For future reference you can call your hotel and ask for double rinsed linens. Let them know you have sensitive skin and they will most likely work with you. I'm a former housekeeper. The same goes for hospital stays.
When I decant thick products, I put some in a shallow dish then use a child's medicinal syringe to transfer it to a smaller tube/container. I also refill travel sized toothpaste from a larger tube by butting the nozzles together and gently squeezing from the full sized product into the smaller one. Much more cost effective than buying replacement travel sizes every time. After a couple of trips, I can toss the used tubes along the way and create a bit more room in my toiletry bag coming home.
You can get travel sized toothpaste for $1.25 at the Dollar Tree! There's really no need to go to all that trouble, when you can get them so cheap! But to each their own...…
It's nice to see how you did that! Your video is great! I found a video on youtube two years ago showing a woman taking a Korean skincare routine with (I want to say) 16 items, plus basic toiletries (Over 30+ products in all!) and reduce it down to a sandwich ziplock back using the same airless pump bottles, along with very small spray bottles. It featured so many different styles of small bottles/pumps/sprays. The video was genius, but I can no longer find it. I started doing this myself and it's the best. The airless pump lasts me a little over 2 weeks, at minimum. In order to get thick creams into the airless pumps I got syringes with no needles. (Like a baby medicine syringe). It was so much easier than a small funnel. I got a few because they were free from Walgreens or CVS, but they were worth the trip to run out to get!
This video was great. You really broke it down and made everything make sense. I was going to avoid as many liquids as possible but clarifying that it has to fit in that bag was very insightful so I can save money and decant them into smaller containers. Thank you!
I now use fragrance-free laundry detergent sheets for my regular laundry. For travel, I just put some in Ziploc bag. If you're sink washing, just use part of sheet. A whole sheet for a regular washer load. There are several brands that make this type of product but most have fragrance and I, like you, have sensitive skin and avoid fragrances. I found the brand Earth Breeze, which has both fragrance and fragrance-free versions. Plus it's super eco friendly.
I’ve finally met someone like me!! I have super sensitive skin and suffer from rosacea as well. Heat and synthetic sunscreens irritate my skin and cause heat rash. I love those little airless pump bottles and I use them to decant everything when I travel. Love this video….I hope all your products served you well and that you enjoyed your trip. Hugs from Mary in Florida🌺
FYI J&J baby shampoo is not gentle, it is quite high on the PH scale. The reason it is yellow, has that particular smell, and is marketed as no-tears, is because it has a numbing agent in it like the one your dentist uses so if the child gets soap in their eyes they won't feel it burning. Scary huh? I learned this in cosmetology school. It's possible they have changed the formulation but you might want to research it. 😮
When shopping for a new clear toiletries bag, I came across comments that bags like yours are not accepted by some airports around the world, even though they're marketed as TSA approved. They are larger than one quart. They may seem the right dimension H x W, but the gusset makes it larger depth-wise.
For the thick creams I bought the small stackable clear tubs. They come with a lot, but I use maybe 3 or 4 and they top cap is the only cap, the rest of the tops screw into the bottom so they’re neatly stacked and easier to put thick products in or get them out. I love all travel videos and I hadn’t seen one that takes as much as I do in that same type TSA bag. Most are RUclipsr travelers that travel full time with no makeup and are what I’d call more minimalist girls than me. 👍🏼😊

