I appreciate you dealing with this - many in the handicap community have extra challenges and it can be hard. The more people see a successful, loving, creative and strong relationship where the disability is secondary.

@@saruhhhh Although I do kind of agree about people who are so rude to disabled people and cynical about their relationships, I don't think having a partner is proof of being better or nicer either. Plenty of people are single just because they haven't met the right person yet, or because of reasons that don't mean anything particularly bad about them, and plenty of quite unpleasant people do somehow end up in relationships. I know that's not really what you were saying, but I hear that idea often enough I wanted to mention it.

My husband and me are together for 8 years, got married in September, have a 34 years difference in age, are from two different countries (I left my home-country to be with him 5 years ago), he is chronically ill and disabled and I am his carer, so you can imagine we also had our fair share of rather rude comments, sadly especially from family members... Thank you for showing that love is about the soul, the smile, sense of humor, having things in common, sharing interests, sharing experiences, having essential things in common etc. and not about anything superficial. I feel sad for the people who think relationships are only based on looks and money, both can disappear in a blink of an eye... True love is is something else and I hope they get to experience it.

I can relate to Hannah skipping a grade. I was held back a couple grades in elementary school due to missing a good chunk of the year due to surgeries, it wasn't too bad until I was in college my freshman year when I had the bright idea of telling a couple people I was 21. Being a 21 year old freshman in a dry dorm (no alcohol) got me real popular real quick for obvious reasons. You guys are awesome and I hope we get a chance to meet sometime!

I hope the person who asked the question about Hannah taking another lover realizes where that question probaby came from (other than from a 1940s movie? haha). Aside from the overt ableism, the questioner probaby has a lot of unhelpful internal messages about worthiness and maybe even some abandonment fears/attachment trauma. It's so inspiring that Shane and Hannah have such a strong, intimate relationship that they're able to weather insensitive questions like that. Not everyone living with a disability has a strong family support system, and, it's possibe that the questioner does not have a great support system either. Thank you so much, Hannah and Shane, for helping to educate people so that maybe that person will think twice before asking another question like that, because if they asked it of people who were less self-aware, badass, and compassionate than you two are, it could do a lot more harm. Sending hugs to the person who asked that question. You are enough, and you deserve love. And hugs and gratitude to Shane and Hannah--you two are going to make such amazing parents.

My precious little boy (age 26😅) is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota. Whenever we visit from Texas, we keep our eyes out for you. My husband is glad we haven’t run into you, because my daughter (age 22) and I (age 49) would probably embarrass ourselves with our fangirl screams of excitement. 😂 My daughter and I found out we were both watching your channel when she was home from college last summer. She walked into the bedroom where I was watching Monday Grub Bag. Feeling extremely protective of y’all (because I’m old enough to be your mom) I was about to explain your situation before my daughter said anything that could be in any way negative. I've never really been exposed to the disability community so I'm not educated on what to say or what to not say. The "lover" question is a prime example of what most people would consider to be uncalled for. If asked of me I would have answered "Nunya". Seems to be a fair amount of shallow folks who can not imagine, two people being capable of loving each other, and living a normal life, ("normal to them", unusual to others) Such a pity, people can't just be happy for Shane and Hannah.

Ok first comment I've made on RUclips but instead of a reality show i would be interested in possibly a documentary series. ( maybe a few episodes) with interabled couples exploring their lives and answering important questions as to how their relationships function. Those kinds of questions truly are only a reflection of the person asking it! You don’t know what you don’t know and clearly they have never experienced true love. They also have no understanding of what human value is. It’s not physical features, (skin color hair color eye color height weight) physical ability, earning potential etc etc etc. So rude? For sure. At least with TLC or MTV (does MTV still do reality shows 😂)! Unsure of the ethics and boundaries with other companies and IF it could work. But, agree, the majority of reality tv couples/families has had negative endings :/

Thank you for opening even my eyes to what a disabled person goes through and misconceptions I may even have had to the struggles a handicap person can go through. I can relate to Hannah skipping a grade. I was held back a couple grades in elementary school due to missing a good chunk of the year due to surgeries, it wasn't too bad until I was in college my freshman year when I had the bright idea of telling a couple people I was 21. Being a 21 year old freshman in a dry dorm (no alcohol) got me real popular real quick for obvious reasons. You guys are awesome and I hope we get a chance to meet sometime!
I just want to say, I love the two of you together. The love and the fun you have together, its real. I cant figure out why people would say otherwise. I can feel its genuine. I hope the person who asked the question about Hannah taking another lover realizes where that question probaby came from (other than from a 1940s movie? haha). Aside from the overt ableism, the questioner probaby has a lot of unhelpful internal messages about worthiness and maybe even some abandonment fears/attachment trauma. It's so inspiring that Shane and Hannah have such a strong, intimate relationship that they're able to weather insensitive questions like that. Not everyone living with a disability has a strong family support system, and, it's possibe that the questioner does not have a great support system either. Thank you so much, Hannah and Shane, for helping to educate people so that maybe that person will think twice before asking another question like that, because if they asked it of people who were less self-aware, badass, and compassionate than you two are, it could do a lot more harm. Sending hugs to the person who asked that question. You are enough, and you deserve love. And hugs and gratitude to Shane and Hannah--you two are going to make such amazing parents.

My precious little boy (age 26😅) is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota. Whenever we visit from Texas, we keep our eyes out for you. My husband is glad we haven’t run into you, because my daughter (age 22) and I (age 49) would probably embarrass ourselves with our fangirl screams of excitement. 😂
My daughter and I found out we were both watching your channel when she was home from college last summer. She walked into the bedroom where I was watching Monday Grub Bag. Feeling extremely protective of y’all (because I’m old enough to be your mom) I was about to explain your situation before my daughter said anything that could be in any way negative. The "lover" question is a prime example of what most people would consider to be uncalled for. If asked of me I would have answered "Nunya". Seems to be a fair amount of shallow folks who can not imagine, two people being capable of loving each other, and living a normal life, ("normal to them", unusual to others) Such a pity, people can't just be happy for Shane and Hannah.

Those kinds of questions truly are only a reflection of the person asking it! You don’t know what you don’t know and clearly they have never experienced true love. They also have no understanding of what human value is. It’s not physical features, (skin color hair color eye color height weight) physical ability, earning potential etc etc etc. So rude? For sure. But feel sorry for them that they have such a shallow understanding of life and the things that make it so meaningful and fulfilling! Love you guys and everything you stand for!
