On those steep drop-offs, have someone hold onto your back tires so that the quad won't endo, then when the front tires reach the bottom, you just gas it. Works every time. I have went off of vertical drop-offs that were 6 feet high, and absolutely vertical. It will work. One time I was in a deep canyon and had to go over a downed tree that was about 12 inches in diameter, and there was 4 feet of air under the tree. My 2 buddies held my rear tires and I eased over. I actually got off that time, and stood to the side. I gassed it and it leveled out slick as a whistle. My 2 friends were on dirt bikes, so we just man-handled them over the drop. We were soooooo hoping that we did not have to go back up it. None of us had been down that wash. A little ways further I had to winch my quad down a 10 foot vertical drop. One of the bikes went around it on a very sketchy 4 inch wide trail, and the other guy just pushed his bike over the side. I could not believe that he did that. I told him that I could lower his bike with my winch cable, but he elected to shove it over the side. A funny story about that, both of my friends had been down that wash the week before on their bikes, but they had dropped into the wash past those 2 vertical drops. They told me that they had found a wash that I could not go down with my quad, the week before. As we went over some more nasty obstacles and made it out of the canyon, they said that this was the canyon that they were talking about. I am 76 years old now, and I mostly ride alone, so I do not do that sketchy stuff any more. But if I had help, I would do the holding the tires thing again. It is really not a big deal on places like you see in this video.
We thought about doing something similar, but since it was an out and back part of the trail anyway, we just didn’t think the risk was worth it. And none of us are super experienced riders so we just wanted to be cautious. Thanks for the recommendation though!
@@BroBuildsGarage You are most welcome. My Son and I went on a trail called the "Foredice" that is in the Sierras close to the Rubicon Trail that is near Lake Tahoe. It was the roughest trail that I have ever been on. It totally destroyed the bottom on my Polaris Sportsman 500 quad. I had to completely redo the skid plate system after I got home. I had to winch so many times that I would not even rewind the winch cable, I just wrapped it around my chain saw mount. I do not ever want to repeat that trail. My Son had his very well modified Jeep, and he had to winch a lot too. When I lived in Nevada, I would go into the most rugged terrain just to see if I could. That was 30 years ago, I am much more reserved now days. 20 years ago I went down to Moab. My Son was with a Jeep group, and they did not want any quads with them the first day, so I went by myself. I caught up with 4 Jeeps and asked them if I could ride along with them because Moab has some terrain that has the potential to kill you. We had a great ride. Those guys had never seen someone on a quad go over that challenging terrain. I had them hold my back tires a couple of times. It was awesome. Thanks for the reply.
This is one of the very few videos on youtube that is watchable with background music - it isn't completely dubbed over the machines, or outrageously obnoxious, or both. The best videos only have the music made by the machines. Still worth a thumbs up.
Thanks! We like music in our videos (obviously), but I know what you mean. We really try to keep a good balance between the natural sounds and the music.
You went up on the Wagon Bow ranch! My Grandmother was born on Bogles Ranch Rd. I own 50 acres of land there because of my upbringing in that area. I LOVE that land!! I thought I had scoured the Aquarius Mtn Range, but you brave men have shown me there's much more to be seen. As if the scenic vistas weren't enough to take your breath away, I thought only cowgirls & seasoned cowboys knew about this GEM in the desert, with it's own aquifer, just off the HWY! I have LITERALLY stood on that ground and watched water swell from the ground at Tom Brown Well. I have saved so many men who didn't understand the terrain with my big badass truck. Surveyors. From the Aquarius Mtns to Burro Creek, SOLDIER ON! ARIZONA IS BEAUTIFUL!!
Swansea is a very interesting place. The Parker 400 race used to go through there. Along the old railway you can see where the trucks used to go up the sides. They had to move the course because Swansea is a historical site now. The mine was owned by an English company at the time that Great Britain was getting electricity. The mine built a railroad from Swansea to Los Angeles. They loaded the processed ore on ship's and sailed them around Cape Horn and then to Swansea Whales where the ore was made into copper wire. If you get back to Swansea again follow the above ground pipe line all the way to the Bill Williams River and there's a pump house where Swansea got their water. A truly spectacular canyon on the way there. Also while walking around the river Bank we saw signs of Beavers in the middle of the desert. I stayed three nights in the same Motel as you with the great TV reception! Camp Bouse is also an interesting place and is worth researching the history of Pattons secret weapon tested there. I told my riding buddy on the second night that we should eat in Parker because I wanted my waitress to have teeth. Great video. I bought a 2023 Can Am Outlander 700 xt and I want to explore that area again on a much newer machine than my old Foreman
Great video, having mishaps and getting stuck and stuff on the trail makes it memorable . But I feel so sad for you guys when you finally get back to the staging area and find such an evil thing has happened to your vehicle.
Yeah that part sucked for sure, but it all turned out okay. Geico (or really the adjuster who came out) was super awesome, the tires guys were incredible, and we all came out safe and unharmed, so overall it was incredible trip!
Been there a few times. I seriously even pissed in the creek he dipped his hat in. It’s a great trip. My advise take 2 weeks to do it and take your time enjoying it.
Hi from Canada! After watching this video we are planning a trip there. Excellent video. Made me feel like i was on the trail . The guy with the neck brace, hilarious!,
Great video!! I have a ‘22 Overland. Dropped exhaust valve with only 675 miles on it. I treat my stuff very well. Definitely moving away from Chinese junk. Again, awesome video though!!
u go on grt rides!!!!! i was wondering if the trailer or atv would b there when u went back but the scumbags got ur truck, i woulda been more angry lol ppl had to see them....
Wa-Hoooo what a wonderful adventure. I’ve explored Arizona deserts a lot in a jeep and this brings back lots of memories. I’ve been to the gold king mansion
Great video ordered my 23 model yesterday delivery 2 weeks was looking at the Cf 1000 but for £700 more I get the overland with all those extras can’t wait 😊
Looks like a terrific, fun trip! Just found y'all thanks to YT algorithm! 🤣 Gonna have to go back and watch the trailer build vids now... 🤔 Thanks for sharin' the ride! 👍 Sucks that your wheels/tires got stolen... can't leave anything anywhere these days. I was more worried about the trailer when you left it behind to ride the trail without it. Infuriating. 🤬
Was checking out your trip.. it’s truly amazing truly beautiful there. I’m in Athens county ohio.. just had to say looks fun as u no what keep riding!!! GO KAWASAKI
Cool video. Had no idea dudes were doing this but absolutely love the format. Much cheaper way to overland than jeeping or way less risky than an adv motorcycle
At 7:11 you refill your cooler with icecubes and water bottles. You can also fill it with a few frozen water bottles. Keeps everything cool and by the end of the day, when they're defrozen, you can drink those bottles as well. That way you have way more space in your cooler. That is if you can find frozen bottles on the go offcourse... 😅 If you freeze them yourself, just pour out half a glass cause freezing them expands the water and will damage the bottle 😊 greetings from Belgium.
Awesome video! Suggestion - take it with a grain of salt - maybe set up some trail cams around camp at night on the next one? Always cool to see some nighttime critter footage
All adventures will have setbacks. You guys still had a blast. Looks to be an awesome adventure for the books and an insurance claim for the truck. Dealing with the trail and it's problems is part of the game. Dealing with the human aspect with the truck not so much. What was the issue with the quad that wouldn't start. Would be nice to know for all of us CFMoto owners.
We honestly aren’t sure yet. I’m going to try swapping the fuel pumps this weekend and see if that does the trick. Otherwise it’s scheduled to go into the shop next Friday.
Some fantastic riding there. G,B&U looked like so much fun. Your trailer is great. Excellent camping location, I am sure there are so many out there. The whole ride was so cool especially that Maggies wash. That lasty day of driving had such great views. Sorry about your truck man, bummer. I enjoyed the video, Thanks for sharing.

