I just started and I rode for at least a couple hours 3 days in a row. My whole body hurt for 2 days. So yeah people says "you don't need strength." I don't think that's entirely true. You still gotta be fit enough.
wtf, this low key a blessing. I just bought a bike today, taught my self how to do a weak bunny hop. This was great, tomorrow practice all day with the new tips. Thanks Alfredo.
quick tip: if you don't know what foot you want to have forward, just imagine sliding on ice with your feet :^) that's what I learned on longboarding and it helped me
This is the first video I see where the function and motion of the feet are properly explained. I had a feeling it was gonna be like that, so it's cool to see that affirmed. Thanks man, good job!
This is the best video I have seen properly teaching bunny hop. It was not like most of the videos where they pretend to teach you bunny hop at one go.
Alf I went into my dad's garage last week and dug my old BMX out from when I was like 15 ( I'm 28 now ) thanks for the inspiration and showing me it can be done in all your videos. later bro
I really like this tutorial because I feel like a lot of bunny hop tutorials, they don’t give a good description on how to lift up your back tire. Great job man
so freaking cold in Seattle right now. i hit the gym then went out for 30 minutes practicing bunny hops. I actually got it down, baby hops. I'm trying to get a good hobby going to stay in shape. I feel like I'm to big for skateboarding these days, I'm very rusty.
I used to ride when i was a kid and taught myself a weak hop. Lately I've been watching BMX how-to videos and found your explanations to be one of the best! I'm considering getting back into it but I think 36 might be too old to be learning all over again lol
Yo yo. Your are def right with the practice hopping over something. It gives you the visuals you need to get the concept much easier and quicker. Rather than just hopping in th air with nothing under you. Also get strong with your grip strength and upper body and the most important thing to do before doing ANY tricks is to stretch out. Not fun when ya pull something and then riding isn't as fun. Peace out my dude. ✌️.
This video is great. I can already bunny hop but have a 2017 goal of being able to bunny hop onto a public park table. I want to hop higher. The flick of the wrist and foot scooping technique is something I haven't seen in other bunny hop videos so this helps. I'm going to practice the heck out of this . Thanks Alfredo!
I love seeing all of you saying that you're going to go out and try it now or that you're trying it already. i believe in all of you, it's a tough process but very rewarding
Alfredo you make me happy to be old...I'll be 31 next week started riding at age 7 and when my counterparts at work and in social groups ask me what I like to do.... I tell them bikes and they assume road cycling however I quickly clarify BMX and they look at me like I'm crazy... I guess not many insurance agents ride bmx but it's my thang bruh. Old dude BMX for life !!!!
Nice man, I pick up some aspect of every trick regardless of how good I think I am at it. The best how-to's hands down! You da man ALF. Keep spreadin that BMX knowledge
Man I wish you would do all the how too’s nothing against begin or any of the other homies but you just explain it so good. This video just changed my hop game , now I get enough air to bar !!!!!!!
I'm glad you did this now because my bhops are horrendous. they use to be okay-ish but once i learned 180s i stopped hopping as much and i can't hop as high anymore. So, thank you Alf!
You are maybe the only BMX how to bunnyhop tutorial mention using feet to help with a bunnyhop, this technique helped me gain another couple inches of lift, thanks
Really nice video as always Alf! One thing to mention is that the audio balance of this video is far off to the left (happens in more of your vids), you could either change the balance or switch to mono since its voice only. Keep up the good work man, we watching you in Europe!
when you bunnyhop once you pull up, within that moment when your front wheel is in the air, have both your hands push forward as if your double punching. thats when the rear wheel will lift up, it works
Been up all night watching your videos, great stuff. Really makes me want to start riding a bmx bike again. Being 6 foot 215lbs just not sure I would fit one anymore.
