  • Have a dog that's terrified of fireworks or thunderstorms? A Thundershirt can do wonders for calming down an anxious dog.
Can't afford an official Thundershirt? Don't worry - you can make your own at home!
See our full step-by-step guide here: www.k9ofmine.c...
Best of all, a homemade DIY Thundershirt lets you create a perfectly snug fit for your dog. Since the dog anxiety wrap's power comes from creating a fairly tight, snug fit against your dog, being able to create a wrap with custom sizing will ensure your makeshift Thundershirt works perfectly.
Don't let 4th of July fireworks terrify your pooch - make your own anxiety wrap to keep your dog calm and safe!

Thank you! I shall have a go at making one of these for my new (to me) foster respite care of an adopted Greyhound. I already have an official Thundershirt, but it is too large for this fine boned boy.

Hi I just found your channel/video! I love this video! I like your calm voice and the way you explained and showed every step visually was very easy to understand! I hope to try and make one for an older dog (I didn’t train him with fireworks like I did with our other dogs:pups) I just liked and subscribed to you! Introvert mom of 4 sons (2 autistic) loving the RUclips community learning from others (using dog therapy music to help pups/humans) God Bless!

Shouldn't the fabric be something a little more solid? Jersey fabric seems a little too flimsy...

About how much knit fabric did you use? 1 yard or less maybe?

I believe I bought 2.5 yards of fabric for this but definitely had a lot of extra to repurpose for other projects. What you can always do depending on the pattern and if you don't mind the look, is to sew two shorter pieces of fabric together before starting. You'll have a seam, but this way you buy much less fabric and get similar results! Good luck!
