Just tried this on our Cocker Spaniel. He’s afraid of fireworks, thunder, and lightning. We had him on a prescription, but he had a bad reaction from conflicting with his Kepra for seizures. We have been giving him Melatonin and he’s done well with it, until this morning during a thunderstorm. I have the knots offset from his spine, and within fifteen minutes he’s laying down quietly. He’s stopped panting, but still has a bit of a quiver in his back legs. Thanks for this wrap information, because we’ve felt helpless in being able to help him.
I see that ur dog has seizures. My lil dog just started having seizures a couple months ago and the vet put her on Zonisamide. We don't know what is causing them unfortunately. The vet recommended adding Keppra along side the other med too, is the Keppra working for ur doggie? Also my dog has a hour to 2 hour long panic attack after she seizes, does the melatonin work for that type of anxiety? Would doing a anxiety wrap maybe help with that?
Sorry, for all the questions. I'm still learning on how to take care of a small dog with seizures, and getting advice from others helps...
@@erinbowers-long7687 You probably already know this by now, but people say CBD from the hemp plant is a natural alternative that is actually good for seizures in dogs actually. But ask the vet 1st and see if you can get a coupon or something. Also, if the human ones seem to be less expensive, ask the vet to give you the gram or mg or whatever that you can give your dog, and since it is natural, what is the absolute max you may give your dog. Hope this helps.

I never make a knot and I make sure the bandage is flat and not twisted up. Works for my dog.
I'm in shock. A friend sent me this video bc right now there's a thunderstorm and my dog is having a real panic attack. I found some old elastic bandages and I did this and...now we're chilling on the balcony with thunderstorms going off and she's ok with it.I'm amazed.
the TTouch people will tell you NOT to knot on the spine, but slightly to the side. pressure on the spine - and there are two knots on the spine here - create a conflicting message. unfortunately I am not qualified, so I can't explain why, but please do consult them for the correct wrap method!
just tried this on my 2 dogs and 5 minutes after they are laying calmly and fell asleep immediately

And when neighbors think it’s a good idea to shoot them whenever. Obviously I wrap her when she is calmer

You should NOT tie the wrap on the spine, which goes right from skull to tail...
I've seen many videos of people wrapping up their animals badly. I'm not saying this lady is doing it wrong,but I'm not sure I'd do it exactly the same. Or as tight. 👍🏼

Could've use this back when we had our dogs one of them used to hate the fireworks and would always become super needy start panting and shake allot until he eventually went to hide under a bed or behind the couch.
Please explain to me how this works? And I mean that in the most inquisitive way because I have a very fearful dog.

how long can you leave the ace bandage on.
When the bandage is properly fit to your dog, he should be very comfortable. If your dog will be wearing the bandage for more than one hour at a time, we recommend removing the bandage every 30-60 minutes during the initial trial periods to check for any signs of irritation points. That should help guide the fit as well as the help you determine the length of time your dog can comfortably wear the bandage. We also recommend checking for any visible signs of discomfort from the bandage and adjust accordingly.