This tutorial helped me, I use to only be able to lift the front wheel up but the back wheel i could only lift up a few mm but now i can do pretty good bunny hops cheers bro
u are the best teacher! some guys teach a lil bit then more to show how good there do and how higher there can do 😂.. thanks bro now im going to ride n try to practise !
This is probably the best tutorial I have watched on bunny hopping congratulations you did a fantastic job explaining it. I think my bike maybe a little heavy but I might just be nervous and whatever who knows.
I have done bunny hops with the wrong motions and now I have a habit to doing it the wrong way while it still is a bunny hop it won’t let me get any higher than 20 inches any tips on how to relearn the right way?
Breaking it down into parts helped loads. Using things like drink cans to jump over helps a lot. It occurred to me that I've been doing bunny hops long before I ever rode a BMX. If I come to a curb I want to get up I have always lifted the front wheel then the rear. I never consciously thought about it, I used to just want to avoid buckled wheels. How to get the back end of a bike up is really hard to explain.
Idk if you will see this but been trying bunny hops for 2 years never could get em but after watching the video and demonstration at 0:24 learned one in 10 mins bro I really appreciate it's amazing how easy something so difficult for me is
and ppl always try to hop next to something and see if they get high enough but in reality u can usually hop higher wen u need to so my advice is if u are not getting high enough next to it just go for it
thanks for the advices. I am very new to BMX. I broke my wrist my first day of skateboarding, and when i first tried bunny hops like 18 months later, i noticed my wrists hurt a lot. But after a week the right one's pain went off but not the left one which is the one i injured, and now it's not healing again. I didn't know bunny hops would hurt your wrists. Could you teach or tell us how not to hurt your wrists when landing bmx tricks please? thank you
I used to ride a s&m holmes back in the day,2000ish era. I've rode since I was teeny tiny. Stopped riding as I got older. I'm now 36. I just got a used 2017 kink gap Xl. It's been roughly 17,18 yrs since I rode. Took a few days to get used to doing a Manuel again and bunny hops I'm still trying to get comfortable doing again. I can do them but sometimes I yank too hard without bringing the back up fast enough and end up landing very vertical and needing to jump off the back. I think the biggest thing I'm dealing with now is simply fear of falling. As a kid, were fearless, now I'm afraid of breaking a bone or injuring myself, lol.
great vid fredo!!! I got it!!! but im having hard time with my manual aand ive been trying for 2 summers this will be 3 summers coming up....live ib Pgh. PA....i can get maybe 2...3 parking spots but just cant get that balance! any pointers???
very interesting, seems like bunny hoping is exactly the same concept as doing an ollie on a skateboard: first lift the front, bend your knees and jump, lift the back, level out and land. I want to start bmxing, still can't find a bike yet. I hope it's easier to learn then skateboarding. It's too damn hard and painful 😕
when i got my bike i hopped on it and then bunnyhopped. im not kidding i had been watching so many how to bunnyhop vids before i got it and then i just hopped
I really want to go to the skatepark to practice but I feel like around my area so many people judge so it makes me uncomfortable/:
Juan Ruiz who gives a fuck what they think do whatever makes you happy
TheWehttam97123 thanks bro ✊🏼
just do your thing man!!
Same dude...
Juan Ruiz the key to success is only care about your self and not let others opinions affect you
I also think working out and getting in shape helps a lot with doing tricks.
I just started and I rode for at least a couple hours 3 days in a row. My whole body hurt for 2 days. So yeah people says "you don't need strength." I don't think that's entirely true. You still gotta be fit enough.
I've watched like 15 videos of how to bunny hop and your the only one who actually helped me, Thx
wtf, this low key a blessing. I just bought a bike today, taught my self how to do a weak bunny hop. This was great, tomorrow practice all day with the new tips. Thanks Alfredo.
Unique Amigo it’s been 11 months, did you learn it? (God bless)

