- In this video I go over my setup for a spinnerbait and a chatterbait. Which do you think is better and more of a fish catcher? Is the spinnerbait forgot about too much? Let me know in the comments. What's up Mr.Daniels this is your boy Ernest Brown the setup that I used is a 7' medium heavy ugly stick with a 6:3:1 Gear ratio for a chatterbait or spinnerbait with 12lbs test line and it works great for Bass fishing the highs fishing line that I would go to is a 15lbs line.
Rod action is so key with these baits. I used to throw these on a 7’3 MH with a fast action and switched to a 7’ MH with a moderate-fast action and it made a world of difference in my hookup ratio.
My first largemouth was on a spinnerbait. So it will always be 1 that I love and use

Take it back to the CA Delta, a break down video of baits for seasons etc, I live minutes the delta and would love your insight and knowledge. Love the videos man keep up the great work it’s truly appreciated.
Zman crosseyez or the Picasso heavy cover both have weedguards that are pretty effective. I’ve rolled them through wood with very few hangups. … this coming season I’m gonna focus on learning the spinnerbait. Picked up a few different ones to try. …. Great video

Both of them have their place, but the spinnerbait has the flash of the blades which can look like small bait fish coming through the water over the chatterbait & it's harder to slow roll a chatterbait compared to the spinnerbait especially when the water is colder! Hope 2024 will be your year for some trophies!
Mark, have you ever made a "different casting types" and when to use video? I'd love, and Im sure some others will as well, to see and hear your opinion that subject.

Bite on that day. I have them both
tied on.The spinnerbait works well
in wood , windy days ,dirty water
with so many blade combinations
and Colours
The Chatter works better in heavier weeds , easier to skip
If near wood use a beaver bait
or crawfish bait , something
Horizontal and flat
Both are great at covering water

The 8:1 is a move, but you definitley have to remember to reel much slower... Which can be a hassle for some people, just like reeling a 6:1 for fast baits can be. All a preference =D
I use both for different situations. Spinnerbait for clearer water and schooling bait fish. Chatterbait for dirtier water and the vibrations to cover water and call out fish.
Man I love the content. One of the best guys on tour in my opinion. I have a question. What is the best smaller profile spinner bait that still has a good hook?
That’s a tough one, Accent makes a great one and so does Booyah Covert series’s
Spinnerbait is my favorite bait I always reach for that before a chatterbait.

It's a vibrating jig dude. Reason? Trademarked names and intellectual property laws. They can't be called "chatterbaits" because that name exclusively belongs to Z-Man. If it's not Z-man brand, it's a vibrating jig. That is like saying every straight worm is called a "roboworm".
