmed in September 2020. Here is that video: ruclips.net/video/uxIDjow2DUA/видео.html
Amazing videos. I would love todo a trip like that. You don't share locations by chance do you?
How has reliability been with the Polaris? Any issues of note?
Also, why select the smaller 570's and not the bigger 850 or 1k cc machines? I think I know the answer, but am curious of the response.
epic video, thank you
Beautiful
Please do more of the atv expedition videos its so awsome to watch
I'd be scared too if I was in a remote area with nothing but a Polaris to get me home.
I came to the comments, just to make this comment! Lol. Gutsy! Lol
Ya me too.
Great comment luv it!
I feel the same way. but must say after winning a 450h.o 2017 in a draw and really trying to kill it before the extended 4yr warranty was up. It never let me down on trail, only had an electronic issue that was just bad ground & just brought it in last week for leaking front diff & front links.. for how hard I've rode it I can trash talk it , considering almost every time out I've had to go back & pull out a 650 or a sxs..
@@silenteyes-rp6ij i won 2002 polaris sportman 325 in a raffle for 25 bucks(5 tickets) and can confirm i beat the living piss out of it
Loved it ..
So sick!
This was great! Very similar to a place called Taylor Park, Colorado. Loved it!
Where exactly did you go?
Assuming there was no cellular connection there?
How do you like those Sportsmans? Ever had another brand? If so, good? bad?
beautiful footage - but not really any content on the title of "2021 570 vs 2022 570" --- figured some comparisons or etc. --- thanks for sharing the journey
i would love to have a adventure like this maybe 1 day😢
mark my words this channel will be famous very soon
ha! Thank you JupiterSteam8!
Wow that’s so awesome. I don’t think my wife would have done that.
Get another
The craziest thing you did was pull that little single axle trailer 10 hours with two 4 wheelers.
Ever heard of a big bore pistol? Lots quicker than a damn shotgun
I am so jealous! I wish we had something like in Texas.
There is a place west of Little Texas CO that is higher in elevation and a whole lot closure to you..
Texas is a big desert 🏜 go to NEW MEXICO it's beautiful there or Colorado cheers bro
Amazing where was this again?
13:33 wow just beautiful- will ride there someday- wonder and glad u choosed the 570 g- great motor and brings you evrywhere ;-) 1000cc guys will moan...
Nice
Just told my wife we need to do this too!!!
What was your camping location?
the Chilcotin is beautiful country.the wife and i have been all over there fishing and camping.it's our go to area when we want to be alone.not even cell service.
How many miles can you ride on a tank with a 570?
Was just thinking, that looks an awfull lot like my Sportsman. What year is the Touring? I have a 2018 myself. Use if mostly as an allround machine. Plowing in the winter and such.
Some small adventures here and there. Awesome machine, but it has a lousy voltage regulator that is having a hard time dissapating the heat when under load. But I love it, comfortable, reliable, and get's you anywhere you need to be.
Today bought a friends 2018 Sportsman EFI with plenty of extras. He def had some E trouble and was in the shop. Glad to know you like yours. My older one was a 2008 500 HO. Sold for $4K USD 3 days ago. :)
Id take my 2012 polaris 550 touring EPS up there anyday.
Awesome video and a trip some would say of a lifetime. One thing I’m curious is if you had any cell service deep in those hills and valleys at all. Reason I ask this is things could happen and having an emergency way to call to someone outside your location could be detrimental. You figure someone driving to your spot could take a day. Most likely would need a helicopter. A Satellite phone with having no cell service would be ideal.
Did you have any form of being able to call someone in case of an emergency?
Great question! There is no cell phone service up there. We had Starlink back at the truck but that would not help in an emergency. I keep a Garmin InReach with me which can send out a text by satellite. I forgot to show it in the video....
What's this location?
Do you feel there’s a big difference between a touring and standard? Two seat vs not
No big difference. I really like having the touring so I can double a passenger safely.
Roads look nice to me
Great videoWhere is that , I would like to do that tripI live in northern British Columbia, Between Prince George and Prince Rupert
you get to do the red rose trip? Its near kitwanga
So you live near Smithers, which is an amazing place! My trip was just north of the town of Gold Bridge. We camped at Mud Lake.
Got the name of the trail? is this Relay? got a GPX, thanks
Yes it is. If you go there, write me and let me know the trail conditions.
That looks amazing. Would you share the location ?
Hi Graham, we camped at Mud Lake, north of Gold Bridge.
@@timshields3377 Thanks. What mine was it that you rode too?
Honestly instead of all that stuff you're better off to have patch kit and a few tire tubes and tire spoons. Sometimes the holes just too big to plug.
9:21 deep mudhole followed by "trees you cant get around" you couldnt ride with me. I could kinda tell that by the intro tho
Dude park your truck and ride in ? I have a Polaris ATV nothing but problems so I got a Honda ATV more reliable very dependable machine . My next is a machine is a dual sport KTM one of the big boys with all the goodies !
Moto vehicle prohibited area. FYI you saw no one else up there riding because the mountain you went up is restricted to drive any motor vehicles on, that was illegal. It was definitely illegal to be driving around the tops of ridges off trail like that too....
If you Get sum 1" wheel spacers and 26"x9" big horn style tires these atvs will side hill and climb anything the big ones will np. Seriously Any tires are better than those stock ones, night & day difference.
Guys this is an EXPEDITION. An atv EXPEDITON. 😂😂 Get over yourself.
If you use fix a flat be prepared to buy a rim.