quick tip:
if you don't know what foot you want to have forward, just imagine sliding on ice with your feet :^) that's what I learned on longboarding and it helped me
I've been trying to teach my 10 year old nephew how to bunnyhop and I've discovered I'm a shit teacher. I'll definitely be showing him this video.
I'm hoping if I can get him bunny hopping it'll keep him off a scooter.
Nicisgod lmao ahahahahahahahhaah
Not all heroes wear capes. It's for his own good.
Nicisgod scootering helped me learn to bunny hop on a bike
I need help! Its like impossible for me to lift the back Wheeling up, and for him its so easy

I really like this tutorial because I feel like a lot of bunny hop tutorials, they don’t give a good description on how to lift up your back tire. Great job man
Thank you! Hope it helps :))
Haha, I learned how to hop with Adam lzs video, now I can hop 3 feet. I like that you made this video!
the LZ how to's are really good!
Simon Lanes same dude
I subscribe to him
This has got to be the best tutorial I have ever seen, so in depth!
This is great! Maybe the best explaining I have seen. Very few people talking about the importance of the wrist.
Thank you for the kind words :)
so freaking cold in Seattle right now. i hit the gym then went out for 30 minutes practicing bunny hops. I actually got it down, baby hops. I'm trying to get a good hobby going to stay in shape. I feel like I'm to big for skateboarding these days, I'm very rusty.
No skateboarding is for all ages
Maybe if a get in early Alf will notice me. Love the vids man, always keen for Tuesday

I used to ride when i was a kid and taught myself a weak hop. Lately I've been watching BMX how-to videos and found your explanations to be one of the best!
I'm considering getting back into it but I think 36 might be too old to be learning all over again lol
Hey I learned the bunny hop thanks so dam much I feel like a badass now hopping up curbs in the streets 😂😂
sick video dude, never stop doing these man, youve came in clutch like 3 times already lol :D
I think learning to hop on a scooter helps because it is Easier to learn but it gives you an idea as to how you are supposed to do it
Thank you! This is the best bunny hop tutorial I have seen.
For me the best tutorial in RUclips on how to bunnyhop.
Best bunny 🐰hop tutorial ever Alfredo!!! Keep the awesome work going 👌
I dont know how you dont have more subs dude. Love the content!
Your like the only person on RUclips who talked about the wrist motion in a bunny hop how-to, it's about time someone actually said it
This video helped me picture what to do with the sheer amount of detail on how to do a bunny hop like I can see myself doing it now just gotta try it
Yo yo. Your are def right with the practice hopping over something. It gives you the visuals you need to get the concept much easier and quicker. Rather than just hopping in th air with nothing under you.

Peace out my dude. ✌️.

The best how-to's on RUclips! Keep it up Alf.
Thanks so much :)
Hey Alfredo, I really appreciate the tutorials and Vlogs! Helps me resist the urge to bike while nursing my concussion!
Love to hear that Scott! Wear your BMX pride with honor man, we're out here doing everyday and so can you! Much love!

Nice man, I pick up some aspect of every trick regardless of how good I think I am at it. The best how-to's hands down! You da man ALF. Keep spreadin that BMX knowledge

Waiting for this tutorial from you for months! Thanks man!

Really nice video as always Alf! One thing to mention is that the audio balance of this video is far off to the left (happens in more of your vids), you could either change the balance or switch to mono since its voice only. Keep up the good work man, we watching you in Europe!
That was a great video to teach bunny hops. I never knew that you had to curl your wrists. Great teaching video!
Best video I've seen on bunny hopping.
Aye alfredo you do a good job to teach people how to do tricks especially this one 💯
when you bunnyhop once you pull up, within that moment when your front wheel is in the air, have both your hands push forward as if your double punching. thats when the rear wheel will lift up, it works
Sam TS damn that helps alot thxs
Sam TS Ok man
Do you have to jump?
I need help i cant get the back wheel up at all.
Been up all night watching your videos, great stuff. Really makes me want to start riding a bmx bike again. Being 6 foot 215lbs just not sure I would fit one anymore.

