I am having trouble finding the right words to describe this short film except to say that it touches on an emotional level, it is beautiful, it is clever, and I love it.
When my fiancé died in March 1996 I never even wanted to meet someone else. This film summed up all the feelings I had at the time and the years since, and I had been realising what a waste of my life that was. I miss Pat a lot, think of her every day, but if only I could have moved on, I wouldn't be 73 and alone. This was a truly optimistic, human and lovely film. I LOVED IT, and the actors were great characters, the man who sang was there, almost as if waiting his whole life, to sing that song. Thank you so much.
@@arithesillygoober I always get up early, you likely lie in! That would account for the difference in the age. Start getting up really early, take up tough sports, like mountaineering, cycle-racing and competition wind-surfing. If you survive, you will soon be as old as me. 😄😆🤪😜🤪😜
My mom passed away 11 years ago. We've encouraged dad to meet someone but until now he fondly talks about her as if she'd just stepped out to run errands. We celebrate her birthdays and their anniversaries. My dad is 72. When my mother's mother became a widow at 27, she chose to never remarry because having the memory of him was enough and she wanted no one else. She passed away at 93. If I fall in love, I like to think I will be this way too.
@@NghtMonster My wife died in 1996, at the age of 36. I have met no one who is even on the same planet as her. I have many women as friends, 3 have asked me to marry them. BUT, the answer is no, every time. Perfection cannot be achieved multiple times. Alone is not lonely. I think of her every day, and am finally at the stage where I am getting an enlargement done, of her, to display on the wall.
@@Demun1649I'm not a believer but i will pray for you good sir. I hear longing and emptiness and i wish you'll be blessed with all good things to look forward to.. love conquers all that's true.. i am 35, been single for 7. What an absolutely sweet film ! 🎥 . How many of us in the world today can truly relate to the sentiment contained within ? I’m so glad that Scott and Heather found each other . And Scott’s parrot is just so very cool ! Some species live up to 150 - 160 years , that’s multiple care takers for them . I’ve often wondered what they think when we are no longer in their lives . Take care everyone .
I so much enjoyed this little film. I was struggling with a crossword puzzle yesterday. It wasn't terribly clever and some of the clues were really bad. It was very frustrating! But a clever crossword is a thing of beauty and sheer delight. Thank you for sharing this charming, short but meaningful film!
What a great idea! Strong plot, genial touches here and there, a master direction and acting... Gifting touching emotions to the viewers, and making them think... What can you ask more to a short? 5 stars out of 5
Nothing is more bizarre or romantic than irish film. I think it's because we try to turn everything into poetry. Cee, from the little haunted cottage in ireland 💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀
I wasted my entire life. At 63, I'm starting over. I'm alone in this world, really alone. I've lived in Hollywood California my entire life. 'Hollywood', ate me up and left me on the side of the road to die. Both my parents passed this year and there is nothing keeping me here. My dream is to move to Ireland and live whatever time I have left there by the sea. The sea is where I go to find myself, my balance. The sea is where I go to forget. I talk to God there.
@johndaker9489 Lonely in Hollywood. What's new, if we are to go by the lives of its most famous denizens - the actors. At 65 I have exactly three people in the world now, after my parents and brother are gone. But I'm very lonely for the departed and the living are inaccessible to me, for the most part. We just have to do our best and try to enjoy and help one another whenever we can, with or without anyone else.
This short film made me think of the movie "Stranger Than Fiction" with its tone, tempo, and love story between two ordinary people. The "universe" sparks the guy to act initially and then he finds a way into the girl's heart. Really nice story.
Excellent - very clever indeed. I loved the subtle touch when Heather and Scott were on the sofa at the end and there was a throw over behind them with squares. . reminiscent of a crossword grid. As others have pointed out, the strong mantra 'once is a coincidence, twice is part of a plan'' worked perfectly in this scenario.
How many others out there found an answer Here🧐 The love of my life who said goodbye 15 months ago😢 sent me ~Home Is Where The Heart Is~ by Elvis back when things were swell 💚 Perhaps I could write for Valentine's Day💟 wish me luck🤞🏽
As being a film, it was supposed to be prefect and it is! Life can't be ever like this. life isn't planned. neither coincidence mean anything. Made my hands to type this all with the base of my experiences. The thing shown in the film was really so calm and straight forwardly. Life isn't really that perfect. So yeah, at the end of the day, *it's night!*
What a sweet movie. The weird thing is yesterday I had a similar experience. I was playing word games on my phone & every word was relevant to my life. My ex hb used to brag that that I did the NY times crossword in pen. That was in the days when people read newspapers!
@bharatiya804 It is a small homage to Amelie. With the precise male voiceover, the focus on time (the bar in Amelie had a ticking clock), a female protagonist who repeats slightly odd behaviours, and is alone. Probably more links as well 😊
Really sweet, but as both a crossword setter and a proofreader, I'll say (a) for the puzzle at 2:33 the prop-maker should have copied a real newspaper crossword more closely, because the grid layout is terrible!, and (b) at 2:52 that should be 'bear' not 'bare'. Sorry about that. Lovely story though 🙂
Came here to say the same. Several other errors as well. Seems that could have been easily avoided if it had been run by a single avid crossword puzzler or editor.
Amalie is just perfection. So glad you saw a comparison. This was a great short. Now, I want to go binge Amalie and all her friends....even the opening to the film is fantastic.
I literally one hour ago just watched another short film about a woman called Heather who works for a type of call centre (helpline) and where the other female character is called Joan (with Sally Hawkins). Lines meet and paths converge.

