Thank you Chris Broussard for saying that loud and clear. We need the post game back in the NBA. We need dominant big men in the post. Like a Shaq, Demarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard, etc. Having big men in the game helps the game it doesn't hurt it.

The NBA is the #1 basketball league in the world. Hence, it’s NBA champion would defeat any other champion in any other league in the world. For goodness sakes, we have our JV squad playing in this FIBA tournament 🤦🏻♂️
This take from Nick shows exactly what Noah was saying. Man City can beat any nation in the world. But unfortunately, Man City is a domestic club not a national team. To compare Denver Nuggets with countries shows how shallow Nick's opinions can be at times.
Not the same . Man City doesn’t win 90% of champions league’s dominantly . Other clubs in other countries like Bayern , Real Madrid , juventus, ac Milan , Barcelona , pay have big names and attract the best talent just like the premier league at bear equal skill lvl if a bit less popular. However in basketball all the best global players go to nba not anywhere else . Different countries players skk have end goal of nba
Nick doesn't realise that putting the best 5 number one options on NBA teams in the same team doesn't automatically work. Guys roles will have to change and not many will easily adjust to having fewer touches or minutes. Ingram is struggling currently while role players like Josh Hart are thriving.
That's what I tell people if u send just stars who the bleep is taking a back seat I know curry can do it but who els will probably nobody and I don't think Bron wants to do the Olympics anymore
I don't get what's hard to understand about the NBA not being the world championship. Europe has BY FAR the best soccer teams. And yet, when you win the Champion's league you're not declared world champ. And then the winning club goes to play the world championship, they usually play the substitutes, and they usually still win. It doesn't matter that you're better, you still have to win the games.
Excellent point. And this is exactly the point that Chris was trying to make. Sure the NBA will still win 80-90% of the time but every now and then they will lose one to Real Madrid or someone from Turkey, just like when Chelsea lost the CWC.
yes they need a club world cup for basketball for the teams. as the rest of the world never took basketball that serious the olympics was always America's to lose, more countries play basketball now
🔖This is just American arrogance. The champion of the Premier League doesn't call themselves the World Champions, they call themselves the English Champions. The winner of the European Champions League doesn't call themselves World Champions, they call themselves European Champions.
When the San Antonio Spurs went to the finals back to back in 13 and 14, they had 10 players born outside of the United States, including its big Three Tim Duncan (St. Thomas), Manu Ginobili (Argentina) and Tony Parker (France)
Y’all don’t realize that y’all’s argument that NBA teams that have players outside the US literally proves the point that the best of the best are playing in the NBA, can you get 15 nonNBA players to beat the champions each year??? I mean think about it lol
As an American with family in Europe who consistently watches the Euroleague I can tell you Brou does have a point. Obviously the NBA champs would still beat the best teams there, but if you play under FIBA rules on neutral grounds with their fans in attendance, they wouldn't get steamrolled.
@@Mariii2xx Firstly, those guys don't play on the same team. It would have to be an actual NBA team, the NBA champs, for example the Nuggets. Secondly, even if we use your example, the US sent most of its very best players to the Olympics 2 years ago, and they didn't steamroll any of the good teams.
You’re missing the point… every countries best players all play in the NBA, the nba is a global brand. If you aren’t good enough to play in the nba, you play professionally elsewhere. The MAIN reason for this, is the nba pays more than any other professional basketball team. Zero reason from the top global players to not play for the NBA.
@@ryedye335 I didn't even argue that point, I was just arguing the point Brou made about the best team in the NBA competing with the best team in Europe in neutral circumstances under FIBA rules wouldn't end in a whitewash like most think. I agree with everything you say.
The thing I've noticed about this Fiba cup, is that it is way more physical than the NBA, they call travel, and the phasing of these games are just way faster. Ball movement is also excellent. But with their style of play, they don't really feauture just one player alone so the marketing of stars is not going to be what we are used to with the NBA.
That's why the NBA would never adopt FIBA rules. It doesn't favour superstardom, but does favour team play. Which is horrible for business if you're living off sponsors and investors.
5:55... EXACTLY! Finally someone said it. You can post up AND shoot 3s, they literally go hand in hand. Imagine if a Shaq type player got the ball by the base line and when help defense comes, he kicks it out. Almost like what Jokic does except he starts from the elbow.

