Would you consider partnering with me through Patreon to make some dreams happen? Let's give this world something to smile about and fight for JOY! I have been building guitars for 12 years. Some of my guitars are played by professional musicians, including musicians who played with our Minnesota's Own Prince.
For this to work, I will need patron support through Patreon. The more support, the more guitars to give away and I will film it for your pleasure! I've gotta pay for parts somehow :) The first guitar featured was in process prior to developing the idea and already has a destination, however my hope is to continue building guitars and giving them away to individuals who need a boost in life. This might not be the criteria for every guitar given away, but it will be for the majority. _____________________________________________________________________

“Kind of a wood grain nerd…” Lol. Only another woodworker can understand.

I like the blueish coral. I can't wait to see what it looks like after the clear coat goes on.

Great video. Thanks for a lot of great tips! I am about to attempt a 4A flame maple cap strat and want it predominantly Transtint Blue, but wanted the grain to be Transtint Green that showed through in the grain details. Would you suggest any order of application or other tips to bring out the flame? Thanks again!

Go dark on your first coat of stain and then sand the majority off. The tiger flame will retain the darker stain and what gets sanded off will stay lighter as you stain with the lighter color over top.

That looks and works great, but any ideas on the best way to do thin veneer tops?because even 800 sand paper can go through it in just one or two sandings

Thin veneer is a lot more difficult to work with. It really limits what you can do. Veneer is obviously a way companies cut costs. Personally when building I never use it. I’ve used a veneer but never less than an 1/8th inch thick just because I want to have some room to sand. Thin veneer will limit what you can accomplish.
