I'm always amazed at the differences between the UK and America. You guys buy baking soda in a little pouch where as we buy it either in a box which we stick in the fridge to keep it smelling nice or in a different shaped container for recipes. Either way I've never seen it in a pouch!
For your taste the world playlist could you try doing pierogies? They're amazing when home-made and the kids can help too! Our families secret is boiling them to cook them and then immediately frying them with onions and butter. My mom uses influences from Ukrainian grandma's here in Pittsburgh and fills ours with sweet ricotta, but you have to be sure to drain the ricotta out. Its a lengthy process to make them but they're amazing.
