Also one of the most loved for the way he was & what he did here in the UK almost all football fans from every club here loved Eric. The King. It’s cliché for older fans like me, to say “kids these days will never know”, but they really will never know what it was like growing up in the early/mid-90’s as a Man Utd fan, or even a football fan in general. Eric was the face of the Premier League for so many years, he was the main attraction. Aura, swagger, charisma, unmatched. No one player has had an impact on Man Utd like Eric, he was the catalyst for all our modern day success. It’s wild to think SAF didn’t win a league title at United for 13 years without Eric. Barren from 1987-92, wins it back-to-back as soon as Eric arrives in 92/93 & 93/94, loses it in 94/95 when Eric’s banned, wins it back-to-back again when Eric returns 95/96 & 96/97, loses it when Eric retires in 1997/98. And people don’t realise what a prolific goal creating machine Eric was. 150 G/A in 186 games for United. 120 G/A for United in 146 Premier League games. A G/A every 1.21 games, the 7th best ratio of all time in the Prem, ranked 1st best ratio for United in the Prem. And they were all match winners, match savers, Eric never stat padded, he scored big goals, goals to win titles, match winner in two FA Cup Finals. There’s legends, and there’s God figures, Eric is the latter, he sits at the top table with Sir Matt, Sir Alex, and The Trinity.
What a guy, was an absolute hero when I was growing up in Manchester… knew if he was playing United would probably win because he was brilliant and he made everyone else better.
Both feet, heading the ball, could tackle, was fast for a big player, had great vision, strength and ability. The way he inspired his team mates to improve and to win. He will always be The King.
You can tell how much Eric respects Alan & Gary, just three old guys sitting around talking about football, no nonsense, no silliness, just a very absorbing, mature chat with great insight, warmth and humour.

I love this man. He was living for some time here in Lisbon and he went to see a game at Estádio de Alvalade, home of my club, Sporting Club dePortugal. He loved the atmosphere and he asked to visit the Academia, in line with what he said about loving the idea of forming young players and bringing them to the main squad. He loved it so much that his son began training at Sporting. I loved every single game i could watch of him, i always been a fan of Man Utd, and it's a shame there aren't no more players like him in the game. King Eric!!!

One of the best to grace the PL. it’s hard when you see modern players thrown around as world class and the best ever when players like cantona aren’t put in the same bracket. He was everything a player could be. Two feet, passes, crosses, great in the air, quick and his vision was second to none. And he could mix it with proper tough centre halves who used to be allowed to tackle unlike today’s lot. If we are defining world class its players like ERIC that should be right at the top of the list. He transcended the PL in so many ways and annoyingly so he changed man united forever. His foot print on that club should never be under estimated. Love this guy. King fu kicks, tantrums and all ❤
Cantona was more than a football player for Mancunians. He understood where the energy came from in the city, the youth, the music, the rebellion, the art, the creativity. It was all about freedom. He understood us, and we understood him. And for that, we all walked a little taller.
My dads a Liverpool fan but from young he’s been telling me about how much of a big game player and enigma that Cantona was. Bit disappointing that he’s not talked about more by pundits. He was so influential to United’s first Premier League titles.
This is the best interview to have amongst every footballer of all time. So glad you have him at his age right now. Interesting spirit. This is just a human being who played football at the highest level...not a robot media trained footballer.
Could do with some subtitles on this boys ! Cant understand a word Alan said 😂 Great point Eric mates regarding England players being tired in tournaments. Makes alot of sense. Thanks for the content ❤
One of the few episodes that was and would have stayed better without Micah. Didnt need his over the top personality when Cantona is making observations on the human condition.
I had to look up his international career as you often hear people say he never quite did it and even flopped for France. 20 goals in 45 caps, which is almost averaging a goal every other game. 15th in the leading scorers and when you look at many of the names ahead of him on that list, he had already retired before their careers got started. So he was a lot higher for a number of years. Didn't play in a world cup, but was in Euro 92. I wouldn't say they're flop stats.
You guys beat the overlap to King Eric. Respect.

Beautifully put
That was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you lads!
As known as the terrible kid in France he managed to rebounce in England as a phoenix, he is so much motivated by the creativity, his fire !
Eric's goals are why it's called the beautiful game.
I'm a Newcastle fan but Eric is the king, an absolute legend
That was incredible. I was hanging off his every word!
WOW ERIC! What a touch of class to get him on 🎉
My dads a Liverpool fan but from young he’s been telling me about how much of a big game player and enigma that Cantona was.
Bit disappointing that he’s not talked about more by pundits. He was so influential to United’s first Premier League titles.
What a legend. Felt like I was plugged into the matrix listening to Cantona 😂
What a star, class act bar none. Always worth watching, even his adverts are classic.
What a man!!!...What a presence and aurora he still has!!!...Legend fits the bill perfectly!!!...Loved the ending as well...Pure Class Eric 👏🏻👏🏻⚽️⚽️😍😍
Crazy good interview, fantastic questions and even better answers. Eric was wonderful and the ending, perfect. Great stuff! 👍
This is the best interview to have amongst every footballer of all time. So glad you have him at his age right now. Interesting spirit. This is just a human being who played football at the highest level...not a robot media trained footballer.
Could do with some subtitles on this boys !
Cant understand a word Alan said 😂
Great point Eric mates regarding England players being tired in tournaments. Makes alot of sense.
Thanks for the content ❤
hahahahaha good one
Exactly, this why we consider all other leagues as farmer's league, although I don't like the term, the difference in the lack of intensity is clear
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great player. An even greater man. And that's saying something because he was one hell of a player
This Man is my hero, this interview takes me back to when I was a kid and I have so many Great memories of watching him play.
King eric amd shearer . Two of my childhood hero's. If only united could of got shearer . That would be a dream pairing shearer and cantona
What a guy, interesting, passionate and most of all, thoughtful! Great episode.
Thanks for the memories Eric. Unique player, yet so relatable passion for the game.
What an absolute genuine human being. He speaks so relevant to the way of hiw live is now.
What a great interview. Excellent stuff lads.
