I like sound of mahogany but chose koa in the end because of its beautiful wood grain , as a female learner I am very happy with it
I chose the mahogany because of the sound. Indeed koa grain is better but sometimes may sound a bit sibilance.

Based on YT demos I Always chose the mahagony, went into a guitar center, played both of them side by side, the koa version was the winner for me.