There’s a local dealer not far from where I live. I think cfmotos are just as good as the other brands. They don’t have quite as much power as a canam, but they come with a whole lot more for the money.
verry nice ride i thought the other two guys had the Cforce 800 till i got a closer look i have the 2020 600t great video and what was wrong with the guys wheeler
Yes, but the best place to get the up to date file is from the Arizona Peace Trail facebook group. They keep that file updated with road closures and stuff like that.
Me and my wife are just starting our atv story and I picked out a couple of cfmoto overland 1000s because of MSC. Thanks for your videos. I'm finding all sorts of inspiring ideas for trips.
I'm not done watching, but before you just buy another POS OEM spring, I suggest you go to Dunbar spring in downtown Phoenix (literally they are near 5th ave and Jefferson???). They were one of the first businesses in Phoenix and are very good at what they do. Ask them what would work best, but they can *MAKE* you a thin spring stack of three or whatever they recommend and they will last forever. Haven't been there for 10 years ish, so a call would be recommended. Maybe someone saw what happened to the wheels and tires off your truck...if not, we can just hope the rattlers or scorpions get them.
Did you use any kind of navigation during this trip? What are the names of the main trails? I'm new to learning how to find and navigate trails out west. Any tips?
I have no idea what the names of the individual trails are. I used onX Offroad on my phone. There's a facebook group for the Arizona Peace Trail and they have downloadable gps files (for garmin, phone apps, whatever you need) that have the entire trail, including all the alternate routes, waypoints, and points of interest.
We did need the fuel packs one time, between Quartzsite and Fisher's Landing. You definitely don't have to camp. You can make it to a hotel each night. We had originally planned on camping a lot more often, but man the trail wears you out! So we decided to stay in hotels more often. Not sure what you mean by the video comment...this the video.

