- Honda provides a pair of handy 12V option plugs. These plugs have their own 7A breaker and are also after the main relay, so power turns on and off with the key. This video shows how to use them.
That's a great and useful video. I tried getting the parts from the Calgary AB Honda dealership and although they could see the plug on their computer they claimed there was no part. So I came back to the internet and found the Honda Reference numbers Honda 07VPZ-002040A that's a hole plug with crimp and plugs. For just the crimp Honda 07JAZ-00180A for just the wire water seal plug its Honda 07JAZ-001100A
Just a heads up to other riders, apparently this part number is a Honda Automotive number and although the parts are the same you wont find this part number in a Honda Motorcycle dealer. When I showed them this part number they got all confused. LOL. I havent been able to locate the part number that is motorcycle specific. Unfortunately where i am in the Philippines there is no Honda car dealer. I will simply buy the generic MT090 parts online.
Chris, thank you so much for making this video. You saved me a bunch of time and hassle!
Steve, thanks for the nice comment! I'm glad it was helpful!
Hi. I installed the USB charger using the accessory socket and followed the video. However, turning the power off does not turn of the charger. What am i doing right?? Thanks
Thanks for sharing ur awesome video 😊
Excellent Chris ! I've just discovered mine (CBF1000F) has a 6P options connector too... i just need to discover where it's hidden... and i'll have an "Honda" accessories cable ready for accessories (in mine it has 12V, GND from BAT and 12V after ignition...just perfect) Thanks for sharing. Great video. Please keep posting content about CB500f.

Good day Chris. The display of my motorbike is on even with the switch off. Do you know the reason? Could you tell me please?
This is so helpful! I also live in Japan, have a CBR400R, but I had no idea how to tap into the bike's accessory power. Now I just gotta take a trip to Naps to pick up these things. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!!!
Here is where I bought the crimp connectors.
It comes with a housing, but you don't need it.

Can i know how do i connect 2 fog lights and a switch to this connector.
Yes, with the help of Chris I just connected two LED spot lights with a switch on the handlebar and a fuse on my cb500X
Do you have a link where you sourced these parts? Thanks
Thanks Chris! Please see the comment I left for the previous video you made on this topic. It would be great to see the final product with devices connected.
hi chris may I know the size of the male pin you have a link?
Do all hondas have this. More specifically the uk spec cbf500?
THe "options connector" it's not officially documented (not in the user guide, nor in the ws manual) I found it for my bike only shown on the wiring diagam
Hi... my Benelli has 2 of these plugs, I intend to use one of them to power up a pair of LED spotlights. Question - where can I find those yellow seals? What are they called exactly?
I'm not an expert on connectors, but it seems that the MT, HM, and HW series of sealed 090 connectors all use the same male and female crimps and should include the rubber seals. They seem to be standard for Japanese bikes and autos and as such it wasn't hard for me to find them at an auto parts store here in Tokyo. I did a quick search on Amazon and found this: a.co/8s3OdGy . It's a bit pricey if all you need is the crimps though...
Honestly you're a life saver. I've spent my morning trying to figure out how to connect my camera and other future things to the bike without bodging it or cutting other wires. This is exactly what I want.
For now I'm going to wire it in directly to that plug, but my long term plan is to install a custom fusebox for easier future mods
A custom fuse box is exactly what I did too! Good luck with your project!
Hi, Thank you. Very helpful. A couple questions: what is the purpose of the grease? Does it make sure the plug is sealed w/ no slivers for water to get through? Also, what kind of grease did you use ?
+thehalbie Exactly. The grease is just to help keep water out. It may not be necessary. I used a lithium multi-purpose grease, but to be honest, I don't know what the most appropriate grease is for this application.

Hi chris do you have the exact part no for the mt090 crimps I cant seem to find it
Try the numbers that Vic gave in his comment:
"Honda Reference numbers Honda 07VPZ-002040A that's a hole plug with crimp and plugs. For just the crimp Honda 07JAZ-00180A for just the wire water seal plug its Honda 07JAZ-001100A"
Can I switch the fuse with a 15 amp fuse and run a heated jacket liner, heated gloves, and a pant liner.
Hey Luis. First of all, let me say that I'm not a mechanic, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
15 Amps is pretty high and the accessory wire is not so thick so I imagine you might risk burning the wire or connector somewhere. If the installation instructions for your heated gear include an option to connect directly to the battery, you might want to consider that.
A word of caution, you might want to start your bike before powering your heated gear to make sure the battery has enough juice for your starter before using it for accessories. After that the alternator should prevent the battery from being run down.
15 Amps is pretty big though. There might be a chance that the alternator won't keep up with the load and you might lose charge in your battery. Something to look into.
Okay thank you I’ll just use the accessory to power a relay and stick the mains to battery to relay
Thanks for sharing. I think the correct way to crimp is with the water seal also crimped at the top of the terminal?
Yeah, could be... I'm not an expert, just posting what I did hoping it will help somebody else
Thanks I found it helpful.
thank you!
