I was thinking about this series watching your last video - glad it's back. Baked beans sounds like a good one - can I also suggest you taste test a bargain basement cheap whole chick vs an organic free-range variety? Every time I see Jamie Oliver discuss chicken, he always bangs on about the different in quality and I think it might be a real eye-opener to taste test a two identically roasted chickens and see what the flavour difference is like - especially tasting the different between hot meat, cold meat the day after and, say chicken soup or something afterwards.

Being an ex-supermarket employee the 'basic' or 'everyday essentials' the supermarkets use a lot of factory rejects or in the case of tomato sauce based tined products the sauce is watered down slightly and as you probably noticed there is less beans.
Try an experiment, buy 1 can of the normal (with sugar and salt) Heinz Beans and 1 can of cheap beans. The drain off the 'sauce' and weigh how much actual beans you get and I bet you, you will get approx 25% less beans in the cheap. Also weigh/measure the 'sauce' and I bet you there will be more ml's in the cheap then the Heinz.

You can also make Semmelknödel (bread dumplings) from it. Or roast it with some onions and put it as a "core" in potato dumplings. Works better with brown breads, but it's just so good.
Or roast them with oil and fresh herbs for croutons.

To be fair it's only easing up in the UK because the government need to distract from how much they've screwed up by throwing people shinies. In the US they just don't bother covering it up.

American here too. I've never heard of 'toast tongs' except as a reference to serving tongs for a fancy tea party. If the toast gets stuck in the toaster, try pushing up on the lever to raise it. Or there's the tried and true 'fish it out with a knife or fork' bit.

Smoked cheese vs unsmoked cheese isn't really a fair test. Laughing at Barry saying the toast looks the same when it absolutely doesn't.
