Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

So handy! It's a no nonsense, grab and go watch-enthusiasts watch that anyone can wear and enjoy. I also personally enjoy the bracelet and clasp which has gotten some criticism. Picked one up for $550 this week. I had a Polar Daytona for 2 years and sold it during the hype. This one serious scratches the inch for me. I think you nailed it. Reminds me of a 4 digit Cosmograph. I don’t mind the end links or bracelet at all. Fits my 6.5 in wrist perfectly. Wears like my BB58. Date window is my only quibble. Set too deep because of the solar batteries. Question, the mini dials looks blue instead of black. Is it blue or is it black? I’ve literally looked at every review online, every site and on one photo it appears as black, others as blue.
@@GrumpyDK821 the subs are are black but each has a single blue/purple line where the solar charging panel is located. On the left it’s a blue line at 9 o’clock in that sun dial. On the right it come toward the center from 3 o’clock and on the bottom one it comes up from 6 o’clock. It’s covered in one of the deeper dive videos. On a day to day they aren’t super visible unless you are in direct sunlight. I quite like them.
It's sooooo good to finally see Seiko on your store! I hope your store becomes even more successful! Thank you so much for all the knowledge and information that your share with us!
When I finally sat down to write out exactly what I wanted from a small collection, the SSC819 magically appeared as one of the only options that fit in well at nearly any price point. The Hanhart 417 is another at an entirely different price point. Suppose I will have to get both.
I have owned the white dial for about 7 months and absolutely love it. Fit is better than I expected on my 7.25 inch wrist. The Bracelet is really comfortable. I own several much more costly, luxury mechanical watches and this is a pleasure to throw on and know the time is accurate no matter how long I keep it in the drawer. I’ve seen posts where people say the ‘fuel gauge’ isn’t accurate and while I’ve not really tested it, I tend to agree. Never seems to move off of ‘Full’ regardless of how long it’s kept in the dark. I was able to get this watch for a little over $500- so consider this a bargain. I do wonder what happens when the solar charging mechanism dies- is it repairable or just a non- working piece of jewelry? Curious if anyone knows. Thanks for the extensive review and close up shots- I didn’t know it looked that good!
I just picked one up here in Australia for 690 (430USD), but I got the new 911P with a silver dial, and red seconds hand. It’s been amazing. On the subject of power reserve though, I did find that mine was at halfway until I wore it outside for a couple of hours. It’s probably just so easy to charge and has such a high capacity that you never notice a drop.
@@Psyopcyclops. Thanks Jim. Love the 911p as well. Perhaps you are correct- maybe it’s just that I haven’t sat it in a dark space for long enuf to let the power reserve wind down. Enjoy your great new timepiece.
So as an authorized dealer, does that mean that you inventory all the watches that Seiko makes? As an online dealer how do you handle your inventory. And how do you send watches to your clients? Do you simply drop ship them to the client? Or do you order them in, wait for them and then ship them direct to the client? I'm just curious how online sellers work. This came up as my family is in Cleveland and I was hoping to visit your store when I went to visit them. But now I know that your online only. And so how does this differentiate you between your operation and Amazon? With exception of having someone answer the phone talking direct to your clients how , do you handle the fulfilling the customer's orders.
@Teddy Baldassarre: It's funny when you mention quartz movement in that Seiko helps it to be thinner. It obviously mimics Rolex Daytona, which is mechanical and is 12.5mm thick vs almost 14mm for Seiko. I know these come with different price tags but Seiko is just way too thick for a quartz watch.
Teddy - this review was long overdue. Really wanted to hunt down a Speedy Marui, but the prices for those went insane the past few years then this popped up. Couldn't wait to get this watch when it came out. Put my name on the list at my local AD (for an 813) and waited for 4 months (this was very early 2022 - believe you can get much more easily now). Pros: Size is perfect; love pandas; not a Rolex. Cons: Wish the subs were all the same size; would pay up for a mechanical option (of the same size 39mm); not a fan of the date window (but Seiko loves them). I have 0.0 regrets on the purchase and get compliments on it. Another con is the bracelet - not bad, but not great. I have swapped for both a black and a cognac quick release leather strap. Strapcode has an bracelet if you want to upgrade that looks nice - but have not.
Just picked one up, so far it's a super comfy wear for my 6 inch wrist and the white dial perfectly fits the season. Compared to my cheaper Seiko watch the finishing on this bracelet is a lot nicer too.