@@randygram9310 1 there's a reason that other countries best players come to the NBA to play. 2nd they're arguing that the NBA Champs isn't the world Champs so to test that theory you would need to put the NBA Champs against champions of other leagues not national teams. Which any time the US send the BEST players they ALWAYS win. This national team is like c level players they are NOT the best and they only lost by 6. What you think will happen if it was A level players playing for team USA.
There is a matchup between international club teams called *FIBA Intercontinental Cup* (look it up on wikipedia) However I doubt NBA owners and the league would sign on to this. Their players and their insurance money.................................................. I don't know, but definitely would be an idea, however both NBA & FIBA have slightly different courts and rules, would they be able to agree? Also how to split the revenues? Currently not even EuroLeague take part in this, only second best European teams and also *NBA G League teams* . This is due to FIBA and EuroLeague and their unresolved dispute.... Recently they have started to include teams from Africa and Asia. "The champions of the Basketball Africa League (since 2022) and the FIBA Asia Champions Cup (since 2023) also receive a place in the tournament. FIBA has in the past announced plans to expand the tournament to possibly include the champion teams from the Australian National Basketball League (NBL), and possibly the NBA, at some point in the future."
I mean, I know one thing. Lithuania shooting 52% from the field and 56% from three has nothing to do with modern NBA players not being able to play defense. Obviously, Lithuania was running some SUPER complex offensive schemes with SUPER skilled and elite shooters that the US's all-time great defense just didn't work.

Bro it proves what most people already knew, teams over seas play a more fundamental form of basketball. Its not about being flashy or doing dunks. This is how the NBA should have been, coordinated like how fifa is.
Brou is absolutely right! Thank God someone like him is talking about it! In addition, Lithuania did not have their best team either, it is JV + a few Euroleague players and the rest of the squad are playing in lower leagues. So it is wild to say that LTU beat 3rd US team. Come on :)
@@KoolKeithProductionsThat person you replied to may not even have English as their first language and they still know it better than you. They acknowledged the US didn’t have their “best team,” they were just saying LTU didn’t either.
What Brou is saying is if the NBA and it’s fans want to act like the best then our national team needs to continue to dominate to prove that regardless of the NBA having international players
brou was saying that decades ago, the third string players that played for team USA were able to outplay the rest of the world. he rightly points out that that's not the case today. wright's comment about the nuggets is stupid. the best USA players from around the nba could be playing right now but chose not to. they CHOSE to lose by default.
Why do you Americans have to cheat by bringing in NBA PLAYERS WHEREAS NO OTHER COUNTRY IS EVEN PLAYING WITH PED LACED PLAYERS LIKE LEBUM JAMES? Use ORDINARY American players and they'll get SPANKED BY OTHER COUNTRIES.
And I think he's missing the point. Saying that the NBA champions are world champions is not the same as saying that the US are world champions. It's just saying that the NBA is an international league featuring the best in the world, so winning team is the best team in the world.
@@samuelwallace2782 and it's wrong. The NBA champs can't be best in the world until they beat the best team from Europe. GSW were by far the better team in the NBA, but they didn't become champs. Phoenix in 22, 23, Heat in 11 and 14, and so on. Having the best players doesn't automatically make your team better as a while. It's been said many times - basketball is a team sport, and you don't win rings by just having best 2-3 players. Teamwork, chemistry and strategy are just as, if not more l, important to the team success. Lithuania just showed you guys that a very limited roster can win with good strategy and use of their advantages. Yes, it got close and the US team will probably win next time, but if you asked before the game which squad will win 99% would probably choose the US. So until the NBA champs beat a European champ they can't be considered world champs. It would be great to have an intercontinental cup, like in soccer, where different approaches could clash and everyone could benefit from it.
Finally someone got it right. Yes USA have better individual players, but more often than not they don't play a team sport and lack in strategy. They don't have their best players, but they also have a population of 300 mil, while countries like Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Serbia have less than 10 mil. This isn't the first time USA lost an international game and it's happening a lot more often lately

One thing is NBA and another thing is FIBA world cup. US will always be the favorite one but the other national teams are improving and investing in basketball too. The distance will be shorter in the future.
I just wish we actually tried in international competitions and the American players actually wanted to go and work together to create an all star team.
If you think the NBA is not best in the world. Put the Champs of each league around the world into a tournament against one another and let's see which team from which league would win. Stop conflating league team with national team.
Brou is conflating being the best international team in the world with being the best club team in the world. Those are two different concepts and he’s mixing them together. the term "world champions" should be reserved for the world cup. Manchester City is not calling themselves "world champions" after winning the UEFA Championsleague.

