Masni's story taught us that no challenge is bigger than our courage.
Some of us face the challenge of not being where we want to be due to poor communication skills.
But, now we can overcome this challenge with Josh: joshskills.app.link/0viCaEOXDeb

Arpita, I admire you for coming forward and expressing your views. Since you can feel the pain, you must come up with ideas and participate in programs with women's organization to relieve at least some of that pain to the next generations proactively. In this regard, please find below some doable ideas for your and your Government’s review:
      1. Increasing Psychologists in all Hospitals, especially Marriage and Family Therapists. If you carefully observe the criminal patterns involving women issues, criminals are almost always from dysfunctional families. Even those committing suicides come from dysfunctional families.
      2. Increasing visiting Psychologists to all colleges and universities to understand problems of students. Students are more likely to talk to Psychologists than Police.
      3. Train Anganwadi, Asha workers and other women-related NGOs on how to pacify the fighting of husband and wife, fighting families, fighting siblings, fighting neighbors, love-failures, love-triangles, stalking etc. related to women issues.
      4. Police in uniform may teach an hour class on sexual consent vs sexual harassment in all colleges and universities at least. They may also distribute a page pamphlet on the same.
      5. In how many high schools, do they teach about ‘Good Touch’ and ‘Bad Touch’? That must be taught by uniformed police in schools as a special class.
      6. All bus stops and railway stations must also carry posters on what is sexual harassment and how to report the same.
      7. Before start of cinema, a news reel on different types of harassment may also be run for the sake of those dropped out of schools and working odd jobs. These public Ads may run on TV and Radio also.
      8. All Government and Private Employees must be made to sign two or three pages of sexual harassment policy documents.
      9. Indians have come to believe women are a property and not human beings. Women have the right to choose their partner. If they don’t like someone, they too have the right to leave that person just like men. Not all men are rich and paying taxes, therefore women tend to stay back instead of divorcing because if they divorce, they’d be on road homeless. When a woman expresses her intent to divorce, she must be helped proactively by Government with monthly stipend, job skills, shelter, kids’ education etc.
      10. In India, when a man proposes, women must learn to say emphatic NO or give excuses that their marriage is already decided by their parents. Oddly in India, when a lover commits suicide, they charge the person for abetment to suicide. This is totally ridiculous. If anyone writes a love letter saying ‘I will die without you’ then that person must be immediately reported in the nearest police station instead of falling for it. The police must register case against the person for mental-disease and order psychological counselling.
      11. There may be other points the esteemed Politicians, Professors, Activists, judges of High Court and Supreme Court may know of.
Culturally, India following patriarchal hierarchical system where elders always need to be respected, geriatric mental disorders devastate families due to incompetent decisions made by elders(with geriatric mental disorders). Similarly, elderly politicians, elderly celebrities and top bureaucrats with geriatric illnesses (mental/physical) may also devastate a nation’s well-being, thus putting lives at risk like this without striving to improve the mental health of the nation. As soon as someone tells anything scientific for common good involving teamwork, many Indians go through their checklist of discriminatory ideologies subliminally to trust, comprehend and discuss about same. By discriminatory ideologies, I mean religion, caste, race, last-name, tribe, sect, clan, cult, creed, language, region, direction of region(N/S/E/W), last name, pin code, language, skin-color, hair-color, eye-color, gender (women including LGBTQ), media, NGO, business, any Government institution, dress habits, food habits, exercise habits etc. Only when all Intellectuals (of all discriminatory ideologies and all genders) align towards the same ultimate goal of India’s Development ONLY then there will be peace, progress, prosperity and happiness in India.
The Mental health Equation of the entire nation is pretty bad compared to other developed nations. It is astonishing AND ANXIETY PROVOKING KNOWING that