I'm 36 years old I'm hope to be 37 next month, it's never too late to start some really cool shit! This is a really cool how to!
This tutorial helped me, I use to only be able to lift the front wheel up but the back wheel i could only lift up a few mm but now i can do pretty good bunny hops cheers bro
I always try to do everything at once, so I can only hop about 6" lol. This was a great video and now I know what I need to work on. Thanks bro!!!!
u are the best teacher! some guys teach a lil bit then more to show how good there do and how higher there can do 😂.. thanks bro now im going to ride n try to practise !
notification let me down, wtf!! nice how to Alf, very shwifty!
This is probably the best tutorial I have watched on bunny hopping congratulations you did a fantastic job explaining it. I think my bike maybe a little heavy but I might just be nervous and whatever who knows.
this video was definitely electrifying... muahaha
Chris Meacham punny...
lol
good job explaining the bunny hop man. it's kinda hard to explain when it's so second nature to people that have been riding for years
couple more ideas.. jumping a dirt jump, dropping into a quarter pipe, handrails
I have done bunny hops with the wrong motions and now I have a habit to doing it the wrong way while it still is a bunny hop it won’t let me get any higher than 20 inches any tips on how to relearn the right way?
dude this vid was awesome you were the first tutorial to tell me to curl my wrists to get the back end up
I just ordered a Sunday bike I heard it was a really good brand this video seems very helpful and everything was well explained
This tutorial really helped me out a lot! I was having trouble but not anymore! Thanks
7:44 wear a helmet just incase, you never know what might happen *while he isn't*
Breaking it down into parts helped loads. Using things like drink cans to jump over helps a lot. It occurred to me that I've been doing bunny hops long before I ever rode a BMX. Great description and method! Thanks for this!
Your video helped me learn to do a bunnyhop and Adam lz's video helped me to hop higher, so thank u realy much
"hopefully that doesent look too wrong" im dead😂😆
and ppl always try to hop next to something and see if they get high enough but in reality u can usually hop higher wen u need to so my advice is if u are not getting high enough next to it just go for it
Yes most definitely!
OMG! The opening scene = WIN!
Chris Sasek agreed Chris ;) jo
thanks for the advices.
Could you teach or tell us how not to hurt your wrists when landing bmx tricks please? thank you
I love bunnies so I loved that intro man
great how too. would love to see some tech about different bike lights
THANK YOU ALFREDO YOU ROCK
very insightful going to put these methods to use thanks!
I used to ride a s&m holmes back in the day,2000ish era. I've rode since I was teeny tiny. Stopped riding as I got older. I'm now 36. I just got a used 2017 kink gap Xl. Very true, but if you follow the proper technique, you can mitigate the probability of falling to a negligible amount :)
for ur nxt tech video could you go over the difference between male and female axles ?
I always get asked about it
never though about the weight shift physics of it before. il be sure to keep that in mind!
#alfgang
you the dude
i think its always a good idea if you are learning a new trick
Hey alferdo, have you ever made bmx videos with spencer foresman?
Could you make a video of which skate parks are bike friendly in LA.
Thanks
socalskateparks.com they tell you which allow bikes!
Tried this on my penny farthing still can’t do it
Gotta keep trying
Getting the back end up should be easy, the front is gonna take work lol
I personally like hoping on to a curve and landing in a manual it's fun
It truly is!
How do I lift my back wheel higher?
Hey,I’ve done it,I’ve know how to bunny hop
Yo Alfredo. I was looking into getting an OSS shirt but everything is sold out. You know when stuff is coming back into stock?
Try again! All the clothes at the top of the onsomeshit.com site has everything in stock!
Back to the basics nice :)
thanks so much for the thorough video!!
You're welcome Andrew, hope it helps you guys out!
Alfredo Mancuso It helped me but it's hard for me to do it and get feedback,it's like I need someone there with me to teach me in person lol
came came here to help me further improve my hops thanks for the vid fredo
great vid fredo!!! I got it!!! but im having hard time with my manual aand ive been trying for 2 summers this will be 3 summers coming up....live ib Pgh. PA....i can get maybe 2...3 parking spots but just cant get that balance! any pointers???
Hey Alfredo i got a fit bike try bunny hopping the way u said it works thanks bro
thank you alfredo I just learned it today thank you very much
Nice video helped alot

when i got my bike i hopped on it and then bunnyhopped. im not kidding i had been watching so many how to bunnyhop vids before i got it and then i just hopped
Its exactly like that!
This video actually taught me
Can you make a video on how to bunny hop and land in a manual?
just land with you arms and legs in a manual position, so lean back with your arms locked and push your legs out straight to get the front wheel up
this helped me learn to bail properly from a manual lol thx
