  • In this video, Phil goes over the importance of shooting drills, as well as some examples of the drills the Storm Riders do at every drill session we have.
    We start off with warmup drills from 10m (30ft) away and we do:
    Single shot ready-up drills
    Controlled pair ready-up drills
    Target transition drills
    Then we move to 20m (60ft) and do the same drills as above.
    Finally, we finish off with moving and shooting drills.

    Very nice video and information! I usually watch UF PRO videos about 1 man room clearing, slicing corner, etc and then practice it at home wearing only my battle belt, my Glock 17 and my m4 (no mag of course)
    I would usually start in my garden and enter through back door and just work my way into each room while applying all the techniques to room clearing
    When my parents are out and no ones home, I would then set up cardboard targets holded up by wood and place them randomly in rooms and behind doors, objects, etc, cover up all the fragile items like putting sofa mats over the tv, placing glass objects under tables, etc, then go and stay outside for awhile to make myself "forget" about the targets then go in and clear the house with loaded mags

    Man, you crazy Canucks take this seriously.
    And damn it, you should. If you really love doing something, even if it’s running around in camo shooting people with toy guns, you should take it seriously.
    I really enjoy your videos; keep ‘em coming.

    This is funny. I've just watched a video from another channel about trainig... As I commented on that video I believe physical training is maybe more important than tactical drills. Plus, training without opposition does not make you 100% profficient, since you don't know how you will react will attempting all of this while being shot at. Still, very good topic for a discussion and cool drills. Respect from Argentina.

    • @StormRiders
      @StormRiders  6 лет назад +1

      Training takes on many different forms and no single one will solve all your training needs. Shooting drills cannot replace physical training drills in terms of building muscle and increasing endurance, nor can they replace force-on-force training or games. We've never said that players should do one and not the others, but rather we want to educate players on how they can get the most out of each type.
      We do have another video on physical training as well.
      Thanks for the feedback!

      Totally agree. You can look tacticool af shooting static targets, even when you run to different positions but its another story when someone is shooting back and you have to move, dodge and reacquire the target, and also stress reload when the target is advancing on you. Nice

      I’m not yet old enough to play in my country so while I wait I am doing a lot of pushups and other upper and lower body strength at a local gym so I will be able to carry a good g&g rifel I lov show people know this isn’t like call of duty and you have to do physical labor so it adds to realisim

    Hey guys, great video. I've been following you for a while, and I'm using SoMo of your tips into ours training sessions.
    question: what kind of drills are you doing for DMR and Snipers?

    • @StormRiders
      @StormRiders  5 лет назад +1

      Our team does not have specialized marksmen or snipers so we all train using the same drills.

    Kind of a random idea but to make the bbs nit bounce everywhere when you have limited space a trick i use is a shirt on a hanger. The bbs fall right down that way theres no bouncing arround or ricochets.

    • @StormRiders
      @StormRiders  2 года назад +1

      Good tip! Bonus points if you put something below it to catch the BBs!

    What is a terminator drill

    • @StormRiders
      @StormRiders  6 лет назад +1

      It has a few different names, but it's a type of shooting drill that involves shooting sequentially larger targets in shorter amounts of time. For example, a 3 inch target in 2 seconds, a 6 inch target in 1.5 seconds, etc.

  • @tommytuomaala9087

    You show a most of exersises stationary in one spot. Arent most contact made on the moive?

    • @StormRiders
      @StormRiders  6 лет назад +1

      Tommy Tuomaala Most of the time, you will be stationary while engaging targets, at least in our experience.
      Regardless, the purpose of these drills is not to recreate combat conditions, but to engrain certain motions into your muscle memory.
      You can certainly spend some time doing drills that recreate combat conditions (targets that move, targets that shoot back) but the bulk of your drills should, in our opinion, be static ready-up drills.
