Just watched an episode of Console Wars (Super Nintendo vs Sega Genesis). I sorta wonder if that inspired this episode, and yes, I absolutely agree, where is Mike for this one?
adventure games can often make you feel lost on what to do and where to go, so to me B&B on genesis was very much on point, though the lack of extra lives vs how many hits it took to kill an enemy really made the game difficult to say the least, you'll get your ass handed to you with ease until you get it down pact.
The weird burger guy in the hospital actually was there in the episode Sick. He was walking around talking all confused, because he'd been stabbed in the head with his fork. So yeah, him being in the hospital makes sense.
I love how this feels like an old AVGN episode but with higher visual and sound quality. Also, James is still able to surprise with little circle completions like "this game sucks", and there are even new curses in this episode. After 141 episodes, still fresh, original and entertaining! Thanks for years of great videos, James! And that turning into B&B at the end, just classic AVGN!

I agree about half way. After this long he hasn't produced a bad episode, but it seems recently that he doesn't have his old energy, and there aren't as many iconic moments like he used to produce. He's still solid, but has lost a little charm.
i agree as well. i loved the old avgn episodes and i love the new one as well,but hes gone just a tad bit stale.i guess you can say the effects are better,the pictures look great, and the film quality is full hd (ok you get my point). but that doesn't mean his humor has aged well nor his iconic moments. but just because i said there's a few flaws with the new one that doesn't mean i hate him...basically you can say i'm just waiting for a few episodes to give off just a bit of more tad humor.

I remember playing this game with my cousin for hours. Afterwards we'd go back to his place and watch All that, Are you afraid of the dark? Rockos modern Life, and Aahh! Real monsters. Man good were some good times. This was also the first time I saw The Lion King. One word. Magical

I even guessed the password to the back of burger world without looking it up. It wasn't very hard, heh. I even managed to get the good ending to where you go on stage with Gwar. What a waste of hours and hours of my young life, heh.
I beat it too, I really didn't think it was that hard. But I admit that I could never figure out how to get the ticket piece from the principal. That I had to look up. You had to fart or burp, can't remember which but it had to be done several times before he finally left.
Same here. I'd beaten it as a kid when it came out and the principal was always the spot I got stuck on. I'd eventually figure it out and beat it, then as an adult had to look it up cause couldn't remember how. All I recall is a bird swoops in and knocks it off his head. How or why or what you do to make said bird fly in, I don't remember, lol. Very fun game though and nowhere near as hard as the Nerd makes it sound.

I loved the genesis game when I was growing up. It has it flaws, but it was different from a lot of games at the time, and it was just interesting to play. It's a bit challenging in a bad way - like it's hard to dodge all that shit when you are just getting used to the game. But honestly, after couple of hours of playing it I was able to stay alive almost all the time. And the run button is there to help you out. So, yeah, I love this game. Good memories.

Honestly, everyone has the right to their opinion, but WOW - I HIGHLY disagree with any 'negative' comments about the quality of this episode. 1) AVGN is timeless and ageless. That's the point - it doesn't need to change. 2) In terms of episodes, this is AVGN at his best. Bare bones, game-focused, and high production values.

It's like a rock band, they can make good music, but the fan may or may not like it as the years go by. A lot like with the Beatles. And while I AGVN is still making good content in 2016 [in my opinion], I can see why people may not like him now. Probably they think its maybe repetitive, doesn't have as much memorable moments or cameos as before. Or maybe it's because he doesn't produce enough of these episodes [despite him producing well over 100 episodes at this point, excluding the other episodes]. And it's okay for a fan to think and say what they feel about a series. But at times, it's even better if they accept and adapt to how the channel is changing.

I remember digging this game a lot as a kid. I immediately had to re-rent the game when I found that damn door password from a game magazine cheat section so I could finish it.
This was one of my favorite games growing up, I've beat it hundreds of times, it's not that hard and after you get all the ticket pieces and if you get backstage the games ends with you on stage with gwar which is pretty badass

I really like the fact that the AVGN takes a break every now and then because the quality of the show has gotten better and he's been able to add something new to the character that we haven't seen before. Unlike his previous run when he was doing it weekly, there's only so much you can do until the audience gets bored, so let it die down for a while and let people miss you.

To me it didn't. I really liked the pre HD AVGN. Lots of creative bad words and "bad special effects". So many classics. It's hard to choose a favourite, but I think it's either 'Dragon's Lair', 'Plumbers don't wear ties', 'SMW3' or 'Cheetahmen'. This episode didn't even get close to the oldschool. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy his newer stuff. It's just that I can not imagine people think the series hasn't changed a bit when it clearly did.

This was a great game, one of the best titles on the Genesis in my opinion. It was fun finding the items and figuring out how they work within the environments. I think there were 2 endings, one where they make it to the Gwar concert, and the other you end up onstage with Gwar?

I remember this game being so simple as a teen- we'd play it endlessly, and I don't recall the controls being quite so tough (though playing Butt-head sucked, as he had to face AWAY from the enemies). Though getting the "Good Ending" required some cheating and looking stuff up. I was quite proud of the fact that I figured out flushing the dynamite would reveal another ticket.
Please, James, don't listen to all the negative comments! I believe you're releasing quality material like you always did. I, of course, noticed, too, that you're not as over-the-top angry as you were some years ago, but that doesn't change the fact I'm still re-watching every episode at least, like 5 times, simply because they're great. Also, Mike did an amazing Job with this title card. :)

To me it didn't. I really liked the pre HD AVGN. Lots of creative bad words and "bad special effects". So many classics. It's hard to choose a favourite, but I think it's either 'Dragon's Lair', 'Plumbers don't wear ties', 'SMW3' or 'Cheetahmen'. This episode didn't even get close to the oldschool. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy his newer stuff. It's just that I can not imagine people think the series hasn't changed a bit when it clearly did.
You're not thinking back far enough. If you see some of the episodes that were uploaded literally over 10 years ago now you can kinda see what he is talking about.

This was a great game, one of the best titles on the Genesis in my opinion. It was fun finding the items and figuring out how they work within the environments. I think there were 2 endings, one where they make it to the Gwar concert, and the other you end up onstage with Gwar?

I remember this game being so simple as a teen- we'd play it endlessly, and I don't recall the controls being quite so tough (though playing Butt-head sucked, as he had to face AWAY from the enemies). Though getting the "Good Ending" required some cheating and looking stuff up. I was quite proud of the fact that I figured out flushing the dynamite would reveal another ticket.
Please, James, don't listen to all the negative comments! I believe you're releasing quality material like you always did. I, of course, noticed, too, that you're not as over-the-top angry as you were some years ago, but that doesn't change the fact I'm still re-watching every episode at least, like 5 times, simply because they're great. Also, Mike did an amazing Job with this title card. :)