      1. 20% of Indian Population is suffering from some form of mental disorder. That’s roughly 40% of Indian adults or 24 crores of Indian adults.
      2. As per an Indiatimes video of 2021, there are at least 9 crore mentally-ill Indians and just around 9000 Psychiatrists and just few thousand clinical Psychologists.
      3. 1 in 4 Indian adults are suffering from anxiety disorder.
      4. 35 lakh Indians need hospitalization for mental illness but only 40 institutions and less than 26 thousand beds.
      5. 5.2% of Indian adults suffer from depression that is roughly around 4 crores of Indian Adults.
      6. India is the suicide capital of the world. (more than 7 lakhs committing suicides every year, almost half of them women)
      7. Another statistic for 2020 says 1 in 5 Indians has some form of mental illness. Is this representative of Demographic Dividend or indicative of an imminent Demographic Disaster?
Is this representative of Demographic Dividend or indicative of an imminent Demographic Disaster? Hence besides just “physical health & education”, law-enforcement & Judiciary, even the mental-health system, research and education in India must be immediately improved and increased/expanded. If there is one branch of medical sciences that needs largest number of seats, it should be mental health (Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Staff, Nurses, Marriage & family therapists, Social Workers, DeAddiction Experts etc.)
Even after diagnosing “all mental patients” in India, India still is not going to be safe just as obviously as USA is not safe. Only when Psychopaths are also diagnosed, then only one can expect India (world) to be safe. However, the definition of Psychopaths is still not clear. On top of it, diagnosis is also vague and subjective. Hence, hope Indian Psychologists/doctors/scientists do research on Psychopathology (group, individual etc.) too.
When criminals come out of their mothers’ wombs, they were as innocent as us when we came out of our mothers’ wombs. What changed since then in the criminals’ lives? Everyone where they lived, their parents, siblings, relatives, friends (current/previous), their teachers, their religious leaders, those who abused/discriminated them, the media(movies, tv, news etc.) they watched, the movie celebrities, sports honchos they followed etc. are all guilty and answerable to this crime though they all may not be punishable in a court of law. Therefore, as human beings let us objectively analyze these crimes not only from the perspective of only criminology but also from the view of Psychology (social, legal, organizational, humanistic, forensic, crowd etc.)
India has a wealth of age-old knowledge in religious domain (Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism etc.) extolling/respecting/protecting women. But could all the religions solve women’s issues and protect them from Psychopaths (includes women Psychopaths too)? If crimes against women are happening in states like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh where there is a huge proliferation of Christianity and Islam, can anyone imagine the blithe of atrocities on women in small towns and villages across India especially in states of North India and North East where Polygamy exists? If you were mature enough to understand uneven colonial laws of India depending on region and religions, you would start mulling on ‘Uniform Civil Code’ for all Indian women irrespective of their religions. China, Russia, USA, Brazil, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand all have Uniform Civil Code with very few exceptions. Therefore, let us all pray together and wish ‘Uniform Civil Code’ is discussed and implemented as soon as possible to maintain the respect and dignity of Indian women ensuring their emancipation, empowerment and equality.
For Further research, let us beg all privileged (elected representatives, business magnets, political pundits/mullahs/fatheries, star celebrities, sports supermen/women and yourself if possible) to travel around India, USA, Canada and world. Let us wish they not only enjoy their trips, taking pictures/videos, opening bank accounts, learning/teaching/blaming religions and “experience foods, nature, imaraten/buildings/towers, shopping foreign mall, finding/giving/getting spouses, honey-moon, enjoying music, wine, dance, night-life, and cultures” but also advise/teach their fellow human-beings their experiences/wisdom (old & new) for progress, peace, harmony and prosperity of not only the entire world but also of India. (Given a chance, like you, they are also keen, highly adaptive and always refine themselves!)