My daughters and my hubby also have very sensitive skin. For vacation i use Sheets laundry sheets. They are dehydrated sheets like fabric softener sheets. Wonderful for Travel and they come in unscented and uncolored.
Im glad I accidentally came across this video it was a pleasant to watch. I do have a tip since I have extremely sensitive skin as well. I have to bring my own travel sheets and super thin microfiber towels with me when I travel because of rashes ans allergies. Its worth the room it takes up in your bag to not have to deal with fussy skin when you just want to enjoy a trip.
We travel with my sheets, pillow, pillowcase, towel, washcloth. It's seems like alot but we put them in 1 Compression bag & vacuum all the air out to make flat. It works great for us.
Lisa, I travel with a very small refillable bottle of baby shampoo that I believe came in a set of baby products in the baby dept at Walmart. Easy to refill with small funnel. I have used it on many trips over the years!
I got in the habit of "deep" cleaning my lashes when I had lash extensions a few years ago. I really need to let it go at this point because I'm sure all the over cleansing of the lashes I have left is not a good thing for me. 😉
I was smiling when you were trying to fill the thicker liquid into the small tube and I thought you could do the thing you thought to do. I would have blown and then thought.. oh maybe that's not too hygienic but then too bad, it got it into the tube. hahaha. I enjoyed this video and you have given me food for thought. I go away often on weekends and I don't really need to lug my big face foundation etc with me. Those small tubes you have would be great to take with me. Thanks for this.
I'm like you! I wish I had packed more unscented bar soap for our long term travels. It's easy to find bar soap, but so difficult to find unscented versions! I also pack mostly solid toiletries, which makes it much easier. 🌺✈️ Heidi
Hope you both had a good flight. Would be good to do a follow-up vid when you get back with what you did not need to take as they sold them there and the ones that you could not find in the big malls in the LoS. I am sure future travellers would appreciate that. I know you will have done copious amounts of research but I also think you maybe surprised with the reality when you are there. Have a great holiday.
The problem with buying toiletries there, is that 1) you need transportation to the store 2) you need to take time from vacation activities and possibly bother your fellow travelers to run that errand. For makeup remover and eyelash wash could saturate cotton circles and put in a ziplock. They now become like wipes that don’t need to go in the liquids bag at all.
Also, so relate to the cranky skin. One of the things I've done is I buy baby wash/shampoo. I use this as my face cleanser, shampoo and body wash. I think it was CeraVe or Cetaphil that even makes a fragrance free one. But I find the Aveeno one fine for me despite the fragrance. I wonder if this would work for you, since you like baby shampoo for your lashes.
I totally relate this video. I have sensitive skin too. It's hard not to travel with your favorite things. We leave for Thailand in 5 day, can't wait to get back there.
Lisa, thank you for this wonderful video! Your skin sounds just like mine! I wish I could make out the product names of all products shown in this video. Will you please reply to this comment or create another video with the detailed info you gave about which products are specifically for your face & chest? These are my “cranky” skin areas, too! I’d love to try the CereVe cleanser your skin likes but which one is it?

You can buy small packets of tide detergent that are easy to pack.

In this video they are the 5ml. I have since purchased the 15ml and they are also fantastic! Here's a link if you want to check them out: amzn.to/3zwuDno
I have tried the shampoo and conditioner but it wasn't a good fit for my hair. I didn't know they offered so many other options. I will check that out. Thank you! 🙂
Hi Laurie! I definitely know I need to decant a lot of my products, do you find it difficult to clean out the pump bottles for the next trip or to you just keep refilling them with the same product?
Hi Nicole - great question! They are very easy to clean. Obviously the top comes off (I soak them in warm soapy water then pump clear water thru them to rinse) but the bottom stoppers come off the bottles as well. This makes them super easy to clean. I use a straw brush. Thanks so much for watching - I appreciate you being here 😃😃😃
Hi Lori! Thanks so much for your video. I'm definitely a carry-on-only type of traveler as it's made my life so much easier while on vacation. Of course that means spending more time preparing and working that puzzle! Your video is very helpful. I'm considering purchasing a liquids bag like yours; however, I keep seeing that people occasionally run into issues while traveling abroad as some international airports don't recognize these bags. Have you run into any issues?
I have used these bags all over North America and Asia with no problem at all. I've heard some people have had a problem in the UK. I am traveling to Europe later this year with these bags. If I encounter a problem I will update this for sure! Thanks so much for being here! 😃
Hi Lori! I have cranky skin too…we too the Tide free pods with us to Egypt 2 yrs ago & the hotel used them for our laundry 👍🏼 Also can you tell us the brand for the lotion bar, please? The link takes us to the Neutragena sunscreen bar. Thank you!
Uh oh - I'm sorry about that. Here is the link to the lotion bar amzn.to/3yNOcYy Thanks for the tip about the laundry detergent! I am going to try that next week when I'm traveling 😉
No problemo!! Thank you for the link 👍🏼 Also Target & HyVee (grocery store locally) have travel size J&J baby shampoo too in case you are still on the hunt for them 😁 Happy travels!!
I didn’t know there’s a solid lotion bar. How do you like it? I recently discover shampoo and conditioning bars, and my whole family loves them. We wouldn’t go back to shampoo bottles anymore. Not only are they good for the environment, but good for our hair too.
The lotion is a bit different in that it takes longer for my skin to absorb - but I do like it. I hope the shampoo & conditioner brand I use comes out with a solid form soon. I would love that! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you for sharing, as I watch you I believe I need to reassess my skin care regime because the Texas heat is brutal on my skin, constantly itching and irritating. This helps me. Where did you purchase the small tubes? And label maker. Great video

Great video! Quick question. Where did you get your phone case from? It looks really protective. I’ve been looking for something that hugs the screen and it looks like yours does.

