Shearer was the man. I’m a Blackburn fan that was 19 yo in 1995 when we won the Prem - he was unlike any forward that we’d seen before, even some of the Superstars from years before. Shearer wasn’t quick, but his brain was, his touch was amazing and he never missed the target. He always looked a little awkward, but it just worked. Harry is a very close second though tbf. He’s much closer to Shearer than I thought anyone would ever get. Internationally, Harry has benefited from a much more organised and consistent England setup, but he’s also made the most of it. So he’s way ahead of Shearer when it come to the international game. TH and WR are absolute legends also, along with Bergkamp, Rudd VN, Drogba and Haaland (looks like he will) and of course Salah (the nearest that we’ve seen to Messi level ball control in the PL).
Disagree respectfully about Kane being way ahead in the international game. Shearer averaged a goal per 2 games for England and was the leading scorer at Euro 96. I'm not saying Shearer is ahead, but I wouldn't say Kane is miles ahead.

Shearer is too modest, but any prem top team/squad has to have Shearer in it. In pure premier league terms he was a goal scoring machine, a work horse, a legendary captain, he took great set pieces, won loads of them, scored every kind of goal and held the ball up so well - a skill that not many forwards have these days. Pre injury he wasn’t that slow, either.
Shearer to me was the english version of Romario ,and Romario was the brazilian version of Shearer. Both had similar ways to score beautiful bangers from all over the field.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind those are the best 3 premier league strikers in their prime. Kane was absolutely unreal in the prem aswell and i think he'll come back in a couple of seasons to try and take Shearer's crown

If it wasn't for Rooney tracking back, Man U wasn't winning that UCL, he completed that team with him tracking back and giving Tevez and Ronaldo coming up from the right mid as the second striker to score, and we all know what Ronaldo did in that UCL, all because of Rooney sacrificing his position and giving Ronaldo the opportunities up front. Rooney is the best thing to happen to Man U in this century and no one else comes close to what he has done.
