  • Hi everyone! I am so late to this movie but as they say better late than never! RRR was such a wonderful movie, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with the story the characters and the music. All the songs in this movie are played on repeat in my home. S.S. Rajamouli truly has a gift and I cannot wait to see more of his films.

I've never seen anyone fail to be hugely entertained by this film, but I feel like the emotions are played so BIG in such a culturally specific way that it doesn't resonate for everyone. But that's so much of what I love about it, everything feels so grand and so earnest. Didn't realize how much I needed a blockbuster that plays its emotions straight and has such creative action. Really glad to see you felt the same.

RRR reaction videos for me are a way to vicariously make new connections on the film through the way other people process the film in real time. The ending song shows the various freedom fighter who gave their life for freedom from various parts of India. Its awesome the director showed the tribute to them in such a way.
The character of ram is inspired from the real freedom fighter alluri seetaaraamaraju and bheem character is inspired from real life of komram bheem. They never met in real life but their approach for the goal of freedom used to be different and as per history they left their homes at same time and returned back after three years. There was no actual historical reference of what exactly happened during that time.
So the director took the liberty of making a fictional story in that time period and assuming they met. The director implemented their real life character traits of both those freedom fighters in a larger than life canvas
Komram bheem used to sing folklore songs to inspire the people of his village. Love the way how the director implemented his character trait during the flogging scene.
Similarly for the alluri seetha rama raju who used to have the attire of orange robe with bow and arrows similar to Lord ram and there are many such instances of their traits being potrayed

    continued 2
    Nutshells of RRR movie
    6) In a scene where they show the security measures of the palace they had 2 doors at entrance, only after closing the 1st door they will open 2nd door, if we observe both the doors clearly and also if we listen to the creek sounds of both doors, we would know the outer door is a wooden one, and the inner door is a metal one, so to rescue malli they can break the outer door but they can't break the inner door, that's the reason y the character jhangu climbs a tree and listens for the 2nd door to open to rescue malli in interval scene... Every small detail in this movie is well planned and well executed...
    7) the scene about bheem carrying ram in the climax sequence may seem a bit overemphasized, but even earlier in the film in dosti song there was a shot giving easter eggs, where we can see jr ntr doing squats on the ground lifting ram charan, then ram charan does pull ups holding a tree branch, this way rajamouli is planting an idea subconsciously to his audience that jr ntr got lower body strength n ram charan got upper body strength... So that audience get convinced during the climax scene where bheem carries ram... Even the scene seems physically impossible, rajamouli never hesitates to show his ideas n imaginations in the mostmost convincing way possible, that scene may be impossible but u could never find any other director pulling of such a scene in any film like rajamouli... Respect....
    8) The same way In climax fight sequence bheem lifting a bike looks over the top for sure, but do u know those bikes were actually used during second world war time so that in any unforeseen situation during war the soldiers can actually carry the bikes, those bikes weight around 55kgs only, i agree that even 55 kg bike travelling at 50kmph velocity is difficult to be lifted... But look at the way it was imagined, presented, picturized, the mesmerising cinematography in that scene, the kind of goosebumps it gave us, we should watch the movie for its epicness, rather than being nitpicky about everything....
    9) At the climax that transformation of ram charan🔥🔥, many people thought that was sree ram's avatar, there are many indian purana's references to the movie for sure but its not only sree ram's avatar, it is also about the original look of Alluri seeta rama raju (the freedom fighter ram charan was playing), alluri seeta rama raju in history was well learnt man who wears those kashayam clothes fights with bow n arrows, probably the best archer india has ever had, he fought against britishers he got weapons n guns by attacking police stations n british camps, he used the same weapons to attack britishers with his trusted men... Even he was shot dead bybritishers in the freedom struggle... Legend says that britishers put around 100 bullets in his body n ruthlessly killed him... At the end of the film rajamouli showed ram n bheem in their original looks ram wearing kashayam clothes, with long hair n beard, bheem with a pagdi on his head n those clothes gond people used to wear...
    10) the final RRR fact, For the interval sequence with animals rajamouli shot for around 65 nights, each night they spent around 75lakhs for the shoot itself... In that interval sequence they had to imagine animals were there n fight accordingly, for that to happen n so that each n every background artist to be in sync with the CG animals rajamouli employed different tactics while shoot
    a) for bear they used a person wearing green blanket, since the movement of bear is slow similar to a human being...
b)For shots with tiger, tiger moves much faster than humans, so they can't just place a human with green blanket, so rajamouli positioned laser lights following the head position of the tiger, so that camera man n actors can imagine the position of tiger n act accordingly.
    c) for wolves they used dogs which were trained to catch a ball, while shooting the sequence they randomly throw the balls in middle of men, so the dogs chase the balls, in that way rajamouli captured peoples reactions to wolves, later on during CG he replaced the dogs with wolves...
    d) for other fast moving animals like deers, they used remote controlled cars moving in between the actors....
    n many more...

