    I got hooked up the moment you spoke the first words about UX interviews. As an aspiring designer, I think you have gone into depth revealing very crucial information to collect when preparing for interviews. I really appreciate the effort you spent organizing details for interviews and editing your videos. I'll always come back for more even after following you on LinkedIn.

    Thank you for this very informative video and sharing your experiences! I just had my virtual on-site interview with Google and waiting to hear back. I was matched with a team after my virtual technical interview, and it took about a month. It about a month and a half to get my on-site scheduled because of the holidays. My next step is to talk to the hiring manager if I get a yes from the hiring committee 🤞🏾

    Thank you so much for these awesome summaries Aona姐姐!
    Around this job interview topic, I am also curious to learn: how would you prepare for interviews and what you would bring to the interviews (onsite v.s. virtual)?
    And I wonder if, in the future, you could share with us some of your work reflection routines: how do you spend the time to reflect on your problem-solutioning approaches at work?
    Many thanks again for making these great videos! Looking forward to seeing the series~

      Daily arguments with the husband helped :P
      JK. But thank you for saying that!! I’m always self conscious of my English and I def make lots of mistakes still (RUclips vids are edited!! I edit out the bad parts haha) but surround yourself with good learning materials (ie hard, but not too hard) that stimulate all senses (hearing, speaking, seeing/reading etc) help! Eg listening to lots of podcast of on a variety of topics :))

    • @AonaTalks
      @AonaTalks  4 года назад

      For UXRs - yes. And I do have a Master’s degree when I contracted for it. The hiring bar has been incredibly high for full time UXR positions now. Check out this video I made a couple months ago. Maybe it’ll answer your question: m.ruclips.net/video/e8qnWHWZ-aM/видео.html

    look for 1st job in US, had some interviews but failed mostly at first round specifically phone screen (zoom interview probably ok), few 2nd round failing experiences, so far i prepared based on glassdoor, created mock-up questions from job description, what else could you suggest to do, feel very exhausted to job seeking process.....

    • @AonaTalks
      @AonaTalks  3 года назад +1

      Are you looking for a UXR job? Without knowing any detail I can’t really give any detailed advice besides - 1) did your past experience aligns with what the job is requiring? 2) have you talked to people in the industry and let them evaluate your resume/interview skills? 3) it might not be you - its just a competitive job market so just keep on trying and learn from your mistakes. Finding the first job is always the toughest...😔

      @@AonaTalks no, looked for marketing and advertising job, i had advertising entrepreneurship in other country, and relocated to US for an account manager role in the industry, my resume is ok, can have 1-3 interviews out of 10 resume submissions, but i have accent during interview and friend who did mock-up interviews told me i talked like rehearsal. anyways, just checked some of your Chinese videos including storytelling skills and behavioral questions, pretty informative! thanks!

    • @AonaTalks
      @AonaTalks  3 года назад +2

      Thank you for saying that - sorry to hear about your experience. Communication skill is quite important but as long as you try to talk to yourself and others (train your storytelling) frequently, it will be better! My speaking wasn’t at the place it is today 6 or 7 years ago. :P also, having an accent is ok - it’s totally fine!! Don’t feel discouraged by that! Fluency and accent are 2 separate things. You can still speak fluently even with an accent.

    Hey Aona, any tips on preparing for a round with the hiring manager after uxr has completed all the rounds say phone, technical screen and 4 rounds.

    • @AonaTalks
      @AonaTalks  4 года назад

      What is the goal for the round? Is it more about cultural fit assessment or more technical? (Asking this because you can, and should always inquire your interviewers what the goal is for each round and what skills they will assess.) From there it will be easier for me to answer how to prepare for it.
