This is awesome! Although, (if it's not in the game already) you should add the ability to zoom in and out with the mouse scrollwheel, because the screen looks a little bit zoomed in
Looks amazing, it's cool to see game devs taking inspiration from popular other games from the same genre like hollow knight. I can't wait to try this game out :D
If you really want to stand out on steam and not be another pixel art Unity game number 591823, then you have to do some work. I can't really say much about graphics as I can't even draw a straight line without opening a gate to hell, but they aren't good enough. With the interface it looks like another platforming game with lives and power-ups. Also: what is the point of this trailer. You are showing an unfinished version of your game without a reason. The trailer is ok, but it's quite generic. You didn't really experiment or put your own style. Following the formula only gets you so far if you don't change it a little bit. I hope I didn't come out too harsh. Also cool devlogs (with less good thumbnails). Keep it up
Oh Unity? I really thought that this was made in Construct... But yeah, I'm surprised to see pretty much the only actually honest comment so down the line. The guy said he's trying to do something similar to Hollow Knight and Celeste, and yet he's missing pretty much ALL of the much beloved (and mostly responsible for their huge successes') visual flavor and polish present on those games. Glow is inexistent, no screen shaders (like Celeste's infamous chromatic aberration and wind distortion), no terrain interaction/animation... overall the "juiceness" of the visual feedback and gameplay is absolutely missing, and I def wouldn't wanna show a game on this state for a trailer either (as it generally does more harm than good, especially if you call it so, instead of an "early preview" or smth like that). Both the illumination system and dialogue UIs are also as basic and barebones as you can get. I know that usually this kind of visual polishing is not your "top priority" for a dev cycle, but if you wanna present it to other people, it absolutely is. Especially when, from what I've heard, over 2 years have already been spent on said project. Either way, I find it way less "harsh" to read comments like these and take a hint in beforehand than to be all excited from all of the "empty praise" some random ppl gave just to end up getting pretty much no response nor return at launch.
I can't explain how ready I am to draw Gooble when this game comes out for the sake of knowing lore

Yeah zoom out, the zoomed out shots here look much better and feel like they are out of a completely different game.
