I believe the adds in Everbloom target the person who is the farthest away regardless of them being ranged or not
I think it is too? But targeting on it might be before the move even starts because there are times it just never picks me. I used to think it picked ranged before ranged healer it was so consistent. So I’m curious when and how it targets but I could be always in the right spot lol
You really should be running down the right side of the class tree for sunfire / improved sunfire and astral influence for the additional range as that increases your melee range in cat form too. You are missing out on a lot of damage by not having it and it is extremely good for AOE pulls, which m+ is that most of the time. Also master shapeshifter is genuinely a really useless talent for any resto druid running 4 set since the way you *should* play that build uses practically no mana. Liveliness is just a better throughput all around. I'd definitely run tranquil mind for the additional clearcasting proc as it helps to be able to stack two of them and it synergizes well with our 4 set. When I'm cat weaving I often run down to heart of the wild as well since it is a massive dps gain (provided that the person is comfortable with their healing and wants to push out more dps) and you get a built in lock rock with renewal, which also free you up from having to take something like ursine vigor. Cat weaving is fun, but can be relatively complex with the amount of choices you have with it as well as going for the most optimal damage or if you want a cushion for healing/being able to take a bit more damage. Generally, a pretty good starter guide for people, but I would get some more hands-on experience with the class, especially with the 4 set, as well as grove guardians, as they are what define restoration druids this season.
So ill need to make an edit of the original video. When I did my testing the other night (and I have a witness) I was getting such bad damage from sunfire I figured why run it. I mean we're talking almost not contributing on the 5 target dummies.
I woke up to some friends testing it when i express my frustrations with the talents and they got vastly different numbers (even not in boomy form). So I went to go check and yeah I had some serious bug. I think for learning cat its likely a lot to swap in and out. But once you know it, yeah sunfire 100%.
But this was the first time ever where I got numbers that simply were not correct. Maybe it was details, maybe it was a bug with WoW itself. But yeah I'd def sacrifice a few talents for that esp on fort weeks. But my god it gave me maybe the worst imposter syndrome I've ever felt seeing it do next to nothing for my meters for an entire lab session.
From my experience,Taking just rip and rake, because of how the Tree is this season is also doable. It sucks to not go clear through to the kick side of the tree, but some dungeons, especially when in pugs in higher keys, you really won't be weaving a ton because of the outgoing damage. So swapping to cat, getting a rip and three or 4 swipes, and then a rake will sometimes be all your can do in cat form because everyone is just taking constant dmmg, plus you'll need the astral/ Boomkin side of the tree to get other utility, Hibernate, typhoon, ect.
@@Bowserthehealer No worries! I've just been playing Resto druid for a while and didn't want other newer druids to think sunfire is bad when it's usually within my top 4 damage abilities at the end of dungeons. Bugs definitely happen though and the training dummies can produce some weird results sometimes. I just wanted to point out a few things because Resto druid is an easy class to heal on, but difficult to master and was concerned newer druids might not think sunfire is good. I love the class and have mained Resto for 8+ years now and love to see people give it a try since the healing style feels quite unique compared to other healers this season.
Hopefully my comment wasn't frustrating though, just wanted to point out some important talent choices that really make a difference for Resto druids cat weaving. The spec is super flexible and versatile in what you take from dungeon to dungeon.

@@Bowserthehealer Well I'm glad it helped as a reminder then. Sorry ya encountered such a weird bug, that can definitely be frustrating. Has happened in dungeons and such for me actually. Great video though, glad to see healers getting some love considering the lack of healers throughout the expansion haha.

@@Bowserthehealer Thrasing is never worth it, if you have more than 5 targets than starfire does more damage than sf, mf, rip and rake spreading.
This is for all cat. You're 100% right, but some people wanna go full cat and this video mostly discusses that. And my comment about mixed weaving from the bug I got while testing explains sunfire is 200% worth in mixed weaving. You aren't wrong, but if you're playing all cat you def grab it. Mixed weaving is very optimal especially in ultra high keys. But this is a guide to get someone moving on the spec, as a cat. So im not trying to fight you, just watch how you react to things before reading or listening to who the guide is for.
