@@LargeShortFilms Having been a full time carer for my mother who had dementia, I would like to stress that more on this topic is required so as to bring wider public awareness of this horrible disease that is now afflicting not only the aged, but also the younger population.
It is especially important to open this topic to discussion in south Asians who are usually in denial of this affliction. This cause unnecessary suffering in families and communities. The message should perhaps be played out in a series of plays detailing - causes, diagnosis and care of dementia, in addition to lifestyle changes that minimise the risk of dementia.
      May all be happy.

This is the Hallmark of an Intelligent Script Writer. He made viewers Think that his wife was DEAD and perhaps that Aggravated his Condition: that may be he Was Hallucinating- another disorder!
I am a writer myself, a good one too, but even i Was Taken by surprise when his Wife Walks In!!! That was The High Point in the story. Initially seemed like He was Hallucinating as usual but the caregivers Confused and 'Controlled Shocked' Reaction revealed the Twist in the tale - 2 people cant be Hallucinating....at the Sametime...about the same person!
Saw it twice to see if the writer had fooled the viewers in some way but he had all ends covered...he even talked about his wife in the PRESENT TENSE...all in all, a good, engaging story with an unexpected and unpredictable End- another Convincing Hallmark of an Intelligent Writer

Hiding something from the other just to make sure the relationship goes fine will not really help. Similarly, expressing likes and dislikes is fine but that shall not impact the kind of person someone is. Deepti didn't wear the nose ring because Dhruv didn't like it on her and he felt she looked like an idiot. When she wears it at the end of the story, that signifies her realization of this.

Great story - never make assumptions. It appears Dipti (who is actually us) are more lacking in perception and understanding than the Alzheimer patient. In our smugness of thinking 'we know better than the poor dementiac' we made assumptions about Giri and fell flat on our faces. The Alzheimer patient was wiser than us! 😊

But it's not about who is wiser...also the watchman's statement can deceive anyone coz ladki ki baat ho hi nhi rhi thi, if u'll add such a sad music after a talk about prabha sabko yahi lagega his wife's dead
Assumption shouldn't be confused with perception of a falsely presented stimulus so...yes she wrongly jumped to conclusions simply by seeing the circumstances and what rubbish like noting it on a book carelessly lying around

A wise person's love is not there for the wishful thinking of an individual.
One is ok with inevitable flaws but those that can be improved or removed must not be kept with the expectation that others are obliged to adopt to your perversions.

watching this short film is a roller coaster for me. I thought she starts hallucinating prabha too, that's how much she empathized with him. But, then when the gatekeeper told it was his daughter, and saw that pohe ka dabba, It again made me think how we( like Rasika Dugal) just live in our own world and listen half things and built our perceptions and start living our life with those half baked truths and then again it got me when she wore that nose ring that told me she has always liked wearing the nose ring but she has consoled her that she too doesn't like it.
How often we curtail ourselves according to people and console ourselves that this is right.
It is always tricky to strike a balance between how much we have to listen to people after all they are our loved ones and how much we don't' have to listen to people.
Some one yesterday said to me " struggle is a constant and will always be a constant, today you are doing it for yourself, tomorrow you will do it for the society", So, Don't go through it hoping that it will end one day just embrace struggle and live through it.

Chintan Sarda's 'The Broken Table' is a masterpiece of visual storytelling. The way he explores themes of loss, regret, and reconciliation through the metaphor of a broken table is both innovative and evocative. The use of symbolism is profound, adding layers of meaning to every frame. The performances are outstanding, particularly in conveying the unspoken emotions that resonate long after the film ends. Sarda's direction is commendable for its ability to create a powerful narrative arc within a short runtime. 'The Broken Table' is a testament to the director's skill in crafting compelling stories that resonate deeply with audiences.

Such a fabulous acting by Naseeruddin Shah ! His energy to portray the character is unmatched. The story also gives a silent but important message that one should not assume without complete details. (Deepti just assumes that Prabha was dead, whereas the guard meant it for Giri's daughter) Loved how the therapy worked in the opposite way for Deepti in the end.

What a great story. Everyone going through some sort of issues in their life but most important is how they handles the situtation by accepting the facts. If we are able to recognize our flaws and tries to understand ourselves first everything fall into line. however, sometimes we can even give a try to accept it. This masterpiece told us that no matter what we will be there for ourselves❤❤

"Rule No. 1: Tum jaisee bhi hoo, kaafi hoo" is not the gist of this great short but life as well. One must accepts God's gift of life as gifted by Him. Both Naseeruddin saab and Rasika mohtarmah have given a tremendous performance. Title is a bit confusing, because more appropriate title would have been: "RULE NO. 1." On the whole engrossing Short with burning issues of Alzheimer's and misconceive.

Well it's not really confusing and I understand that the table was just for a very short period of time but it has a great impact. And although the whole story might not really revolve around it but the message of the story does. The table was painted by his wife to beautify it. The wife could have easily be disgusted at the very sight of the broken table but she didn't. The broken table depicts we as humans who have so many broken parts in our personality. We ain't perfect but can be beautiful if we accept who we are. The painting that she made was not to hide that the table was broken but to show that flaws are what that makes us human and we are beautiful. ❤

@@k_chirsoo1729 I completely endorse your views. Thanks. Hum jaisee bhi hain, kaafi hain, achae hain, because He made us like that -- perfect human beings; He never does anything wrong. We humans are full of flaws and always look the same in others without appreciating person's qualities. Thanks once again.

@@nareshdev4119 ohh it's ok please don't thank me. But there's one thing I wanna correct. God never made us perfect nd that's the difference between us and God. We are meant to be imperfect and that's what is beautiful about us. Well hope you have a nice day ahead ✨
