    These questions are fine. They do rely upon the subject to be conscious of what they would do and and why though. I like to go beyond this and use laddering and the person centered approach to get deeper into values behind attributes though. People often do not why they do what they do.

    Super helpful. I am taking a class that did not dive deep into how to what questions to ask and I felt a bit lost. Now I feel a bit more confident with coming up with my own interview questions.

    Hi Sarah thank you so much for this video it really helped me revised my questions. The thing I’m struggling with most at the moment is ensuring the internee that I’m coding user research and am not a journalist trying to make their company look bad.

    Hi Sarah! Thanks for this video🙏🏻 Question: when we ask customers about whether they would like to use this product don’t we ask them to predict their behavior which we (people) are very bad at?

    • @SarahDoody
      @SarahDoody  4 года назад +1

      Yes people are bad at predicting their behavior ... that's why I would ask a question like that at the very end of the interview. Prior to that question, I would take them through tasks etc to see their response. Sometimes people blurt out "I would totally use this" but if not, I sometimes ask it at the end.

    Not sure if anyone can answer this here. I am planning to redesign a website that I recently came across. The site is related to purchasing Music instruments from the shop. While trying to shop from the site using my mobile, I actually got frustrated and gave up the thought of purchasing the instrument. In fact, it made me angry as well. Now I don't know the owners to persuade them to redesign the website and provide a very easy and friendly experience to the user. However, I have still decided to redesign the website and provide a solution that will benefit the users and the owners both. I have no interest in earning money from this project but I definitely want to earn experience and create a value.
    The point is this is not a corporate stuff. So how do I go about it? I will be working solo on this as the UX and UI designer. But I want to run through the entire process of user researching as well and would like to understand how to execute it and what will be my steps after that. How will I connect with users in this scenario?

      I will show them a competitor product and see what they think about that. It still gives us insight as to what we should do or not do with our own product.
