I was born in 1964 and I grew up in the 70's and 80's graduating out of school in 1983 so I remember how living in these times of the 70's and 80's were like especially here in rural Oklahoma where i live thanks for the great memories of those time periods thank you.👍📺📻🇺🇲
As a teen in the 80s I can tell you that we did not have Internet, smartphones or social media, and we are far better off for it. We spent time outdoors more than kids do today. We did sports, socialized, etc. There were no video games to waste endless hours on -- unless you count arcades and DOS games. We shared tapes and bought LPs. CD didn't exist yet. Identity politics and wokeness were not things, though there was something called "political correctness" and the beginning of language policing. Upspeak and vocal fry were not a thing and only a few girls spoke in Valley Girl inflections (eg, frequent use of "like"); now it's commonplace. People read books and there was higher literacy than now. There was no state censorship or allegations of so-called "misinformation", and no medical tyranny. We took individual rights and freedoms for granted. Things were not perfect, but they were far better than now. Music and movies were fun and campy, not vehicles for woke ideology. Looking back on it now, it was a great time to be alive. I feel badly for teens now, with the insanity of social media and wokeness ruining everything. Also, pop music then was way better than now. I turn on the radio now and it's garbage. One last thing: there has been an explosion of obesity in recent years. Back then a few people were fat but not like today.
All of your magazines are way out of the 70s 80s and 90s they are in the 20s. If you're going to make a documentary video documenting our past at least get the pictures right.
You see the series stranger things and you will understand. I was born in '93 but it is an incredible life experience because you could communicate in real with people without using the phone was an incredible era. Also watching a movie Friday night was an incredible experience compared to today
Needs a movie!! ❤

I loved going to the music store flipping through the albums checking cover art something kids will never again understand

The local roller rink in our community is to be replaced with a highrise.😊 People stopped using it years ago.😊
The 70s and 80s were two very different times to be teens. This should have been teens of the 60s and 70s. And then teens of the 80s and 90s.
Ok hot topic was in 1989 so technically still 80s but i will say 1990s
I was born in 1960 and lived in Brooklyn. It wasn't like this. The murder rate was astronomical and people were simply trying to stay alive.