Of course 😊 Each evening I first remove mascara with regular makeup remover and then wash my lashes with the baby shampoo to prep them for my lash serum and lash oil. Then in the morning I wash them with the baby shampoo again to remove any residue from the serum or oil to prep them for mascara. I fully admit I am "extra" about my lashes.🤣 🤣 🤣

Lori, could you please tell me what size carry-on toiletry bag that is? I bought a set of two carry-ons bags from Amazon and the larger one is 9"×6", which is TSA approved and holds a lot! Yours looks to be that size.
HI Karen - I have had so many questions about the containers that I made a video about them. It is coming out on Saturday at 6pm. All the links to all the different containers will be there. Thanks for being here 😊
You need to put your toiletries very carefully. Use a funnel with a large radius but with a small hole (3/8” diameter) so that none of your liquids will pour out. Thank you so much!
Great video! I have rosacea & have to bring specific items too. Can you link the products you use as well as the substitutions? If you already have please let me know how to find it lol. Thank you!!!!

Love your video. Where did you get your airless containers?
Thank you 😊 I got them from Amazon. They are linked in the description box below the video if you want to check them out. Thank you for being here 🙂
Love your ideas! Could you please add links?
Thanks so much 🙂 I've updated the description box with links. I appreciate you being here!
Loved the video. Great job with the editing!
Thanks so much! Editing is by far the hardest part 😊
Great video!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for watching 😃😃😃
Can you let us know where to buy the label maker or the brand. Thanks. Enjoyed!!
Hi Halina - here is a link to the label maker. I've had mine more than a year now and it still works great! Thanks so much for being here 🙂🙂🙂
Would love to know which mascara you showed. I cannot see the name. Thank you! ❤
It is Lancome Hypnose Drama, it is the best for me!
Very good 👍 I always take laundry soap with me too. Thanks 😊
Yay! Thank you for watching 🌸
Can’t wait to see more. How did the containers from Amazon work out?
I love them! They are perfect 🤩
For some reason, if you lay the bottles in the bag horizontally, you can fit more in.
Yes! I've recently learned this and it is working so well! Thank you for sharing 😁😁😁
Have you tried using your face wash on your eyelashes? I have very sensitive eyes but this works for me. It would be one less thing to take.
I have but I didn’t feel like it worked as well for me 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks so much for watching - I appreciate you being here 😃😃😃
Can you share what mascara you use?
Of course 😀 My daily go to is Lancôme’s Hypnose Drama but I love all of the Lancome formulas
There are small funnels for easy filling. Surprised you didn’t think of that.
😂 right?!? I even have 3 😂
A little tip for the funnel for next time, because this is an issue I face with my spices is just gently stir it with a little toothpick
Smart! Thank you 😉
Love thes mascara too🤩
It is amazing isn't it! I need a lashes emoji 😂
Hi Lori thank you for all the tips with the carry on bag. You are probably getting a bit excited you haven't got long to go.
We’re finally here now 😎 thank you for watching!
Here is the link to the lotion bar amzn.to/3yNOcYy
Thanks for the tip about the laundry detergent!
Thanks for watching :)
so lip balms and cleansing balms do not have to be in a TSA bag?
They do not. They are considered solids. 😊
Thank you for sharing, as I watch you I believe I need to reassess my skin care regime because the Texas heat is brutal on my skin, constantly itching and irritating. This helps me. Where did you purchase the small tubes? And label maker. Great video
Hi Pinki - the small tubes and label maker are both from Amazon. here is the link to the airless pump tubes: amzn.to/3Avtddh and here is the label maker: amzn.to/3wA8fce . I hope you like them as much as I do! You are right about Texas heat! It is rough on a lot of us 🙂
@@The.LifeWithLori thank you so much for sharing. I am still packing for my next road trip
Great video! Quick question. Where did you get your phone case from? It looks really protective. I’ve been looking for something that hugs the screen and it looks like yours does.
Hi Joie - The wrap around feature of this phone case is what I love most about it. Here is the link: amzn.to/3Y0C54v Thank you so much for being here 😃😃😃
@@The.LifeWithLori Hello, thank you for the quick response. The Amazon link shows a clear case that doesn’t hug the phone. Did I make a mistake? Your phone in the video has a clear case?
@@joie8422 I made the mistake - I'm sorry. The clear case is the one I'm using now. Here is the link to the pink one I was using before amzn.to/41rB1cK
@@The.LifeWithLori No worries. Thank you so much! ❤
What is that cute lable maker you are using? Looks easy and great.
It is so easy and I love it. Here is a link to it: amzn.to/3cUIs7s