Can’t beat gold polished Roman numerals that sparkle like jewels in the sunlight. Loving the sun ray dial man that pops! MAMACOO watches. What a beautiful subtle piece.
Bought one today and I’m absolutely in love with it! Specially because i was looking for a watch in the 38-40mm dial range. Its the best find in this size, with amazing features and looks at a great price!
Teddy, could you do a series where you look at a particular brand, and within that brand’s catalog, find ideal dive, dress, everyday, etc. watches? Think what could be found with Longines, Tissot, Hamilton, IWC, etc. Thank you.
Got the gold-faced model about a year ago. In typical Seiko fashion there were some minor QC issues (the power indicator/60 min timer just does not align, no matter what I do) but I still love it. It's an excellent "grab and go" and works for both casual and more formal settings - and with the 100m WR you can even take it to the beach!
The timer alignment (and, if it bugs you as much as it does me, the date window alignment), are why it’s best to inspect any watch in-store / in person . . . but I understand that that’s not always a possibility. Right now I’m tempted by the black titanium / green-dialed model for woods trails hikes but . . . I’m also saving for a Grand Seiko piece so . . . Having said that the Seiko ‘Daytona’ would be far more apposite to my preferred lifestyle (i.e., bored to death and not giving a sh*t about office work or dressing up for it anymore, but looking ‘woodsy’ on weekends). SBDL103 is the one I have an eye on, and the one in the shop features perfectly aligned appurtenances, rather unusually . . .
I was bought this watch by my daughter and her partner for my birthday, they know i love seiko but this watch is my 2nd favourite after the green seiko alpinist i love it.
I bought the panda dial shown here on an impulse and its never leaving the collection great watch looks amazing on bright red straps or nato or racing vlack leather strap live my speedtimer
After a great deal of research on sub $1000 chronos...I just acquired a model 813. I changed out the bracelet for a Barton leather rally and I am overall extremely pleased with this watch. If you can find a better chrono at this price...buy it.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from MAMACOO I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
You nailed it as always Teddy, I've had mine for a few months now. Very wearable without a doubt. Looks like a much more expensive watch for sure. Tride and true seiko quality. Can't beat the price for what it offers in the market with comparable pieces. Keep up great work.
I ordered the 813 initially but after much thought ended up getting the 909 limited edition with ice blue crystal dial instead. Absolutely love it coz it has a 6 month power reserve and never had to set the time yet so far. And i only paid 500 dollars after discount from the boutique. Congratulations on your partnership with Seiko!🍾🥂
What I wanted to add, the white dial Seitona is extremely rare to find. The SSC813 I bought last week was only slightly above the retail price of 675.- but my friend has paid a little more than 800.- because he didn't want to wait for subsequent deliveries. I am confident, that the watch will have a great value stability.
@@giovanniacconcia5584 congratulations on your 813! Sometimes i do wish i got the 813 but i usually avoid what majority go for that’s why i chose to go with the 909. Nevertheless it’s just an awesome watch!
@@kaizen168 the point is: with my ….. significantly more expensive daytona-inspired watch, it’s sometimes tricky when traveling or on the streets of southern europe or central america. So the Seitona fits very well as a daily watch!
Bought this as my first watch ever a couple months ago. It’s not too big and matches with everything. Low maintenance, doesn’t scratch too easy and I beat the shit out of it
I bought this a few months back, and it’s my favorite watch in the collections although it’s not automatic the sweeping movement is still nice ! And it being solar is still pretty nice!
I picked it up locally 4 months ago for 630 EUR in NL. Absolutely love and wearing it almost on a daily basis. Especially the size is great. What I do see is the bracelet is not on par with for instance the SARB series. For some reason that bracelet out of all my Seikos feels more soft and more premium finished.
Hi Teddy, fantastic review as always. I've had the sky blue dial model for a couple of months now and could not be happier with the purchase. This watch wears so well, really comfortable all day long. Have had a few comments regarding similarity to the Daytona, which isn't a bad thing!! Winter Speedtimer could well be the next purchase, amazing looking all-black watch.
I tried one of these yesterday while I was buying a new watch. I figured I had earned the right to try on a few others while I was waiting for a bracelet adjustment. It looks great, feels awesome on the wrist and I will likely be back for one. The idea of the much lower service cost of maintaining a quartz is something I hadn't really considered before. So this has moved up my list because for me, the 🐼 is such a good look.