I’ve seen some videos out there of people riding a dual sport. Some spots would definitely be tough!

I definitely will. I have to finish up the final build video, then I’ll do a wrap up (and fixing the suspension) video.

i have a sport qaud and i just send it strait over small dropoffs because i dont have much clearance.
The point in the beginning where we had to turnout around was a down and back trail so we wouldn't have been able to make it back up those dropoffs.
Parachute glider was an awesome site to see in person i bet

@@BroBuildsGarage man that sucks hope all is good with it now
You guys got lucky where you broke down if you'd have broke down twice out there in the boonies you really been in for it
That was a great ride! Do you have a GPX file by any chance?
Yes, but the best place to get the up to date file is from the Arizona Peace Trail facebook group. They keep that file updated with road closures and stuff like that.
Dirch leaf springs make a swing arm suspension
Who got to bunk with Trevor? Also what caused the CFMOTO to not start toward the end?
Top end had to be rebuilt. Mice chewed up the paper air filter and we didn’t realize 😬
Looks like an awesome trip aside from the theft. Did your buddy ever figure out what happened to his quad?
Not yet. We’re gonna try swapping the fuel pumps next. If it’s not that, I’m afraid it might be something more serious.
Great video. Do you still have your CFMOTO 1000? If so, how's it holding up? If not, what are you driving now?
I sure do! It’s fantastic! About 1700 miles on it in a little over a year of ownership. It’s a phenomenal machine!
How did you make your cfmoto street legal? What a great video. Can't get enough of these videos.
We get plates in Idaho. Arizona allows atvs/utvs on the road as long as they’re registered in the home state.
Me and my wife are just starting our atv story and I picked out a couple of cfmoto overland 1000s because of MSC. Thanks for your videos. I'm finding all sorts of inspiring ideas for trips.
That’s great! They’re a blast for sure!
Sir, what are your gopro settings for the majority of this ride. By the way great footage and ride
Oh man. I don’t know. Definitely 4K. Probably 24fps. Auto everything, with a limit on the iso at 3200 or so, probably.
@@BroBuildsGarage thx. I’ll start with that. Just got a hero 8 to use on my Grizzly 700 and FJR 1300
Good thing the cops showed up so quick.
Might need a Suzuki Samurai, or something like that...
Jeremiah Johnsons you guys are.
In Sweden we pay around 15 dollars for 1 gallon....
I wish we could do this in Australia, but the government really hates people being able to use quads for anything except farm work
Did you actually need the fuel packs?, Looked to me camping wasn't needed , How about a video for others wanting to do that trail
