    Great video, what a nice cut with that flare mower. Thank you for sharing 😀

    Thanks for the video! Still haven’t been able to demo the flail mower deck. My Ventrac dealer did a great job getting my 4500K back up and running. I’ve put over 30 hours on it since they worked on it and no issues at all.
    I really enjoyed listening to the 4520N run. It sounds like a very smooth engine even when running it through the thick stuff. Look forward to the next video! 👍

    My 4520Z has been an awesome machine. Zero problems and plenty of power. The only real complaint is fuel consumption. It would be interesting to see a comparison. Serious increase in fuel mileage would be my only reason to consider a change.

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Год назад

      It does seem to have a bit more power. The fuel usage is better, But the Z models are a great machine.

    Always heard EFI engines give another 1 to 2 horsepower more than companies say they are. I would think it's running 33 to 34 horsepower along with the bigger hydraulic pumps. Wish I could demo one, I love my 4500Z! Thanks for sharing the video!

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Год назад +1

      I would say 34 hp is not far off. It may just be the EFI regulates fuel beter and faster, But it really seems to have a bit more power.

    I wouldn’t bother messing with the 4520 P. It did surprise me. But I wouldn’t consider it over my 4500Z or 4520Z after using all 3 of them. I’d only consider the P if I was doing slopes with it full time

  • @SeanBressie
    @SeanBressie Год назад

    I was checking the Specs on the 5 engines last night... It looks like the P model is still the only engine that can stay on the slope above 20 degrees for longer than 10 minutes.. A consideration for Levee and retention pond folks. I would like to get into a 4520N though. #SonomaCountyMowing

    One of the things I payed attention to was Kubota’s advertisement for the D902k (hopefully we’ll see that in the Ventrac lineup as a 4520M at some point) on their website, is the better torque curve that they are seeing with the EFI system. They can get to peak torque sooner and hold onto it a little better as the strain on the drive system changes. Quite impressive what it does for consistent power delivery as seen with you mowing in high range. I know a lot of people’s complaints have been about not being able to run these things in high range with anywhere near as good of performance as what they get in low range.

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Год назад +1

      I run mine in hige range all the time. The only time it goes in low is on hills, or heavy pushing with bucket or blade. I did see where the D902 is going electronic, Bot sure when it will be released. Obce that happens I am sure the turbo will no longer be able to be added.

      @keystoneraillink2110 Год назад

      @@steiger256 losing the ability to put a turbo on these would certainly upset some people. Changing directions a little here, do you by chance know how small a DPF can get? I was doing some more looking on Kubota’s website, and it seems like they could stuff a D1105-E3b into a Ventrac engine compartment. Only thing is, it is 4 inches taller and way heavier than any of the Kubota engines used in the ventrac. Also it doesn’t seem that Kubota has an after treatment system to bring it to tier four @3600 rpm, and I can’t find any dimensions on how small a DPF could be for a 30 HP engine. I know there’s all kinds of complications added with DPF’s, and Ventrac would more than likely not want to deal with it, but I’m just curious if it could hypothetically be done and meet EPA requirements.

      @@keystoneraillink2110 I would not have a issue with a higher hp diesel with dpf if I used the machine for a buisness whete i made money. As a homeowner I just would not want to mess with any of it. I am not sure how many turbos are installed, But I imagin very few due to the cost. I am not sure on how much room the regen would take up, But I am sure it would be more than what would fit under the hood of the Ventrac. I would imagin if it came down to it the diesel option would be droped due to the new efi engienes now. It is sad the diesel options are so few no days.

      I am not sure. When I used the 4520Y I did not notice any more power than my 4500Y. I did use a 4500Z and in tall grass you would hear the engine dip down some. This new EFI seens to regulate better faster. I was really impressed.

    How is it possible to look so neat, light and dark lines? I am thinking, mowing is the same, isn’t it? Or, do you do something different? Thanks!

    • @steiger256
      @steiger256  Год назад +1

      The Ventrac finish mower gives a perfect cut. The finish mowers and flail mowers are free floating on full length rollers. They lay down beautifal stripes. I do mow the same direction, And that helps also. The only reason I mow the same direction is because it just is easier and faster. You cant beat the cut quality of the Ventrac.