Finding these currently in the US shipped including tax for under five hundred dollars, amazing deal for this watch. The gold panda dial and blue/black dial are the real sleepers here.
Ended up buying a very similar watch made by Tactical Frog. Essentially the same watch with unique faces and slightly different case profile. Was looking for a turquoise colored watch and for $200, it's been awesome. It rotates through with my other watches including multiple Seikos.
I bought this a few months ago. It is just amazing. The dimensions are phenomenal. The only drawback is its lume (if you can call that a lume....), apart from that, this must be the watch that attracts the most attention!!
The size is a winner on these things - tried switching out to other straps as it is a strap monster with those 20mm lugs but the bracelet is still the way to go. Definitely one of the best daily drivers and a get-and-go type of watch. Wears like a dream.
I own this model and it sits well with my other Swiss watches. This indeed is the closest thing to owning a Rolex Daytona panda. Spot on review Teddy. Keep the content coming. Kudos to you and your new partnership with Seiko.
I got this for Christmas this year, my friend looked at this watch and said, “ thats not a panda, its a Mickey Mouse.” Honestly I couldn’t argue with that argument. I love this watch on a leather strap, and its beautiful on a smaller wrist. Beautiful watch
Ive been binging on Teddy's videos lately on my way to purchasing my first "real" watch (at 47 no less). My first look into a watch started with a video in which teddy referred to the SKX007 and the smaller 013 to which I was drawn, but then realized that those were discontinued. Ive sort of lost the attraction to the diver watch and moved on to a chronometer and this Speedtimer looks like it wont disappoint on my 6.75" wrist. Ive looked long and hard at the Bulova Lunar Pilot but I dont want Flava Flav's watch on my wrist, lol. Im gonna pull the trigger, I think, on the black Speedtimer and cant wait! EDIT - Realized that the 3 o'clock dial is rather useless and not sure how to feel about that.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
i was looking for a chrono, i don't have one in my collection yest, so i pulled the trigger today on one of these; not the panda, but the sand one for 450 bucks. quite a bargain i believe.i could have gone the ectra length and get an automatic, but i find this v192 solar mech quite capable and intriguing. plus it fits my tiny wrist way better. cheers !
The even more budget seiko model is the seiko spirit chrono. They look even more like Daytona’s. I love the gold white dial version ( sbtr024 )as well as the reverse panda version ( sbtr013 )
I have the sand/yellow model. The color really stands out in my watchbox so I tend to grab it more often. What a great watch! I get lots of complements on it. Mazel tov, Teddy!
My 1960s omega speed professional, a gift from was step dad, was stolen. The black seiko ssc819 is pretty close and will keep me happy enough until I can afford a new/used omega to replace it. The seiko fits great. Wish it had a bit more adjustment in the strap, but it looks great on my wrist. Might pick up the panda version too
I’ve just bought the “Golden Panda” version second hand for much much less. I love it but there are a few niggles, mainly the bracelet with minimal micro adjust and lack of half links. My fit is either slightly loose or too tight. Otherwise after a week of daily wear I’m really happy with it. Cheers from Australia.
Congrats on the Seiko partnership! Been waiting for your review on this model. I’ll eventually get the Tudor BB Chrono but this looks like a great placeholder 👍🏽👍🏽
Nice Review!!!! I have this watch and like it a lot, but there is something I don't like from it, and that is that 24 Hr subdial at 3'. In mechanical watches, you have counters for minutes and hours, but this model can only count to 60 mins. My preferred watch is the Omega Speedmasster "Holy Grail" that I have since 1991 and has everything in their best positions- hours-mins-sec counters, 24Hr Indicator, Day/Date, Automatic, 165ft WR- for me there is no better watch than this one, and I own more than 120 Chronographs, including the original 6138/6138 Seiko Chronos from the 70s. Nothing else compares to the Speedmaster, maybe the Fortis or the SINN models compare to it, but now, those watches are over 5k apiece. I wish that Seiko, Citizen or Casio could make a Proper, full analog chronograph watch in Quartz. After all, they have the means and knowledge to do so.
$700 is a large chunk of change when converted to my nation's currency. however, i fell in love with the design, functionality, and overall value for money of this watch. also, i like that the dial isn't too big since i'm a girl and my wrist is smaller. i am currently eyeing the ssc915 prospex speedtimer as my first serious foray into buying a watch. i hope i made the right choice. thank you for the detailed and informative review!
