I was thinking about this series watching your last video - glad it's back. Baked beans sounds like a good one - can I also suggest you taste test a bargain basement cheap whole chick vs an organic free-range variety? Every time I see Jamie Oliver discuss chicken, he always bangs on about the different in quality and I think it might be a real eye-opener to taste test a two identically roasted chickens and see what the flavour difference is like - especially tasting the different between hot meat, cold meat the day after and, say chicken soup or something afterwards.

Lasagne would be a good cheap v steep, you could go all out on the meat, make fresh pasta, the whole shabang.
I second this, great suggestion!

fresh pasta for lasagna means it's going to be very very overcooked and completely mushy

i love a crust slice only toasted though not as a sandwich but a toasted crust with peanut butter is god tier
An expensive cheddar would be more of a fair test, smoked cheddar is completely different.
They did the same thing with the Mac & Cheese episode. I'm pretty sure the smoky cheese was why Barry liked the cheap one better.
Yup - my thoughts too - it's not like you can't buy really expensive 'normal' cheddar - my local cheese show sells one for £3 / 100g - that's about 3-5x the price of supermarket cheddar.

I also agree. It isn’t fair when you are comparing.
Yes, totally different flavours, both should’ve been smoked or unsmoked for a better comparison.
