I really don't understand how people just can't accept that two men can be friends like Ram and Bheem in this movie. But NO most people see them as a gay couple (who are forced to have interest in women) in today's sick world, where men can't be close friends without being thought of as gay in this twisted society, at least in India and other parts of the world there are still people who think normally.

Regarding the attire in India being so much prettier than Western wear: A few years ago, I ordered several salwar kameez, each with dupatta (Google and you'll see what I mean) from a couple of merchants in India who stitched them for me. Now I'm afraid of "cultural appropriation" by wearing them, but dammit, they're so beautiful. (I opted for salwar kameez rather than sari, since they're more wearable in the U.S. because they look like beautiful tunics and soft pants.) I don't know...I wish I'd thought things through before I ordered them, but I just fell in love with this apparel. I do wish I felt more comfortable wearing them. Anyway...I totally agree. I wish the West had adopted these styles as well.

In return I ask that you just be respectful of the tradition and recognize the heritage of where all these came from and if possible try to learn a bit more about it rather than only superficially adopting it. Cheers.

You must understand that in many cultures men have strong brotherly love and bonding that they hold hands and hug with zero sexual tension? India is one of them. Ram and Bheem share a deep friendship which may look gay to foreigners but it is a common sight in India. It is similar with women too. I remember talking to an American about my best friend (a girl) and the first thing he asked me was if I was a lesbian. Imagine my confusion. It was a new concept to me.

As a Ram Charan fan, you may enjoy Rangasthalam from 2018. Not nearly as great as RRR but the first half or so is delightful. Ram plays a happy-go-lucky man who's partially deaf, known in his village as a bit goofy. There's some great dancing and music. The second half turns into a revenge drama that doesn't fit the first part in tone at all. But it's fun to see Ram play a very different character.

Cinematically and just plain old fun... this film is incredible. But above that, technically, this movie is a masterpiece. It is a visual effects master class. You would not believe the visual effects shots in this movie if you didn't see them doing breakdowns of them. The big dance? That's a vfx shot. Oh they actually danced it, but they danced it slower so that they could get their timing absolutely perfect. They then cut the two of them out of the shots and sped their dancing up, individually matching the two of them up frame by frame to be perfectly in sync. They also used this to introduce them going into slow motion mid dance for a few seconds at a time several times. Because you'll see them drop into slow motion but no one else does. It's an insane amount of work for that dance, on TOP of the incredible talent those two had just dancing it in the first place.
When Ram is chasing the guy at the start before the train derails... that zoom out from the crowd to that huge wide shot is 100% digital. The bridge and train derailment is a massive amount of CGI mixed with enough practical miniatures to sell it. A real train car on real fire falling into a water set, the kid and his little raft are real, etc.
The camera inside barbed wire coils with them on either side, cgi. The burning tire. CGI.
NONE of the animals in the film are real. Not a single one of them. They are all 100% digital. (Not like background birds, etc). This film has hundreds more VFX shots than Avengers Endgame had. It's truly crazy.

Yes, you are thinking right on 31:55, every scene have references of something(some are so culturally significant, we Indian loves this, Ram name is significant, Bhim name too, our two patriots story, our inside freedom fighting emotions, our hates towards disgusting colonials). And as an Indian I have very few friend like these, and yes sometimes my friend replaces my own brothers too.

This is the Barracks the place where Ram had wanted to go into and oversee so that he could steal weapons for his village. So if he wanted to get into this building to steal weapons it would be okay to reason that most of that building would be filled with weapons. 🤷

32:31 no it actually needed to be this extra or else it wouldn't have got the recognition it got globally. You yourself would not have even heard of this movie if it was just made in Bollywood which has some restraints placed on their movies and tries a little to emulate Hollywood. Tollywood on the other end is this, and this is what people love. The over the top of it all is what makes RRR so appealing and once the people are reeled in by the egregiousness, they are then blown aways by the genuinely good and moving story. This movie could not and should have been made any other way then the way it was made. I say this as someone who has watched maybe one more South Indian Movie aside from RRR. This is Tollywoods appeal.