I'm glad you did a video on this model, this looks like the kind of watch I would like - less than 39mm, only 45~mm lug to lug, and it's kind of a retro Seiko white dial design but with modern quartz / solar tech, and it has a sapphire crystal + Japanese movement.
Great piece.. now you've got me thinking about whether I should buy this one or a Tudor Back Bay Chrono to compliment my 20 year old Breitling Navitimer
I have a blue one... I love the finish on it. Honestly, feels more "refined" than my Hydroconquest. But I find it a little hard to read. The date window is really small. A cyclops would be nice. And the smaller dials are also hard to read. It might be the colours. The panda looks like it might have better contrast. I actually love the bracelet...again much nicer than the Hydroconquest. And I do very much enjoy your reviews. They really are incredibly objective.... which is rare nowadays.
Such a great watch...I will have to add it to my collection...another favorite under $1000 but at 49mm is the Vostok-Europe YM86-620C504...Dive watch with perpetual calendar and chrono and in an awesome yellow coloring....
I almost bought one of these for our class teacher (our class pooled in funds to purchase our homeroom teacher a gift), but I just thought that it wouldnt be as high of quality compared to other seiko offerings, but I didnt know that 3 months ago, but the watch we got him is still fantastic.

Well you a lucky duck to get this for $500 in my country seiko sells this for just above $1100 so might skip it
I just picked one up here in Australia for 690 (430USD), but I got the new 911P with a silver dial, and red seconds hand.
Man even some of Seiko's more affordable watches have some fantastic looking dials. Congrats
Seiko no question delivers some of the most visual interesting dials for the price.
@@TeddyBaldassarre And for some top Grand Seiko models, at ANY price.
I wish they have 41 mm dial 39 was so small for my hand
@@1982iniceman The new model is 41 mm
@@TeddyBaldassarre I appreciate you for seeing the value of the watch by not basing on the price.
Got the panda a month ago - really terrific watch!
Bought one today and I’m absolutely in love with it! Specially because i was looking for a watch in the 38-40mm dial range. Its the best find in this size, with amazing features and looks at a great price!
where to buy this now?
@@hnim2292 picked it up a few days ago at a local seiko shop.
Just an heads up: when battery is full, the hand indicates minute 46 (and not 45) because that's where the F is.
@@jagermaster1622 yeah, I did see this. My indicator points to about "45.5" when full, hence the issue 🤣
SBDL103 is the one I have an eye on, and the one in the shop features perfectly aligned appurtenances, rather unusually . . .
have you tried to align the hands with the specific order to push the buttons? when i doubt bring it to a seiko store.
I was bought this watch by my daughter and her partner for my birthday, they know i love seiko but this watch is my 2nd favourite after the green seiko alpinist i love it.
Got the 813 Seiko, love it at first sight. Love it when more on hands. It just looks pleasing !
@@kaizen168
the point is: with my ….. significantly more expensive daytona-inspired watch, it’s sometimes tricky when traveling or on the streets of southern europe or central america. So the Seitona fits very well as a daily watch!
@@giovanniacconcia5584 they’re easy to find now.
I wish that 909 came without that black center link on the bracelet
Bought this as my first watch ever a couple months ago. It’s not too big and matches with everything. Low maintenance, doesn’t scratch too easy and I beat the shit out of it
These watches are so incredible looking. I’m finding it hard to not start a separate Seiko collection with all these great releases 😂
May I ask where you picked it for 630 euro in the netherlands?
Just ordered my prospex with the blue face
Love MAMACOO watch,Such a great looking watch to match with the precisionist movement.
I own this watch with the blue watch face and red chrono dial. Super happy owning it. Nothing to complain about. Absolutely fantastic watch!
When people are saying MAMACOO is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
Finding these currently in the US shipped including tax for under five hundred dollars, amazing deal for this watch. The gold panda dial and blue/black dial are the real sleepers here.
Just snagged one of these for $390 off eBay. Seems like a great watch!
Absolutely in love with this watch. I got mine a few months ago and my favourite part is the wearability the size of this watxh is just perfect.
I just bought the panda. Wasn’t shopping, was an impulse buy. Love the look and size. Its my 5th Seiko. Love the brand.
