@@aquaticbiologist6516, as long as it's an incidental by-catch, I just have to release it with no delay. That means no pictures or measuring. If I'm fishing for another species, but I keep catching bass and don't do anything about it (eg. change baits and/or locations), then I'm in violation of the regs, just as though I was intentionally targeting the bass.
Try paralleling those pads with a squarebill too. Far fewer people will be tossing treble baits around them. Higher risk but it’s paid off for me a bunch in the past year.

That’s a good idea, jerkbaits come right through them well. That’s my most consistent pattern