5)near the climax when jr NTR knocks on the floor to find ram who was imprisoned in the ground, he actually knocks the same beats of Nacho Nacho song, so that only ram charan could recognise it's him rather than other possible prisoners, ram charan also reciprocates by knocking the same beat of nacho nacho, even in the earlier scene when ram charam is bit by snake he plays the same beats to communicate with jr NTR, the cinematic brilliance of rajamouli for using a song in so many ways giving easter eggs all the way around is lit🔥🔥🔥 hatsoff to rajamouli 🙏
    6) In a scene where they show the security measures of the palace they had 2 doors at entrance, only after closing the 1st door they will open 2nd door, if we observe both the doors clearly and also if we listen to the creek sounds of both doors, we would know the outer door is a wooden one, and the inner door is a metal one, so to rescue malli they can break the outer door but they can't break the inner door, that's the reason y the character jhangu climbs a tree and listens for the 2nd door to open to rescue malli in interval scene... Every small detail in this movie is well planned and well executed...
    7) the scene about bheem carrying ram in the climax sequence may seem a bit overemphasized, but even earlier in the film in dosti song there was a shot giving easter eggs, where we can see jr ntr doing squats on the ground lifting ram charan, then ram charan does pull ups holding a tree branch, this way rajamouli is planting an idea subconsciously to his audience that jr ntr got lower body strength n ram charan got upper body strength... So that audience get convinced during the climax scene where bheem carries ram... Even the scene seems physically impossible, rajamouli never hesitates to show his ideas n imaginations in the mostmost convincing way possible, that scene may be impossible but u could never find any other director pulling of such a scene in any film like rajamouli... Respect....
    8) The same way In climax fight sequence bheem lifting a bike looks over the top for sure, but do u know those bikes were actually used during second world war time so that in any unforeseen situation during war the soldiers can actually carry the bikes, those bikes weight around 55kgs only, i agree that even 55 kg bike travelling at 50kmph velocity is difficult to be lifted... But look at the way it was imagined, presented, picturized, the mesmerising cinematography in that scene, the kind of goosebumps it gave us, we should watch the movie for its epicness, rather than being nitpicky about everything....
    9) At the climax that transformation of ram charan🔥🔥, many people thought that was sree ram's avatar, there are many indian purana's references to the movie for sure but its not only sree ram's avatar, it is also about the original look of Alluri seeta rama raju (the freedom fighter ram charan was playing), alluri seeta rama raju in history was well learnt man who wears those kashayam clothes fights with bow n arrows, probably the best archer india has ever had, he fought against britishers he got weapons n guns by attacking police stations n british camps, he used the same weapons to attack britishers with his trusted men... Even he was shot dead bybritishers in the freedom struggle... Legend says that britishers put around 100 bullets in his body n ruthlessly killed him... At the end of the film rajamouli showed ram n bheem in their original looks ram wearing kashayam clothes, with long hair n beard, bheem with a pagdi on his head n those clothes gond people used to wear...
    10) the final RRR fact, For the interval sequence with animals rajamouli shot for around 65 nights, each night they spent around 75lakhs for the shoot itself... In that interval sequence they had to imagine animals were there n fight accordingly, for that to happen n so that each n every background artist to be in sync with the CG animals rajamouli employed different tactics while shoot
    a) for bear they used a person wearing green blanket, since the movement of bear is slow similar to a human being...
b)For shots with tiger, tiger moves much faster than humans, so they can't just place a human with green blanket, so rajamouli positioned laser lights following the head position of the tiger, so that camera man n actors can imagine the position of tiger n act accordingly.
    c) for wolves they used dogs which were trained to catch a ball, while shooting the sequence they randomly throw the balls in middle of men, so the dogs chase the balls, in that way rajamouli captured peoples reactions to wolves, later on during CG he replaced the dogs with wolves...
    d) for other fast moving animals like deers, they used remote controlled cars moving in between the actors....
    n many more...

Watch Kaithi first and after that watch Vikram because both are part of the same cinematic universe. Yep, like MCU and DCEU in Hollywood, Tamil film industry now has a cinematic universe too. We call it LCU - Lokesh Cinematic Universe, and it consists of these two movies 'Kaithi' (2019) and 'Vikram' (2022). The director of both movies is 'Lokesh Kanagaraj' so the LCU was given by us fans.
