Wow. This Ted Talk should be in every general Slack channel. Leaders always want to „facilitate a positive culture“. Looking at it from a perspective of creating an „architecture where positive choices are made“ is very eye opening. I truly wish my boss would see this.
This talk inspired me to rethink the nudges I give myself in home office. Very useful for anyone who wants to take responsibility for their own wellbeing and productivity! If you're still reading, I'll share my favorite nudge: On my nightstand, I replaced my phone (not charging it in my bedroom at night, but in the living room) by an ebook reader. I have finally started reading books again! Read 4.5 last year. That's 4.5 more than the year before - Yay!
This is so interesting! Love the story telling to deliver so much content in a engaging manner. No doubts nudging will play a bigger and bigger role in the Learning and Development field.
"Companies are choice architects no matter what, so we might as well just build environments in which people thrive." - a mantra that should be top of every CEO's list. Also maybe something to remember for some of the more critical commenters on here. You can either nudge people into constructive discussion - or just be toxic.
Working for yourself. Start your own business, while working for someone else, and gradually do a transition A lifetime has taught me this simple rule . Working for others, is only on the job training . Interesting.
I love this TED Talk! It is so relevant for organizations today. As an HR professional this made me think that like to or not, unless we are self employed, majority of us work for employers that are architects of our environment. Instead of working in places where the environment nudges us for overworking, being unhappy and burn out, I love how she mentions several real examples that HR, leaders and L&D professionals can start implementing now, instead of wasting thousands in the new e-learning platform that no one will use! If we are wondering how AI will influence HR, (super hot topic, we like it or not) and how to use it in a way that helps humans (instead of speculating how it will replace us) this is a great “nudge” to go research more because helping people to align strengths with challenges and help them thrive will also make companies thrive. For the haters, clearly you have no idea about the topic. And I know I know it is super “hard” to go do a simple research to nourish your brain with the topic and comment useful things. Clearly it is simpler to use your few neurons to make you believe your negativity is needed and that your entitlement gives you the right to ignorantly add comments because you are bored with your life.
We routinely make changes by using tools that help us improve our workplace environment. I would have preferred other than toilet analogies at the beginning and end of the talk.
6:20 you are assuming people are good and willing for well being of the community. Reality is that 50% people is just wiling to be selfish and dont care comunity, and most of it even is willing bad things, stealing and destroying society. Developing what you suggest also put strong weapon in hands of people who want to harm you.
I am sick and tired of TedTalks and talks in general regarding "positivity in the workplace" or any type of "improvement" that gets the people working more and harder... how about you start by increasing wages to an actual liveable amount, then we can talk about workplace improvements and "nudges" in the right direction.
Ever wonder why the general stuff is free and the more valuable and in depth stuff you have to pay for ? Yea it’s better , it’s worth more than just giving it for free!
None of this made sense. She literally is talking about ads as nudges.. grammarly is a nudge. A write up is a nudge . Nudge from the judge.. they just let anybody do a TikTok Ted talk. This is sad. It was like watching a high school student writing an essay about nothing.
Agree, and all I heard was nudge peanus so… Shouldn’t it have been the developer of the theory who does the Ted talk? And shouldn’t there be a limit on the amount of times the same word gets used in a speech? The word nudge has no meaning for me anymore
This speech never even got to the point until it was almost 8 minutes in! Then she mentioned AI and I was done, sorry, but you aren’t going to sell me on something that will eventually turn us all into robots.
Annalist huh, yea being a spectator allows us to critique but it’s been considered. Main speaking points to elaborate on help though, the whole thing can be labels “boring” that’s how knowlege works. grab a water and a snack and let’s dive into a subject

Agree 100%
Super interesting, especially for people who work in HR and L&D. Really cool idea!!!
Exactly, this is undoubtedly the future of L&D!

Communication skills, body languages are awesome.
We can create environments which helps better behaviours
Great talk, I wish my boss saw it :)
It’s extremely helpful to be aware of nudging and what it can do for the better of all of us
Absolutely inspiring talk!! A powerful way on how we all can contribute to a better work environment! Thanks for sharing these valuable insights 🙏🏻
Amazing talk, very well structured, insightful and relatable.
I wish our CEO would also watch this!
This is so interesting! We definitely do things unconsciously because of environment around us, imagine what we could achieve with the right one!
This is so interesting! Love the story telling to deliver so much content in a engaging manner. No doubts nudging will play a bigger and bigger role in the Learning and Development field.
Loved this, simple yet such an interesting topic! So important to be aware that nudges are literally everywhere.. great talk!

Extremely interesting talk from beginning to end, perfectly structured with excellent communication skills!

You ate a can of peanuts and didn’t realize it until it was done?? Sorry, gotta call BS on that.
🤣🤣🤣
Cuidado con Tania Rincon ya elimino a dos hombres Juan Somoza y a hora a Ricardo Alcala
How about this for a TedTalk? - Get married, stay home, and manage your kids, about four or five. Oh, right, not very popular these days.
Nothing wrong with that!!! Staying at home taking care of house and kids IS a job and a freakin hard one at it.
in her case this wouldve been the right choice (if she found a husband putting up with her annoying blathering)
I mean that’s cool n all but kinda basic.
Either, im reading your sarcasm wrong, or, this is really sexist.
What’s up?

It makes sense to me. There's a Wikipedia article about "nudge theory" where you can learn more.
Exactly. This video is a "nudge" to learn more. Relying on a 15 minute talk to tell you all about the Nudge Theory is just plain laziness
All I got from it was that her brain was way overwhelm and she could not make a sentence that makes sense
I’m glad this was the top comment so I don’t have to waste my time to watch this video 😭

bunch of lipsmacking and trivialities 😂

@eliasf2021: Your comment does not make any sense to me.