Does the winner of the Indian Premier League (arguably the biggest team-based competition for Cricket, the second largest sport in the world) call themselves “World Champions”? No, the winner of the World Cup does. Only in the U.S.A is the World Champion decided by which team won their league that year. This year’s Nuggets team probably would roll through the World Cup tournament, but their best player is currently playing for Serbia, so they probably wouldn’t even get out of the group stage. It is a world sport now, so to say that the U.S.A is automatically the best team because the NBA is American, is just ignorant and naive

To be a WORLD CHAMPION you have to win FIBA World cup. It does not matter if NBA is the strongest league in the world. No club sport can claim they have champions of the world. You have to represent your country or yourself, and not a club, to be a World champion. That is a difference between a league and a championship.

Who gave these so called 'anlysts' a 'job'? 'Loud mouths empty brain...' That being said we all know that in order for Lithuania to win this game they had to play a perfect match and all the stars had to be aligned at the same time. It's unlikely Lithuania is gonna manage to repeat it again any time soon, but that is exactly the reason why everyone is hyped and celebrating at the moment in Lithuania after 7 years without wining any medals at internatiinal level. 2008 Redeem Team beat Australia by 21, beat Argentina by 20, and beat Spain by 11. They may not have toyed with opponents to the level DT 1&2 did, but a 17.3 ppg margin of victory is't terrible.
Spain was in the game till last 2 minutes, you obviously didn't watch that game. Wade and Kobe hit some clutch shots to secure that win. Also 2 years earlier, that same team (minus Kobe) lost to Greece in Semi Final of World Cup. So no, neither American team came close to original Dream Team. And if you today send best players, A team, they would still have problems against teams like Spain, Greece, Serbia, Slovenia or Canada.
I watched every game. I said that Dream Team 1 and 2 toyed with their opponents, which by comparison, is different from how the Redeem Team fared in 2008. But I also felt that winning by an average of 17.3 ppg isn’t terrible. I did not comment on how the game played put down the stretch. I was focusing on the overall numbers.
The Americans also put their teams together last minute. The other teams for the most part have guys who play together a lot more, not saying they don’t also have their struggles or challenges but the US needs to rethink how and for how long before tournaments they put their teams together.
You're right but unfortunately the US won't ever be like the other countries. 1.The US care less about these non Olympic events . 2.

@@samuelwallace2782 exactly well said
@@samuelwallace2782 and it's wrong. I think Nick believes putting the most talented players on a team guarantees winning that is where I think he is clearly wrong. Since we have already proven when we had the most talent and still lost.
That was an all-timer from Brou lmao 🔥🔥
2008 Redeem Team beat Australia by 21, beat Argentina by 20, and beat Spain by 11.
They may not have toyed with opponents to the level DT 1&2 did, but a 17.3 ppg margin of victory is't terrible.
15 years ago, bro... that's hardly representative for today...
This is the best show in sports now.
2. Other countries only have only so many players that can make their squad so those same players are always on the team so they get continuity/chemistry 3. American players are rich & famous so they are less likely to commit yr to yr
lithuania fully collected only in august, a lot of best players isnt even here. its like a B team for us too
I agree with Brou!
Nick and the NBA players want to become World Champions by assumption. You don’t become Worl Champions by “what if we send our best players”. You become a champion bu actually COMPETING!
Chris is killing em Dude needs his own show for real
The other countries’ core players play together for YEARS. I’m not bothered that we only win 90% of the basketball tournaments with a new group thrown together
I’m not saying that you’re right or wrong but are we sure that these other countries core players played years and years together? I mean nowadays a lot of these “core players” are actually playing in the NBA so im not sure if your statement is still a valid point in 2023
Nick: *start talking* “wait stop wait”
Brou & Wilds: 👀
Non significant loss, because, again, USA can reach semi-finals and Finals.
It’s not even top Lithuania squad. No sabonis grigonis lekavicius butkevicius, if you take from USA pool 300mil same as from all Europe union, and you have no chance Lula freak nikola bogdanovic embiid as 4
Thank you Chris Broussard.
Chris was right. Its a battle of every countries in the World. The NBA is a LEAGUE and the teams are the CITIES of USA..Not COUNTRY. That's a Basic Common Sense.
Teams can be world champs too, if they play world format not that easy country teams get to chance to participate
They don't get it, that you need a good TEAM to win and not a bunch of great players.
Finally someone that gets it.. you can’t win without having great chemistry in team.. putting a bunch of elite players to play together doesn’t necessarily make them a good team- they all will probably have different playing styles and mindsets-and also a lot of pride.
I am very often stunned at how dumb some of things they say are. Why does it matter how would Denver Nuggets play against Lithuania? Denver is a club and Lithuania is a national team. NBA champion isn't the World champion because they don't play against any other club outside of NBA. They could be World champions if they played against other clubs who won their continental club championships.
I don't understand where does this confusion about club and national team sport comes from? I guess because US clubs don't really play against clubs from other countries, except Canada...