Great film!
Nice "feel good" film. Thank you.🥰
“Once is coincidence, twice is part of a plan.” What a great line. Amazing film, thank you.
I stopped the film at that point to write down that line.
Yeah ! I agree..Really good a line to remember !

I love that these short films found their way into my feed. Every single one has been so good.
The two introverts fit together to complete the crossword!
Not a word wasted, that was beautiful.

Yeah was sweet, i didn't expect the guy to be communicating with her through crossword puzzle.

Brilliant!! Absolutely loved it!! Gratitude!!!!!
Beautiful film. I especially loved the use of Wild Mountain Thyme woven into the story.
Excellent! Amazing acting, lovely well-crafted story, happy surprise ending. It touched my heart :) Big smile.
Wonderful short film! I really got hooked on that one. Well done! 🥰🥰
Our lives are little Venn diagrams and some of our circles will cross. NITV has done it again. Thank you.
Beautifully and well done - cast & crew. A real smile maker - much enjoyed!
Lovely film, beautifully done.
Hello Niki, how are you doing?
Brilliant! I so look forward to the next prize! Thank you!
Lovely, quiet and magical 🌼
I loved when Heather kissed the drunk in the bar.

Absolutely delightful film! You should be in our Fairhope Film Festival 2024🌺
I needed this.
So glad to find the channel. I’m past horror & Sci-Fi which are often the same
Excellent, absolutely excellent.
Synchronicity is real, it's all around you. It is not a coincidence! Tut and Titanic, Crosswits and kisses. Absolutely
No words ..that was nice short film ...not only to see but to feel with heart...❤❤ ..
Such a beautiful little movie. Thanks. :)

Absolutely loved this film! Thank you for sharing!

😂 A five letter word for female dog. I loved it!
the blood red mountain band needs to market that version of "will ye go lassie, go"
It’s really beautiful ❤
"Each have their own to bare" In America it would be "Each have their own to bear". "Cross" is the answer no matter how you spell bare or bear.
What a sweet movie. The weird thing is yesterday I had a similar experience. I was playing word games on my phone & every word was relevant to my life. My ex hb used to brag that that I did the NY times crossword in pen. That was in the days when people read newspapers!

“Go Lassie Go!” Heather…I’ve Scottish roots…❤😢
messing up bear and bare is a pretty major mistake for a crossword clue.
damn thus was good , i wish i can meet someone like that both of their story describes my lonliness
