When I watch this I smile a feet wide, just like U2 guys when they go way back and see this. They were punk rock noise makers trying to play symphonic anthems. Like church anthems played by Boomtown Rats or The Clash. Funny like hell. 20/21 year-olds.
i no words to descrive what i fell for this band,,i grow up listening this boys u2,,and one day when i die this musics of u2 go whith me..this is the band change my life 4 ever,,thanks for this post..love u2 from portugal u2 u2 we miss you
I often wonder what Bono and the boys think when they see themselves in video 25-30+ years ago, when they were on the brink of world domination and they didn't know then what they know now. Thanks for the post, I love seeing all things U2, but especially things from the good old days when they were just so exciting and YOUNG!
Great vid!!! U2 in 82... i has 15 years old... My times of school... my first passion, love... and my first LP of U2 (October)in my vacation in the beach. Good times and songs more intense... Thanks from Brazil, Puppibanana! :D
U2 is amazing!!! i lovee the album october! what gets me wondering though, is that Bono does so much in Africa to help the people there... in this video, Larry Mullen Jr. is wearing a jacket with a confederate flag on the back, hahaha its kinda funny. he is an amazing drummer!
+Nigelxman It means that he doesn't want knowledge that U2 were basically a VERY Christian band.....but they were not ONLY that....didn't judge you......had REAL passion.....didn't beat you over the head with morality and dogma.....Bono's M.O. was simply singing about being washed in the blood and the redeeming power of love.....and it hits you RIGHT IN THE CHEST....waterworks....October: Best. Christian. Rock. Album. EVER......and the only one that really mattered.
+Nigelxman hi mate I love October for all the reasons anglovox says, apart from the religion. if that's what have them the passion to make the music the way they did that's fine. I don't really care about the the message it's the energy I love which is sadly missing in a lot of music these days.
I'm curious hosdurga....How may times have you posted that Larry Mullen Jr. is the best rock drummer of all time? U2 is my favourite band of all time but to say that Larry is the best drummer of all time is pretty ridiculous. And more than a little ignorant. You might want to broaden your musical horizons mate. Here are a few drummers you may want to try listening to. Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart.
I agree on the flag. But as far as Christian evangelism, what do you find disturbing about it? It is a beautiful message. Jesus Christ - God who came to earth and took on the form of man and suffered and died for our sins. Beautiful!
this was a different u2 then. I personally love this track the way bono sings his high notes and edge ripping those cords from his six strings.
Listened to October for the first time in years the other day. It's brilliant forgot how good it was!
I wish they'd still play this live...
Hard for Larry he has lots of back pain
Me too!
@@mysticedge4 No it's because it's too high for Bono.

It’s not funny it’s badass there awesome
The side of hill, blood was spillt, we were still looking at each other...powerful! God is love!!!
What a great song! Timeless....and appropriate especially in light of events going on right now!
When U2 were solid. In thier mission. Now they've reached the ceiling and broken through. No where else to go..

I have this concert on DVD and I love it.
One of Adam's best lines
Powerful song. One of my favorites. I love Adam's bass in this one.

Excellent song, especially base and guitar bridges and chorus
Doc says "with a shout"....Shawn on The Mountain... we can go to place only we know...Shout it out! JERUSALEM TOP O' THE MOUNTAIN...
i loved you u2 punk and raw listen to adams bass just awsome
An incredible jam that transcends it's Christian lyrics..

I want to go
To the foot of the messiah
To the foot of he who made me see
To the side of a hill
Where we were still
We were filled
With our love
It’s actually, ‘To the foot of mount Zion.’
no October é power demais essa música!
thanks for posting,i had just got into U2 when this came out amazing
This is so awesome live! Do it on 360 tour this year boys! :)
Pensé que no tocaban éste tema en vivo
awesome song!
also they were so cute then. :)
@dragmio Edge said in a interview that he'd be happy to never hear this song again. too bad - it f-n rocks.
#@!
The wrong person finds this video and Larry is gonna get cancelled for that jacket.
La nua ar beil feirste inne❤
miticaaaaaaa
I wonder if the drummer would wear that flag today?
NOPE EVERYONE HAS BECOME PUSSIFIED.
@@raheimjumbo2869 or have become aware of the racist tone of that flag.
@@celina2995 Folks like this just go looking for a fight. Best thing is to just ignore them.
It's strange, they play it like 1 tone lower than on album, that makes like 1.5 tone under standard tuning
Love you son
Unfortunately it's a bootleg. I'd love it if they had a concert DVD from this early in their career.
with all respect for the inhalers but the first u2s were unbeatable
Thats very true u2 are great but inhaler are very good aswell
they make me feel queasy lol
Gotta say, Bono reminds me of a Christian who has forgotten his roots - all of them ( not the hair :) ).
Which DVD was this from? I want!
U2 wrote "Miami"
This is a forgotten song.
Funny to see a Confederate Flag on the back of Larry's shirt
Jerusalem and all the problems have remained. Perhaps they can apply themselves to something without publicity :)
Brilliant song (as long as you don't listen to the lyrics).
adzbox What does that mean?

Anglovox I couldn't care less about religion but October is a beautiful and very underrated album.

I concur adzbox. It's missing in a huge way.

Bono's Christian evangelism along with Larry's Confederate flag jacket make this video rather disturbing.