Thank you for the tips!! Can you link the little pump bottles please? They would be super helpful for my upcoming trip!!
Of course 😉 I hope you love them as much as I do! www.amazon.com/dp/B08P8GTGTG?
Thank you so much!! I haven’t traveled in so long and your videos have been so helpful 😊
Can you explain the lash washing versus removing mascara? I have never heard of using baby shampoo. I generally just remove mascara with wipes.
Where can we find the pump bottles and the label maker you are using?
HI Ashley - here is a link to the pump bottles: amzn.to/3qHlMv5 and here is the label maker: amzn.to/3dhlAQc Thanks so much for being here ☺
Hi where’s the link for the bottles your using?
Hi there - links to all the products I used can be found in the description of this video: ruclips.net/video/9_fiOW1XEyg/видео.html Thank you so much for being here :)
In most UK airports, you are required to put liquids in their own quart bags.
I’ve heard that and also that the bag cannot have any markings on it. Has that been your experience as well?
I was in the UK last summer and they made us take all our liquids out of our own bag and put them in their plastic quart bags. They were making travelers throw away what didn’t fit.
Great video. Where did u get the cute label maker?
Thank you - it is this one from Amazon: amzn.to/3RCYoKQ
I don't see a link for the 5ml air pump containers. Do you remember which ones you ordered from Amazon, and did they leak?
Hi Evette - here is the link to the bottles: amzn.to/3iKzIEk I love them! However, the one I filled with my hair oil did leak the slightest little bit. Thank you so much for being here 🌞
Whew can i buy the airless pumps?
Here is the link: amzn.to/3NNgwkZ There is a bit of a learning curve to get them to work but once you've got it you will be so happy with them. Let me know if I can help 😊
Did you have a hard time with the cleansing balm? I keep reading that its considered a liquid, please let me know! Thank you :)
I have had no issue at all. I’ve flown all over North America and SE Asia with it and all is well 😉
@@The.LifeWithLori Oh good to know! I am heading to SEA next week haha debating if I should do a check in bag or carry on!
@@patricialing have fun!
Lori, could you please tell me what size carry-on toiletry bag that is? I bought a set of two carry-ons bags from Amazon and the larger one is 9"×6", which is TSA approved and holds a lot! Yours looks to be that size.
Mine is exactly that size as well 😉
@@The.LifeWithLori that's good to know. I need one that size when I go to Europe this fall!
Hi can I bring 8fl oz / 236ml jar is it allowed?
My understanding is that it depends on the content of the jar. However something that size would generally only be allowed in a checked bag.
I don’t see a link for the little bottles. Where can I find it? Ty.
Here it is: amzn.to/3CYGmyq Thanks so much for watching 🙂
Hey Lori, would you link your little bottles and label maker? I would love to check them out.
HI there - I need to update this video. I have much better technique now 😂 Thanks so much for being here with me - I appreciate you!
you need a funnel, dear!! They do make really narrow ones! That might help you next time.
I eventually went and got one 😊
@@The.LifeWithLori great video by the way!!!! I have to carry special products as well. Your skin looks beautiful, BTW.
You could have replaced the liquid laundry detergent with a solid version?
YES! I didn't know that at the time but I have figured it out since. Maybe I should make an updated video...🙂
Great video! I have rosacea & have to bring specific items too. Can you link the products you use as well as the substitutions? If you already have please let me know how to find it lol. Thank you!!!!
Hi Veronique - I don't have specific products listed anywhere as it is so very different from one person to another. I feel like I've spent half my life in a trial and error phase 😉
I cannot locate your link to the label maker????? It looked fantastic. I learned so much from this video. Thank you. 😍
uh oh - here it is: amzn.to/3DjsCPa I love this label maker 💜
@@The.LifeWithLori So grateful for your generous spirit! Thank you.
New subscriber, you just made it irresistible
Yay! Thanks so much for being here Pinki 😊
You could also swap the liquid Persil detergent with a powder Persil detergent my mom and dad use the powered one and it is really good.Plus it is not a liquid
That's great 🙂 I didn't know there was a powder verdion. I need to try it 🤗
How do you clean the airless up,p containers?
Hi Analissa - I take them apart and use a brush made to clean straws. I hope this helps! Thanks so much for hanging out here with me 🌻
Thank you for replying
If you have sensitive skin and rosacea using unscented product’s would be best.
I know...it is a struggle. I have picky irritable skin and I love all the things that smell pretty 🌸🌸🌸
You dont need to put hr contact solution in the liquid bag it counts as medical exemption
Yes 😉 I didn’t know this when I made this video but do know. I need to make an updated video. Thank you for being here 😁😁😁
