I was once delayed on a flight, and had just a few minutes to get all the way across Heathrow for my connecting flight. I literally ran all the way, and was screened on arrival at my gate. I was sweaty and anxious, and they picked up on it. They took EVERYTHING out of my bag, even checking between the pages of the book I'd brought for my flight. Fortunately, the plane waited for me and I made the connection. :)

Pay the $85 for 5 yr TSA PreCheck. No unpacking of computer devices or shoes. Much less hassle.

Passports are not your property. At least in most countries. They belong to the issuing state. This favt is even written in the passport.

If you travel with backpacks you use often, empty them entirely before an airport trip, so you are not unpleasantly surprised that the x-rays detected a knife, fork or corkscrew you used last weekend.

If you've ever carried a gun or ammunition in a backpack be sure to launder it before going through TSA security.

From my understanding you can carry your passport walking thru the scanner. Feel free to correct me if I have the wrong info

I've been traveling for more than 16 years now, and I actually like walking barefoot through security checkpoints. I also like to eat beans the day before travel so I can be very gaseous at security, AND on all legs of flight. What's your experience with this?

One of the great comments here is that the screeners are not law enforcement officers, even though they want you to believe this. In fact the TSA had the name of the position changed from "screener' to "TSA Officer". Why, because the screeners said they were not be respected by the traveling public. Although they may wear a badge, sewn on to their outer garment, they are not law enforcement officers, they cannot arrest you or physically detain you...that's right, they do not have the authority to put hands on you...that's why the narrator saiid, the TSA calls the local police to handle situations needing LEO's

I’m 77 with metal throughout my left leg. They ALWAYS pull me aside and feel every inch of my body. This is after I’ve told them and I have a medical letter. I’m so DONE. Trains are better

this will sound picky and I am sorry but...we travel Princess mostly. We are also people that use our staterooms a lot. Consequently we use room service a lot. And the room service food is awful. I was sick for ten days on my last cruise and was forced to eat room service food. Not only was it very limited but it was poorly made and thrown together. eg: twice I ordered chef salad. The first time was pretty good...on lettuce was ham, turkey, cheese and egg. Second time it was lettuce and about a tablespoon of cheddar cheese. That was it. The sandwich bread was so dry you would choke on it.. I wish they would fix it.

If you have tsa precheck you can leave your coat on, leave your shoes on, and leave the small bag of liquids in your bag.