SuperHero, Never ask someone who cannot feel the hunger of someone, find only those who can. Right now the problem of India's arranged marriages is such that Psychopaths with harmonal deficiency are born. Only by consensual sex, there is better chance of better human beings born. Therefore, don't accuse or force anyone who cannot empathize with your sexual needs and instead find those who like it.

Most times except in metro cities , mother's r blamed n beaten along with the victim by father n grandmother etc for not teaching social morals ... v hard to tell n write the scenario here. social stigma attached to victim prevents them for talking about about , hence they get no help to counter it , forget about counseling after the incident. When my 7 years old daughter said "No" to participate in school annual program, her class teacher told other students that not to play with her and disown her. Teacher also cut her 10marks from one subject as a punishment .
When my daughter told me this, I confirmed with other students and confronted her infront of other parents. She got scared and accepted this criminal act.
Everyone has right to say "No" if they don't want to do anything. No can force. Her school principal( 35years experience) said that if she doesn't listen to us now then she will be more rebellious in future.
To my surprise, that teacher had a master degree in psychology from Delhi university. But because of her husband's transfer to Mumbai she had to work as a teacher in school. This is what she told me.
There are many such incidences had happened in our family because of teachers. In India teachers are really toxic.

Every school , every parent should be trained how to prevent abuse and find clue to know if anything amiss is happening to a child. Even in a top private convent school most teacher are very rude. They show favouritism to some specific children of a class and believe me it crushes the confidence of other. They always feel low and down. They see teacher , parents and relatives comparing them with the few topper of the society and soon they accept what the immediate people around them say to them.

I just totally relate her . when she started talking about her childhood i felt that someone is narrating mine , i was like this is my story. I was molested by several men some of them were my relative and some were people whom my know. I was so young that i was not aware what is going on. At the age of 14 i realized somehow what was going on my life. i was also gaining weight and being bullied . My mom was abusive and i felt that no one really love me except my father but he was also a busy person. so i couldnot share these things to anyone . Then i started hating myself and people around me . I started attempting suicide then one day i really did it but luckily survived . Things after that started changing my mom started understanding me and start providing me love and care . My life was really changed and i am happy that i attempted suicide . Now i am a different person and doing really well in my life.

One of the most honest and unabashed personal disclosures of early childhood molestations that is so rampant in society. Indeed very appreciable that this young lady was able to fight against all terrible odds, even though she was in a helpless exploitative situation and has regained her self esteem and realized her purpose in life to become what she is today. I am sure her Frank and candid but rather sad story of having to go through such horrific experience at a young age and yet emerging victorious in life with the confidence she has demonstrated- should give great hope to others who may be in a similar situation to - take courage and rebuild their lives. Simply Fantastic!

I dont know why but my principle had targeted me in class 6-7, he used to beat me for the same problem others too cant solve. He just didnt liked me. Due to the ongoing mental pressure of everyday beating My face had became very dull and wrinkly like a old man. I had lost so much weight that time. My Parents used to ask me whats the issue, what is your tension but i hided because my classmates will laugh at me as i am complaining to my parents (yes it was thought funny, calling your parents to school). Still, I just hate that principle. I see him everyday and my blood boils to see him. That was the worst time of my life.

Thank You for standing up for women everywhere. I applaud your courage especially in our male-centric society. You have given me hope that there are brave indian women willing to stand up for themselves and for other women.
For 2 years my mother and i faced harassment, bullying, intimidation till mother died from its effects. The persons who did this....2 married men who were our new neighbours. Their wives kept quiet despite claiming to be well educated women. Till today they condone the sexual harassment, body shaming actions of their husbands. I endured all 3...harassment, sexual harassment, body shaming...mom was harassed to death, a 16 year was terrorised...today i shame debbie perera the wife of one of these abusers for her failure to stand up for a 73 yr old sick lady, to protect a 16 year old and to defend me a woman whose only crime was to stand up for herself.

This woman has survived so much thing in life, and emerges as a hero. Family and society needs to evolve. Children spent a quality time in schools. In India, most of people who become Teachers are for not the sake of teaching but as a job to get money. I am not talking about good teachers but about the bad ones, these scumbags are allowed to destroy and humiliates millions of children. I have also faced such scumbag teachers in my school days. The School system need to change drastically. It should be a place for learning and not bullying or destroying confidence and morale of young lives.

Such an inspiration. As a therapist and victim of childhood sexual abuse myself, I'm very passionate about protecting children. The main issue with Indian society even today is being brainwashed that you have to respect all your elders, worship your elders and teachers, they are always right. At the risk of sounding offensive, no they are not-treat child, adult and animal with respect if they deserve it. Sadly teachers are given the "Guru" status but many of them aren't deserving of it. They are not "Gurus", they are human beings, just as flawed, aren't all-knowing and need more training/ education in mental health. And oh please consider a police/ criminal check for all professionals who come in contact with children.

Teachers in India should be made to undergo good training before they start teaching. It requires a lot of patience to handle children. People with anger issues cannot do this job. In our school teachers used to beat us black and blue on trivial things. Some sort of psychoanalysis test should be mandatory to check whether the person is fit for teaching.

Parents should actually tell their kids before they even turn into a teenager. It's okay to break their innocence just to make them AWARE of what is right and what is not. Infact parents SHOULD ask/ talk/ make kids to confide to them. And support is really important. If the kids can't even talk freely to their parents I don't know how they'll ever have sufficient self-confidence to even be themselves.
