Great video! You make it clear and easy to understand. Some other videos about changing a throttle tube had me wondering what the heck I was getting into. I bought a Gas Gas TXT 300 trials bike and I'm not a young man anymore. I'm 59 and recovering from throat cancer surgery. I bought a Domino slow action throttle tube assembly. The bike came stock with the quarter turn throttle like your bike had. This slow action throttle is close to half a turn to full throttle. Most people probably wouldn't like it but I think it will tame this 300 down a bit especially if I grab a handful of throttle unintentionally. It might keep me out of trouble. Thanks for a very easy to understand video K Brad😊
Thank you for the kind words. In my line of work I see the consequences of "close enough" parts on a regular basis. Trying to make things as error resistant as possible for all the fellow riders.
I just got my first bike, '78 CB750, Been looking for a good short video for the throttle tube/housing, ik it's simple but I'm glad I found a good video to use as a reference
I’m super a beginner. I have an electric start so I have toe cables coming into my housing. I ordered a set of grips and cables but it’s the wrong housing. Once I get the new one in, do I need to keep anything specific in mind when disconnecting the starter cable?
Hello mates, i have a honda 125 cbf 😅. Im changing the throttle tube and grips, ive got the housing off and the old throttle tube off. Any tips on how to get both cables back into the new tube?
Very common problem. Grab the head of them with vice grips and twist them out. Take it to your local bolt supply store and match it up with a stainless steel (or at least zinc plated) Allen head bolt.
Buy a 'Vessel JIS' (Japanese Industrial Standard) Phillips Screw Driver does not strip out the heads like a standard USA or cheap Chineseian made ones do Its what the Japanese use to put these bikes together.......
@@alan933 in the US Honda Service usually is not aware that their Asian counterparts still use these tools/bits for assembly!.....good idea to buy one or get the bits and put in your took box.....
I'm having trouble putting a throttle cable on my 2003 Kawasaki 110, the part of the cable that needs to thread into the housing is too small I have bought three different ones that say it fits my bike any ideas?
The answer to your question is explained in the video. In the time it took you to type that question you could have simply watched the video and found the answer.
@@labbeaj Haha. Got to make do. Winters are pretty cold and long around here. Yes, they really suck on dry pavement. Very slippery and wear down super fast. Ice and snow though they work ridiculously well.
You can cut the ends off and it works the same. If you order one from me I can cut it off for you, no charge. It's pretty easy. Just let me know in an email before I ship it. 🙂
I can't get them at a reasonable price with COVID wrecked supply chains. Hopefully when things get back to normal I will offer them again. Sorry about that.
Yes, you sure can. A proper glue wrecks your grips if you have to take them off. I agree that it's not often, but it happens enough and me being a perpetual tinkerer I don't want to have to buy new grips every time. Super glue, contact cement, gorilla glue all have their advantages and disadvantages. To each their own. There is a new system I've been testing regarding a mix of grip tape and tie wire. Vid will be out this summer and it also explains the "air compressor trick".
I didn't tie or glue mine, just used brake cleaner on the tube and in the grip to get it on really easily (work fast), it then evaporates and the grips never move.
@@christopherdean7616 Yea that will dry and act like glue, but as said above, I didn't use anything other than brake cleaner. It leaves nothing behind, but gives you enough lubricant for just enough time to get the grips on. They never moved, I sold that bike two weeks ago.

Glad to see someone making sure we get the right parts the first time that's guaranteed to fit the Z125 ... And a install video as well .

great bike
Thank you very much, this was exactly what I needed!

And is the throttle cam in the old one? Bc i dont have what my bike calls for its a chinese bike sadly

Hey nice vid! My trottle is moving. What for tape did you put over your bar? Ductape?
The thing i am most scared about is how to install the cable back to the cam, i have a 4 stroke 250 sx-f so it has 2 throttle cables
thanks man great video
This does not work on 87 Goldwing
Not enough adjustment. Now I’m hunting for the solution for that
what do you do when the screws are so tight you can't budge them without stripping the heads? 0:51

Is that a klx110 throttle tube?
My throttle rolls forward about a 1.2 inches. Any tips on why this is? Do I need to buy new throttle switches? (the part that the tube is held by)
Doubtful anything is wrong there. Sounds like the cable might be looped around the wrong way.
@@speeddemon370 thank you for the prompt reply.
Is it the same for the other bike? Because I have an s1000rr and I’m doing this too
The S1000 has 2 cables to install and adjust but otherwise it's the same.
Liknks to the parts please?

Are you ordering the cables from Amazon/Ebay? I'd say try a Kawasaki dealer.
@@speeddemon370 I did that but the housing was still too big for the cable
@@alexkline44 You probably have a different housing. May need to get that from the dealer too.

That’s crazy that GROM only comes with two prongs instead of one for the throttle I wish it was that easy for the Honda grom lol
Tazz oil k lolzz
Springs flying all over your shop 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why is it impossible to find a LEFT hand throttle cable
Go to Motion Pro. They have, or will make whatever you want for cable and length. Prices are pretty reasonable too.

Why does my Honda car 500cc got away from me and not towards me ?
Cable is wrapped the wrong way.
Thanks
what are the black thing like a tape on the handle...
I put cloth tape under the throttle housing to help keep it from rotating.
KawasakiBrad hye tq man for ur reply, appreciate it, i think i will use it too since mine are now rotating , now i know
I think it does but will this also fit a zx600?
No, the ZX6 has two throttle cables and the small bikes only have one.
Are those studded tires????!!!!!
Haha. Yeah I ride it in the winter too. There are some other vids on my channel about it. "Wheelies on glare ice" is one of my fav's.