Ended up buying a very similar watch made by Tactical Frog. Essentially the same watch with unique faces and slightly different case profile. Was looking for a turquoise colored watch and for $200, it's been awesome. It rotates through with my other watches including multiple Seikos.
I have the Black Dial version. Mine is a JDM version which has a product code beginning with SBDL.. Absolutely love it. It's a quality piece.
I bought this a few months ago. It is just amazing. The dimensions are phenomenal. The only drawback is its lume (if you can call that a lume....), apart from that, this must be the watch that attracts the most attention!!
Yeah the lume just doesn't take up a lot of surface area compared to the norm for Seiko.
Just got it yesterday as a birthday gift and it is an absolutely fantastic watch.
My solar that I have owned for years and years, has never stopped. Even If I had not used it for months.
I got this for Christmas this year, my friend looked at this watch and said, “ thats not a panda, its a Mickey Mouse.” Honestly I couldn’t argue with that argument. I love this watch on a leather strap, and its beautiful on a smaller wrist. Beautiful watch
Got the “Ice -Man “ trophy SSC909! And I love it ! Paid just under 700$ and got #2877/10000 numbered.Let’s Go Seiko
@teddybaldassarre2 thanks 🙏 Teddy
The 24h subdial is disappointing. Should’ve given us a 12-hour totalizer for the chronograph.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
I am in love with this watch, been looking at it for months now. Might pick one up today.
I own a SSC813P1 (white dial) and it's an amazing timepiece, and it even wears perfectly with a black/grey OMEGA Nato strap!
The one with the panda dial is absolutely amazing
i was looking for a chrono, i don't have one in my collection yest, so i pulled the trigger today on one of these; not the panda, but the sand one for 450 bucks. quite a bargain i believe.i could have gone the ectra length and get an automatic, but i find this v192 solar mech quite capable and intriguing. plus it fits my tiny wrist way better.
I like the watch I got from MAMACOO. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.
Strapcode Super-O bracelet will solve your problems, if you can get one.
I just tried it today in Cardiff,UK.Very nice watch, comfortable and well built.
Congrats on the Seiko partnership! Been waiting for your review on this model. I’ll eventually get the Tudor BB Chrono but this looks like a great placeholder 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you, my friend. If the Tudor is within reach keep saving. Otherwise, I think you will enjoy this one.
@@TeddyBaldassarre This is actually such a thoughtful response. Thanks for all your care and content Teddy.
@Arnaldo M Medina: Tudor Black Bay is thick like a brick.
Really, not a comparison to Swiss options. I can get an auto from Victorianox for less.

My dad had a couple of Breitlings, but his comparatively cheap and cheerful Seiko's from his years in Japan were his favourite.
Picked this one up over the summer. Even on my tiny wrist it looks great. Congrats on the Seiko deal!
I bought the 819 shortly after release and I've loved every second of it. I personally like the weight of it as it has some heft to it.
Literally just bought this watch over the weekend. So glad I got it, especially before you dropped this video because I got mine for a deal!
My only hesitation is the bracelet, but I guess it is an easy swap. Finally a review I trust
I own about 75 Seiko watches from all price ranges. Love every single one of them.....
Great watch. Got the black on black. Swapped out the bracelet for a NATO strap in mustard yellow and the thing looks badass.
Great piece.. now you've got me thinking about whether I should buy this one or a Tudor Back Bay Chrono to compliment my 20 year old Breitling Navitimer
Congratulations Teddy. Finally Seiko Watchers are now on your website.
Just bought this watch in the brown/champagne dial. Nothing better than getting this video in my feed after the fact. Loving the watch!
Thank you for making high quality videos!Love amzwatch ’s watches
Such a great watch...I will have to add it to my collection...another favorite under $1000 but at 49mm is the Vostok-Europe YM86-620C504...Dive watch with perpetual calendar and chrono and in an awesome yellow coloring....
Thank you for making high quality videos!Love MAMACOO watch
I almost bought one of these for our class teacher (our class pooled in funds to purchase our homeroom teacher a gift), but I just thought that it wouldnt be as high of quality compared to other seiko offerings, but I didnt know that 3 months ago, but the watch we got him is still fantastic.
Really like mine ... Only date placement is bit weird and I flipped the very average Seiko strap for a beads of rice strap to give it a vintage look
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see MAMACOO work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
