Interesting short. The Gleesons are all quite talented. They must have had a lot of fun doing this one. I really liked the business with the turban. Makes me wonder where that came from.
Yip. Eyeliner too - heavily made up (for TV - or trans?). All 3 wore disguises. The suit, the turban & the make-up. A very emotionally manipulative production. Made you more than just the audience. The 2 sons freaked me out. The father took his disguise off just before his demise - like the last act, taking a bow. The son's were unflinchingly cruel & mocking. The mocking undercurrent with the tarot card depicting the mother - matricide & patricide? The abused or the abusers - both. The control with the doled out drink to the father only when the son was having one. Leaving him standing outside in the freezing cold.
Edgy, dramatic short. Made me feel manipulated & uncomfortable - voyeuristic of abusive, cruel & difficult family dynamics. Uncertain of who was the most abusive & controlling of the three. Hints of Matricide & Patricide??? The control of the father with the shared drink only when the son was having one - Pavlov's dog (but learned from the dog?). All of this exposed in a short film. The Gleeson's all very different actors & characters. Fabulous actors. Well written, acted & directed by the family.
.... I cannot believe those who thought that ALL of this in a short film was boring. Uncomfortable, complicated, unnerving, yes, but never boring. The Brothers Grimm... manipulative, abusive, sardonic, controlling & mocking. All at once. The Father, once the alpha dog abuser - evident in his hot-seat TV performance, pathetic, denigrated & controlled afterwards by his 2 sons.
I don't know what you were watching! All wrapped up in this short was child abuse, controlling, abusive relationships with matricide & patricide alluded to. Two psychotic, psychologically manipulative sociopaths who mocked their Mother & her death, controlled & abused their Father who beat them as kids, & their cruel exploitation of vulnerability for money (exploiting & using their mentally ill Father & others). Deception with their scam - learned from their father? Seedy undercurrents.

Nice to watch father and sons act together. I enjoyed this.

Lovely. The non-spoken dialogue between the characters was brilliant.
A stunningly good shoort film. Beautifully acted, so succint; compressing a movie - full of history, emotion and depth - into twenty minutes.
It was awful
These three are pure gold❤❤❤.
I'll watch them in anything I can. Frank of Ireland is ridiculous fun!
A super talented family !!!
I wanted to watch this film sooooo much! Thank you!
I didn't know that the famous young actor was his son amazing! The father is my favorite actor I like everything he is in.
They're both his sons.
@@darrenlyonsThey are brothers
In the last edition of the oscars Brendan Gleeson was robbed of his.
Brilliant actor The Banshees of Inisherin should have won and the Kimmel clowns insult was insulting.
Mad eye and Bill!
Good one!
I'm sure the son in the hot seat was wearing pink eye shadow? 16:06 for example.
Yeah that was weird

I have no idea what this was about !😮
Is he wearing eye pencil or mascara
Both
I wonder how that is to play and act opposite your famous sons.
Brendan Gleason is more known in the film world than his kids....
And for the sons opposite their famous father
❤❤❤❤❤❤
If it wasnt Brendan and the gleeson boys, i dont think this would have got anywhere..a lot of dead space. not riveting imo

Paul Merton has really let himself go lately.
As in the father figure?
@@HookBeak_66 yup , him in the hat
He, he, he.... too true!😅🤣😂
Hard to watch
he reminds me of bill murray
Wtf was that 'thing'...???
It took away 19.16 precious minutes of my life.
how many Gleesons are there?

Dad, mum, and 4 sons. Only dad and 2 sons are in the movies.

Meh. No one wants sighs and chiaroscuro.
It probably doesn't need saying, but it's a lot less weird than a ------ Barbie™ movie.

This was boring. Brian Gleeson is younger than me can’t believe it, he looks 45 not 36 😅
no
Yo this one was kinda boring.
It was thought provoking, but it didn't really take the audience anywhere. I wasn't very entertained by it.
A bit slow, maybe.
I know the script was awful 😂
Pity about the bad language !