I watched you react to The Sandman months ago and loved watching with you. I love your sensitivity and insights. I have a crush on Tom Sturridge, and now my crush is Ram Charan! I loved your review of RRR and when you cried, so did I. I've been deeply affected by Indian Cinema since I discovered RRR a few months ago. I can't wait til you watch some of Ram Charan's dance videos from his many awesome films. My favorite dance videos are Nellore and Rama Loves Sita. And there are many, many to choose from. And don't forget JrNTR who is fantastic in videos Temper and Pakka Local. I know you're getting lots of love and suggestions from the Indian fans about other films, actors and directors to watch. There's so much, you could do this full time! I can't wait to be along for the ride with you! Thank you for your wonderful reactions. 🙏🪷🇮🇳❤️‍🔥

I loved this movie, the first time watching this was with you and even before it started you were already smiling, I knew this was gonna be fun.
I love that line at the start about The Shepherd. When Venkat is asking for the release of Milla, he says her people have a trait "They like staying in herds like sheep, and even if one lamb goes missing, it causes them great distress. This is why the herd has a Shepherd. He protects the herd with his life."
He then tells them "The Shepherd will travel however far to retrieve the missing lamb. Be it morning or night, sun or rain, rocks, mountains, valleys, peaks... He will search every nook and corner. If he happens to find the lamb in the tiger's mouth, he will break it's teeth, pry it's jaws open and take the lamb back to its herd."
I loved when Ram helps Bheem talk to Jenny, I love it when Bheem thought her name was "Don't call me madam, it is Jenny yes." Ram then tells him it's just Jenny, and then Bheem says "Oh, Jenny." I love what you said "Oh Jenny, that could be a song."
That dance that Ram and Bheem did the Naatu Naatu was wild, Ram and Bheem are just great together, that scene must have taken a lot of work to film, but I bet they had a lot of fun doing it.
In the beginning we wondered why Ram did what he did, it all made sense when we saw him as a boy, of what happened to his family, his people. He's a good man doing bad things but for a great cause, it was for his people, for the woman he loves, to protect them. What he said to Seetha "I'm hurting the people whose freedom I'm fighting for."
That scene when Ram is about to whip Bheem and then the wind blows a leaf that gently graces the side of his face and then falls to the ground and lands in the water. Bheem then says "Bheema, the earth on which you were born, the trees which give you air to breathe, your Gond tribe which has given you a name, are all talking to you. Can you hear it?"
Later we see Ram talking to his uncle and he says "It has never been clearer to me. All this while, I was prepared to sacrifice anything for our country. I thought Bheem would also be one among them. But today I've realized Bheem is not merely a sacrificial lamb. He is a volcano. I was under the impression that guns would bring us freedom. But Bheem inspired everyone with just a song." He said his Father told him to give everybody a weapon, he then said "But Bheem's emotion turned each person into a weapon."
I love the scene when Bheem meets Seetha and he learns of Ram's story, of who he really is, he tells Seetha "I came for Malli. But your fiancee came for the land." He then tells her "Seetha shouldn't go looking for Ram. Ram should come to wherever Seetha is. I will bring him to you."
That scene at the end, I loved that shot of Ram with the Bow and Arrow, "Rama, the descendant of Raghu Lineage." And that shot of Bheem in the water with the spear was beautiful, "Bheema, the lion of the Komuram Clan."
At the end of the video you talked about the Light, I love when you do that, it reminds me of what you said once.
"Being that light for others, a candle can light another unlit candle. Light can be passed on. And also, one persons light can be enough to let everyone see through the dark."
I had so much fun watching this with you Imon, I can't wait to watch this again with you.

Awesome reaction!!!!! You are the first reactor of many reactors I have seen till now who catched the essence of the movie. The essence of the movie is the " STATUE OF THE GOD " that's shown at the end of the movie. You can ask any Indian why they go crazy for this movie and they will say one of the reasons is that showing of GOD backing up the freedom fighters who are fighting for the good. That god's name is LORD SRI RAMA. At the end of the movie, we will see some dialogues referring Lord Rama's life like Lord Rama comes to Maa Sita. In this movie also Ram comes back to Sita. Loved your reaction!!!

One of the BEST action movies with a SOLID story at its heart, for the last like 10 - 15 years. Yeah indian cinema (this was Tollywood as Im sure many pointed out) is 'over the top' but they lean towards spectacle while western movies lean more towards 'realism' (not the fast n the furious franchise of course lol). I write a lot of comments about how I love your laughter in the community reactions, but I really appreciated and felt your emotion in this movie, tears. There is another anti-colonial indian movie with Aamir Khan called 'Lagaan', if you haven't heard of it yet, I think you'd really enjoy it. Again, another fantastic reaction, thank you

1:00:54 - The god's name is actually Shree Ram, or just Lord Ram, which is also the hero's name. Ram and Sita are also a married couple in mythology, so this was a reference when Bheem promised that he would bring Ram to Sita.
Also, the song in the end credits was a kind of a tribute to other real Indian freedom fighters, with their pictures - I don't think their stories all be explained in a comment. To be honest, even I don't know much about them - I've never been good at history...
